Abstract

This study aims to 1) find out how far students are interested in the traditional wedding ceremony course, 2) find out the learning outcomes of students using the simulation method. The research method used is quantitative descriptive. The subjects in this study are 42 people from semesters IV and VI of the AKS AKK Yogyakarta Cosmetology Study Program. Data collection uses documentation, interviews and observations. The results of the study stated that the simulation method was 100% interesting in learning the traditional ceremony of the bride and groom. Students become more understanding, more understanding, and more active in the learning because they pretend to play the role of actors in the bridal shower ceremony. So that this makes it easier for lecturers to convey messages in the teaching and learning process and students understand it more easily

Abstract

This research aims to improve hair coloring students' hair coloring learning achievement competency skills and the strategies used with the lecture, question and answer demonstration learning method, practical assignments. This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive approach, data collection using objective tests, action tests to obtain data on hair coloring competency scores, documentation. The subjects in this research were AKS AKK cosmetology students in semesters II and IV. The research object was strategies for improving competency skills in the hair coloring course. The results of the research show that the average objective test result achieved by students is 78%, so the assessment is in the medium category and requires in-depth study of the material. In terms of hair coloring or hair coloring competency skill scores, students were able to reach an average score of 84.167, so this score is in the high category. The evaluation process is an action to determine the value of something and measurement is an action to determine area or quantity.

Abstract

This research aims to improve learning outcomes in the Basic Hair Styling course (regional bun) for students of the Aks-Akk Yogyakarta cosmetology study program for the 2023/2024 academic year using the Collaborative Learning learning model, so that it can foster the character of students who are able to think critically, actively, creatively, independently and innovatively. This study has a subject, namely 38 students of the Cosmetology Study Program who took the Basic Hair Styling course (regional bun). This research method uses the classroom action research method (PTK) with the Suharsini Arikunto model approach. The data collection technique used uses non-test techniques where the assessment is based on the results of student practice in cycle I, , then in the second cycle the assessment is not only the total look of the practice results but also consists of the results of presentation/demonstration, responsibility, cooperation and completeness of the paper. The results of the study show that there is a percentage of success of students of the cosmetology study program in the Basic Hair Styling course (regional bun) with learning Collaborative Learning, an increase in learning outcomes of 42.1% for A grades in the second cycle from 44.7% to 86.8.9%. Thus, collaborative learning can improve learning outcomes by emphasizing student cooperation and responsibility in learning and understanding lecture materials that are able to provide stimulation for students to be more active, creative and independent.

Abstract

Project Based Learning (PBL) is an educational method that can make learning more tangible for students by directly relating it to their daily lives. The aim of this research is to enhance creativity through the Project Based Learning approach in Fashion Design education. This pre-experimental research utilizes a pre-test and post-test design. The study was conducted in the Fashion Design Study Program at the Social Welfare Academy (AKK) Yogyakarta during the odd semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. The research subjects were fashion design students at AKK Yogyakarta. The research instruments included portfolio results and observation sheets. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results indicate that Project Based Learning positively impacts creativity in fashion design courses. The average pre-test score was 59.10, while the post-test score increased to 91.63. The Wilcoxon test analysis yielded a p-value of 0.000, indicating that the Project Based Learning method significantly influences creativity enhancement in fashion design education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the coloring results on jomok bark batik using natural dyes (a combination of jambal, tegeran and tingi) without fixation, fixation with alum, fixation with calcium oxide, fixation with tunjung and the influence of the type of fixation agent on the quality of the coloring results on batik Jomok bark uses a combination of jambal, tengeran and tingi dyes. This research is an experimental research with an AxB factorial design. The results of the research on the quality of the coloring results on Jomok bark batik using natural dyes without fixation were a value of 4 in the good category, the quality of the coloring results on Jomok bark batik using natural dyes with alum fixation was a value of 4-5 in the good category, the quality of the coloring results in Jomok bark batik using natural dyes with calcium oxide fixation is a score of 4-5 in the good category, the quality of the coloring results in Jomok bark batik using natural dyes with tunjung fixation is a score of 4-5 in the good category, the type of fixation agent indicates the presence of influence on the quality of jomok bark batik coloring with the best color results with tunjung fixation.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) investigate the implementation of instructional video tutorials on batik techniques in textile experimentation and decorative design and (2) examine students' responses to the elements of textile experimentation and decorative design by utilizing instructional video tutorials on batik techniques. A total of 27 students from class XI in the Fashion Design Department at SMKN 3 Jember were subjects in this study. The data utilized in this research were derived from observations and assessments of students' learning outcomes. The findings of this study reveal that (1) instructional video tutorials on batik techniques in the elements of textile experimentation and decorative design in class XI at SMKN 3 Jember are proven to be suitable for educational purposes and (2) students' responses to the elements of textile experimentation and decorative design using instructional video tutorials are highly positive and effectively motivate students to actively participate, maintain discipline, and take responsibility for learning batik techniques. This research also indicates that this media is effective in providing conceptual understanding and has a positive impact on students' practical skills mastery in batik

Abstract

This objective of study to find out the difference between the three-dimensional nail art result between the use of acrylic powder and carving gel. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with experimental methods. The population used in this study was active students of the 2020 Army Cosmetics and Beauty Studies Program, Jakarta State University who had no disease or nail abnormalities. Sampling techniques using purposive sampling. The method of data collection in this study is an observation method, carried out with instruments in the form of a sheet of criteria of evaluation in the shape of an eclipse. The study uses indicators of evaluation such as texture, design suitability, versatility, and preference level. The panellists in this study were three people. Data analysis techniques using normality test, homogenity test and t-test based on the results of the hypothesis showed that there was a difference in nail art results between using acrylic powder and carving gel. This is demonstrated by the calculations obtained by thitung > ttable is 3,214 > 2,306, then Ho rejected at the level of significance 0,05.

Abstract

The research aims to determine the role of digital marketing in increasing service income in the beauty sector in students of the D4 Cosmetics and Beauty Care Study Program using a qualitative research method with a descriptive study focus on the research object, namely the number of 10 students who work in the field of beauty services and utilize digital marketing to increase their income. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are carried out by data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. The results of the study show that the use of digital marketing has a significant impact on increasing service income in the beauty sector among students of the D4 Cosmetics and Beauty Care Study Program. By leveraging various social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and WhatsApp, students have managed to expand their market reach, increase visibility, and attract more customers. The digital marketing strategy includes creating attractive content, using online booking features, and presenting customer testimonials. The majority of interviewees reported a 25-100% increase in revenue after using digital marketing, which was largely due to consistency in content creation and active interaction on social media.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1). Find out how far the knowledge of makeup students is about makeup equipment; 2). Know how far students know about the benefits of makeup equipment; and 3). To find out how far the student's knowledge is about the application of makeup equipment. The research methods used are descriptive, quantitative, and qualitative. The subjects in this study are 32 students of the Cosmetology study program in the first semester and 34 students of the 3rd semester of AKS-AKK Yogyakarta. Data collection uses demonstrations, interviews, and observations. The interview and communication method is intended to obtain detailed data on the use of makeup equipment as a support for the demonstration of practical makeup equipment knowledge courses. The demonstration was used to describe the results of the demonstration practice of using makeup equipment so that students better understood and paid attention when using the tools. In this study, there were 36 children who stated that they understood from learning about makeup equipment and 14 others did not understand the use of makeup equipment.

Abstract

Online learning provides various conveniences, such as time flexibility, access efficiency, and cost savings for students. However, in practice, online learning often faces various challenges. The main challenges include low student engagement and motivation, limited interaction between lecturers and students, and difficulty in comprehensively evaluating students' understanding. This study aims to examine the effect of Quizizz as a learning medium on learning outcomes in an online learning setting.The research employed a quantitative approach with an experimental research design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest type. The sample consisted of 30 students in a single group. The data collection technique used in this study was a learning outcomes test, which was used to measure students' understanding of the material before and after the intervention using Quizizz. Data analysis was conducted using a t-test. The results of the study showed a significance value (Sig.) of 0.001, indicating that the use of Quizizz as a learning medium had a significant effect on students' learning outcomes. This value is smaller than the predetermined significance level (α = 0.05), leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and the acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha).
