Abstract

Attendance is an important aspect of attendance management, both in academic and corporate environments. Conventional attendance systems that still use manual signatures or identity cards often face obstacles such as data falsification, inefficiency, and difficulties in recapitulating attendance. Therefore, this research develops a web-based attendance information system using QR-Code technology as a solution that is more efficient, accurate, and secure. The research method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D), which is a research method that aims to develop a product and test its effectiveness in achieving the expected goals. This research process consists of two main stages, namely product development and product validation. Users simply scan the unique QR-Code generated by the system using a mobile device to automatically record their attendance. The test results show that this system is able to increase the efficiency of attendance recording, reduce the risk of fraud, and simplify the data recapitulation process. Thus, this QR-Code-based attendance system can be a more modern and effective alternative in attendance management

Abstract

In the era of globalization, critical thinking skills in mathematics are essential. However, mathematics is often perceived as difficult and monotonous, prompting the need for teachers to employ engaging approaches, such as Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). RME connects mathematical concepts with real-life situations to enhance students' understanding and critical thinking skills. This study aims to analyze effectiveness of RME in improving junior high school students' critical thinking skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using the PRISMA approach. Data were collected from articles published between 2015 and 2025 in the WoS and Scopus databases, with 26 articles identified. The results indicate a growing number of RME-related publications, peaking in 2023 (10 articles). The most common research method was quasi-experimental (54%), with geometry as the primary topic (6 studies). Implemented strategies included e-worksheets, RME-based teaching materials, RME learning media, and RME learning models. This study confirms the effectiveness of RME in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study analyzes the character of Kaluna in the film Home Sweet Loan using Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, which divides personality structure into three main components: id, ego, and superego. This study aims to understand the psychological dynamics of Kaluna in facing inner conflicts between personal desires and social demands. This study found that Kaluna experiences tension between her instinctive desire (id) to have her own home, her realistic ability (ego) in managing finances, and her moral values (superego) that require her to remain responsible for her family. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the psychological dynamics of Kaluna's character in the film Home Sweet Loan. The type of research used is a literature study with a focus on film analysis as the object of study. The main data source is the film Home Sweet Loan, while the secondary data includes books, articles, journals, and other sources relevant to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory and character studies in the film. Data collection techniques are carried out through observation of scenes in the film, recording dialogues, and identifying Kaluna's actions and reactions that reflect aspects of the id, ego, and superego. The data analysis technique used is content analysis with reference to Freud's psychoanalytic theory, which aims to reveal the interaction between the psychic components in Kaluna when facing conflict and decision making throughout the storyline. This study contributes to understanding the psychological impact of economic dilemmas on individuals in the sandwich generation, especially for women who are at the crossroads between personal aspirations and family loyalty.

Abstract

Students are often exposed to the negative effects of social media, especially if used excessively, which can disrupt sleep, cause anxiety, and even lead to severe depression. This research aims to analyze the impact of social media on the social conditions, lifestyle, and social status of students at Makassar State University. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method with techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects of this study are students at Makassar State University who use social media. In this research, the data analysis technique used involves collecting data through interviews with active students from Makassar State University to provide a deeper understanding of the effects of social media usage, as well as documented literature from previous journals and studies obtained from online databases such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and PubMed. The results show that social media has a significant effect on social relationships and mental health, as well as the lifestyle of students. This platform facilitates access to information, expands social networks, and motivates individuals to adopt healthier habits. However, the negative effects such as stress, sleep disturbances, and declining physical health cannot be ignored. This issue is exacerbated by the presence of cyberbullying, social comparison, and self-evaluation anxiety that students often experience. Therefore, it is important to use social media cautiously so that the benefits can be enjoyed without detrimental consequences
