Abstract

Independent learning is an activity that students carry out without depending on the help of other people, both friends and lecturers, in achieving learning goals, namely mastering material or knowledge well with their own awareness and students can apply their knowledge in solving problems in everyday life. However, there are still students who experience difficulties in independent learning. The purpose of this research is (1) to determine student learning independence in flat and spatial geometry courses through the application of problem solving learning models in mathematics education study programs. (2) to determine student learning outcomes in flat and spatial geometry courses through the application of problem solving learning models in mathematics education study programs. This type of research is classroom action research. The research subjects were students in the fourth semester of the mathematics education study program for the 2023/2024 academic year, PGRI Mahadewa University, Indonesia. The object of this research is student independence and learning outcomes after implementing the problem solving learning model. This research uses two cycles and each cycle consists of planning, action implementation, observation and reflection stages. The method used in this research is descriptive statistics. The results of the research show that the application of the problem solving learning model can increase learning independence and learning outcomes for students in the fourth semester of the mathematics education study program for the 2023/2024 academic year in the flat and space geometry courses at PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia University.

Abstract

Preventive action in classroom management is the prevention of deviant behavior. Preventive efforts are social control in the form of preventing disturbances. However, there are still some students who lack religious character and discipline, such as some students who still violate school rules, there are students who do not participate in activities who are less polite in speaking, lack respect for their teachers, and there are students who experience obstacles in character building. The aim of this research is to find out how to take a preventive approach in preventing problems and developing the character of class XII MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg. This research is descriptive qualitative field research. Data collection techniques were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. The collected data was analyzed by data reduction, data description, interpretation, strengthening theory and then drawing conclusions. The results of research carried out at SMA Negeri 1 Selemadeg Tabanan in 2024 show that there are preventive efforts by guidance and counseling teachers in shaping student character, so that guidance and counseling teachers have carried out several efforts to shape student character, namely religious character and disciplinary character. This character formation is also instilled in students through the regulations implemented at school. Preventive social control is prevention before there is a deviation from the norms and values ​​of society given to students

Abstract

Expository text has the aim of providing an explanation or description of an idea, main idea, opinion, information or knowledge to the reader without the intention of influencing it. However, there are still students who are not able to analyze expository text correctly. The aim of this research is to find out whether the application of the inquiry learning model in analyzing expository texts can improve students' abilities and students' responses to the application of the inquiry learning model in improving the ability to analyze expository texts in class X students. This type of research is classroom action research. The subjects of this research were students in class This research uses two cycles and each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, evaluation and reflection. Data collection techniques use test and observation methods. Data collection in cycle I and cycle II was carried out using the technique of assessing student test results as numerical data, while data collection used observation techniques for qualitative data. The research results show that the application of the inquiry learning model can improve students' ability to analyze exposition texts and the application of the inquiry learning model can increase the responses of class X.1 students at SMA PGRI 4 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year in analyzing exposition texts

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) provide in-depth knowledge to teachers about the concept of HOTS-oriented assessment; 2) improve teachers' ability to develop HOTS-oriented assessment. This research is a literature research, with data sources are journal articles, reference books, modules, the internet, and other relevant sources. The study was conducted from October 2023 to February 2024. Data was collected by documentation and observation techniques. The research data were analyzed using exploratory descriptive methods. The results of data analysis are: 1) Higher-order thinking skills are the ability to think not just to remember, but the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create; 2) HOTS-oriented assessment has the characteristics of a) measuring higher-order thinking skills, b) contextual problem-based, c) using various question forms, d) divergent, and e) using multirepresentation. The steps for developing HOTS-oriented questions are a) analyzing basic competencies (KD), b) compiling a grid of questions, c) choosing an interesting and contextual stimulus, d) writing question items according to the question grid, and e) making scoring guidelines (rubrics) or answer keys. The benefits of HOTS-oriented assessment are: a) improving student achievement of learning outcomes, and b) increasing student learning motivation

Abstract

Fairy tales are fun for children, and can optimize children's character development in achieving thinking development. Intellectual intelligence can be fulfilled if parents are able to take the time to tell stories to their children. This research discusses the moral values contained in the fairy tale "The Yellow-Skinned Girl" by Made Taro. In analyzing using the Moral Education theory according to Sjarkawi, Moral education is an educational process that aims to foster the formation of good morals for everyone and can change a person's behavior to become moral. In this research, repeated reading and note-taking techniques were used, focusing on the moral values contained in the fairy tales. Data collection uses library methods, this type of research is descriptive qualitative. The method for presenting data analysis uses an informal method. As a result of the discussion, there are eight moral message quotes that the author can analyze. Among them, a wife's loyalty to her husband, not being able to distinguish between daughters and sons, a mother's struggle to save her child, not distinguishing between daughters and sons, a mother's struggle to save her child, not being allowed to speak lies, a children who diligently help their parents, children's love for their biological father.

Abstract

Teaching at the right level (Tarl) is a student-centered learning approach where students are grouped into groups with certain cognitive levels. Meanwhile, Understanding by Design (Ubd) is a reverse learning design or backward design where the process consists of determining objectives, then assessing and compiling learning activities which, if integrated, will be able to achieve optimal learning objectives and increase learning motivation. This research aims to determine whether the implementation of teaching at the right level (Tarl) integrated with the concept of Understanding by design (Ubd) can increase students' learning motivation at Surya Wisata Kediri Tabanan Senior High School. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK), using a cycle design from Kemmis & Mc Taggard. The location of this research is at Surya Wisata Kediri High School in class X MIPA 1 with research subjects of 32 students. Based on the research, the results obtained are that the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach integrated with the Understanding by Design (UBD) concept can increase students' learning motivation, where in the pre-cycle the percentage of students was in the low category, in the first cycle the percentage was 24.21%. Student motivation increased to 59.24% in the medium category and in cycle II it increased to 80.56% in the high category. So it can be concluded that the implementation of the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach integrated with the concept of Understanding by Design (UbD) can increase high school students' learning motivation in learning biology.

Abstract

Balinese dance is an ethnic Balinese dance that is imbued with Balinese Hindu cultural values, as an embodiment of Balinese cultural character. The characteristics of Balinese culture are socio-religious which contains its own philosophy which can be categorized as sacred art and profane art. With the categories sacred and profane, Balinese dance is classified into wali, bebali and balih-balihan arts. As a sacred art, Balinese dance is a treat of beauty to the forces of nature, and as a profane art, it is a treat of beauty to society. This article aims to understand the philosophy of dance in relation to Balinese culture which is based on Hindu religious teachings. The problem that is the main subject of the study to explain this goal is, what is meant by Balinese dance, and what is its relationship with Balinese culture. The study of the problems above is based on the results of observations of Balinese dance which were analyzed using the approach of art philosophy and aesthetic theory which is divided into morphological aesthetics and psychological aesthetics. The results of this study show that Balinese dance contains a philosophy of life that is imbued with the teachings of Balinese Hinduism in realizing truth and purity aesthetically

Abstract

Balinese songs, both traditional and modern, are creative literary works that are appreciative, inspirational, and contain many positive character education values. Balinese song literature was deliberately created as an entertainment as well as an educational medium. Many positive characters can be formed through appreciation of Balinese songs. The aim of this research is to determine the existence of appreciation for Balinese songs and describe the positive character values ​​implied in the lyrics of Balinese songs. The research data was taken from a number of traditional and modern Balinese songs lyric which are often listened by the Balinese people and are commonly used as teaching materials for Balinese literature. These songs are observed, read carefully, and the essence of their positive character is extracted, then presented as the analysis results. Based on the research and analysis that has been carried out, it can be concluded that appreciation activities for Balinese songs are still widely carried out in the formal and informal sectors for the purposes of entertainment, preservation and moral ethics education. It turns out that quite a lot of traditional and modern Balinese songs lyric contain positive character education values ​​to improve the moral ethics of the nation's children.

Abstract

Mathematics is one subjects taught at all levels and types of formal education with a major contribution to various fields such as technology, industry, finance, and so on. However, mathematics is not a subject that are interested because difficult, scary, uninteresting and boring. This mindset creates negative impressions and experiences. Therefore, teachers should use appropriate models, strategies, methods and approaches so that they can build and improve positive attitudes towards mathematics. The aim of this research is to determine the application of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) type cooperative learning model in mathematics learning for students in class VII H at SMPN 8 Denpasar. The TGT model allows students to learn to collaborate, compete and be responsible while still being guided by learning objectives. This research uses test and non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets, interviews and student learning outcomes tests. The results of this research were that in Cycle I the percentage of students who completed was 56.10%, then increased in Cycle II with a completion percentage of 80.49%. Therefore, it can be said that TGT type cooperative learning can improve the learning outcomes of class VII H students at SMPN 8 Denpasar.

Abstract

Various methods have been employed by teachers in school, but they have not yet achieved maximum results. Therefore, innovation in classroom learning is needed, one of which is the implementation of the Discovery Learning model. The aim of this research is to determine whether the implementation of the Discovery Learning model can enhance student learning activities in mathematics. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects of this research were students of class X.E1 at SMA Negeri 6 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year. The object of the research was the students' learning activities in mathematics on the topic of Statistics with the application of the Discovery Learning model. This classroom action research was carried out in two cycles, which included initial reflection, action planning, action implementation, observation/data collection, and reflection. Data collection was done through observation. The instrument used was an observation sheet related to student learning activities. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the action research, it was shown that the application of the Discovery Learning model can enhance student learning activities in mathematics on the topic of Statistics for class X.E1 students at SMA Negeri 6 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year. With the average completeness of student learning activities in cycle I being 73.81% and increasing to 83.53% in cycle II.
