Abstract

Motivation to learn plays a crucial role in achieving learning success in school. Low motivation to learn among students results in low learning outcomes. The Problem-Based Learning model was chosen because it requires students to be active in research and problem-solving processes during learning. This study aims to increase the motivation to learn among class XI IPA 2 students at SMAN 2 Denpasar for the 2023/2024 academic year. The research subjects were 45 students from class XI IPA 2. The study used two cycles with four stages in each cycle: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires related to student motivation. The obtained data was then analyzed qualitatively. The pre-cycle motivation to learn among students was 44.02, while the first cycle questionnaire results showed an achieved result with an average of 62.84. Subsequently, the second cycle questionnaire results showed an achieved result with an average of 81.20. Based on the research results, it was found that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model in mathematics learning for class XI IPA 2 students at SMA Negeri 2 Denpasar in the 2023/2024 academic year can increase student motivation.

Abstract

Cultural tourism is a form of tourism that focuses on preserving culture and provides positive benefits for students and can be a source of ideas for developing creativity in writing speech texts. However, there are still many students who experience difficulties in analyzing speech texts. The aims of this research are (1) to determine the ability to analyze speech texts with a cultural tourism theme, (2) to find out the difficulties faced when analyzing speech texts with a cultural tourism theme, and (3) to find out the factors that cause when analyzing speech texts themed cultural tourism. The research subjects were class X students at SMA Negeri 3 Denpasar for the 2023/2024 academic year. The methods used to collect data are the test method, questionnaire method, and interview method. The difficulties experienced by students include several aspects, namely 49.1% experienced difficulty in determining the introduction to the speech, 63.2% experienced difficulty in determining the content of the speech, and 54.8% experienced difficulty in determining the conclusion of the speech. The factors causing the difficulties experienced are students' lack of understanding of the structure of the speech, especially at the beginning and core of the speech, students' lack of understanding of the stages of analyzing a text. Thus, the ability to analyze students' cultural tourism-themed speech texts is in the good category.

Abstract

So far, teachers have used a student-centered learning approach, but there are still some teachers who use conventional learning methods which result in low student learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes in mathematics learning through implementing the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach in class XI IPA 3 SMAN 2 Denpasar for the 2023/2024 academic year. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research was carried out in two cycles and each cycle consisted of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and evaluation and reflection. Data collection was carried out using observation sheets and learning outcomes tests. The research method uses quantitative descriptive data to determine the percentage of completeness of learning outcomes. The results of the research were that in Cycle I the percentage of students who completed was 63.64% then increased in Cycle II with a completion percentage of 77.27. In this way, there is an increase in student learning outcomes in Mathematics learning by implementing the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach in class XI IPA 3 SMAN 2 Denpasar for the 2023/2024 academic year.

Abstract

Teachers have used learning models that can stimulate students to think critically and creatively. However, many students are weak in their creative thinking abilities. The aim of this research is to determine student responses and the application of the Project based learning model in improving creative and mathematical thinking skills in statistics material. This type of research is classroom action research. Research method with descriptive analysis. The subjects of this classroom action research were class XA students of SMA Negeri 2 Abiansemal in the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The object of this research is the application of the project based learning model and student responses to student mathematics learning outcomes. The research used two cycles and each cycle consisted of four stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection evaluation. The research results show that there is an increase in learning outcomes and observation of responses in each cycle. Pre-cycle learning outcomes 65.35; in cycle I it was 70.27; cycle II was 77.67. Student response results in cycle I were 68.93 and in cycle II were 78.15. Thus, the application of the PjBL learning model can improve students' creative and mathematical thinking abilities and there is a positive student response to the application of the PjBL learning model in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes in statistics material.

Abstract

The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model with a Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) approach not only motivates students to be more active and critical in the learning process but also ensures that each student receives attention and assistance according to their skill level. This classroom action research aims to determine whether the application of the PBL model with the TaRL approach can improve mathematics learning outcomes. The subjects of the research were the students of class VII D of SMPN 1 Kuta Utara in the academic year 2023/2024. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, which included initial reflection, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data collection was carried out through observations and written assessments. The instruments used were observation sheets and essay questions. The data analysis technique used was descriptive analysis. The results of the research showed a significant improvement in students' mathematics learning outcomes from the pre-cycle to the second cycle. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of students achieving mastery was only 36.84%. After the application of PBL with the TaRL approach, the percentage of mastery increased to 60.05% in the first cycle and reached 78.94% in the second cycle. This improvement indicates that the application of PBL with the TaRL approach is effective in enhancing students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The basic movements of Balinese dance are broadly divided into three parts, namely agem, Tandang, and Tangkep. However, there are still many students who cannot do the basic dance movements well. The aim of this research is to improve student learning outcomes in the material of assembling basic Balinese dance movements by applying a learning model. Project Based Learning and to find the difficulties faced by students in the material of composing basic Balinese dance movements by applying the Project Based Learning learning model. This research was carried out in two cycles, where each cycle included the stages of planning, implementation, observation or observation as well as analysis and reflection. The data analysis technique that will be used in this research is quantitative data analysis. The research results show an increase in each cycle. In the pre-cycle, the average student score was very low with a poor prediction of 59.4. In the implementation of cycle I, the student's score increased with a sufficient predicate, namely 74.85. In cycle II there was an increase which was able to meet the KKM value with a very good prediction, namely 82.98. The difficulties faced by students in learning to compose the basic movements of Balinese dance are their lack of understanding and comprehension of the basic movements which are the main elements in a dance and also their fear of practicing the basic movements of Balinese dance.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the Effect of Using the Quizizz Educational Game on Motivation and High-Level Cognitive Learning Outcomes of Junior High School Students. This study is a type of Quasi Experimental research (semi-experimental) because in reality this study cannot fully control external variables that affect the implementation of the experiment. The research design used is nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students in class VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 2 Marga (456 people) and SMP Negeri 4 Kediri (250 people). Meanwhile, the number of samples was 53 people from 2 Marga State Middle School and 56 people from Kediri State Middle School. The sample in each school was divided into two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Based on the study, the results showed that the average value of the learning motivation score of students in the experimental class (42.12) was higher than the control class (36.08). The t-test results showed a t value of 3.340 with a p-value of 0.002, indicating that the difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control classes was statistically significant (p-value <0.05). Meanwhile, the average value of students' high-level cognitive learning outcomes in the experimental class (83.31) was also higher than in the control class (81.13). The t-test results showed a t value of 3.136 with a p-value of 0.002, indicating that the difference in cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes was statistically significant (p-value <0.05). So it can be concluded that the Effect of Using the Quizizz Educational Game has a positive effect on Learning Motivation and High-Level Cognitive Learning Outcomes of Junior High School Students.

Abstract

Legong Ngewayang is a new creation of palegongan dance which is danced by 8 dancers. This palegongan creative dance is a traditional palegongan dance which uses movements that are thick with traditional movements, wrapped with new creative movements, arranged in such a way as to suit the needs of the dance. The Legong Ngewayang dance uses fans and puppets as props. This dance cannot be separated from the standards of traditional Pelegongan dance movements without eliminating the aesthetic forms of Balinese traditional dance such as: batel maya, pepeson, pengawak, pecet, pengrangrang and pekaad. This dance visualizes four clown characters consisting of wayang Tualen, wayang Merdah, wayang Delem and wayang Sangut. This research examines further the "Values ​​of character education in the Legong Ngewayang Dance". In particular, this research aims to raise awareness among the younger generation to pay more attention to the art of shadow puppetry through the art of the Legong Ngewayang Dance.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of using the Kahoot game learning media on the motivation and learning outcomes of junior high school students. This research is a type of Quasi-Experimental (semi-experimental) research because in reality this research cannot fully control external variables that influence the implementation of the experiment. The research design used was nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample of this research were 30 teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Kerambitan and 24 people at SMP Negeri 3 Tabanan. At SMP Negeri 1 Kerambitan the number of students in the experimental class was 27 people and the control class was 29 people. Meanwhile, the number of students at SMP Negeri 3 Tabanan in the experimental class was 25 people and the control class was 27 people. Based on the research, the results showed that the average score of students' learning motivation in the experimental class (40.12) was higher than that in the control class (37 .08). The t test results show a t value of 3.320 with a p-value of 0.002, which shows that the difference in learning motivation between the experimental and control classes is statistically significant (p-value < 0.05). Meanwhile, the average value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class (83.10) was also higher than the control class (80.13). The t test results show a t value of 3.135 with a p-value of 0.002, which shows that the difference in cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes is statistically significant (p-value < 0.05). So it can be concluded that the influence of using the Kahoot game learning media has a positive effect on increasing learning motivation and learning outcomes for junior high school students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine students' interest in learning mathematics in a mathematics course. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The sample for this study consists of second-semester students majoring in computer engineering systems at the Institute of Business and Technology Indonesia (INSTIKI) Campus. The research activity design includes three stages: the preparation stage, the field implementation stage, and the post-field stage. In the preparation stage, the following activities were conducted: creating a research design, conducting preliminary observations, selecting and determining the class, and preparing research instruments. The data sources for this research were obtained from questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation carried out in the selected class. The data collection techniques used by the researcher include student response questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation. The questionnaire used in this study is a closed/structured questionnaire about students' interest in learning mathematics. Data analysis was conducted descriptively based on the data collected from the instruments used. The results of the study showed that students' interest in terms of enjoyment in attending mathematics courses using ice-breaking techniques was 94%, interest in students' attention focus on mathematics courses using ice-breaking techniques was 85%, interest in student engagement in learning activities using ice-breaking techniques was 95%, and interest in students' attraction to participating in learning with ice-breaking techniques was 84%.
