Abstract

Apron needs a subgrade with a certain density in order to meet the requirements of aircraft ACN. Subgrade from the ground requires special attention because it is potential to cause a decrease (consolidation) if it does not get adequate compaction process. Subgrade soil density needs to be tested first before undergoing subsequent construction process. Density test can be done by means of the Dynamic Cone Penetrometer ((DCP). Value of CBR is obtained by correlating the number of tool collisions with the depth of conus penetration. Subgrade soil density test is done in the apron construction area of hangar-D Curug Calibration Center for Flight Facilities

Abstract

Mitigation action towards aviation occurrence in Indonesia, according to National Transport Safety Commitee, have not been showing a significant results. It can be caused by, either the continuous development of aviation technology or the gaps between skills acquired during training phases and those required in the working environment. The TRAINAIR PLUS Training Development – Preliminary study will not only identify problems and the causes but also other potential problems that may arise in the future. The lack of understanding on separation, minimum English speaking skills, and no training on RNAV and RNP are findings related to training solution. Abstract

The aim of this research was to investigate the implementation of information gap activity as teaching strategy to improve speaking skill of the fifth semester cadet of Indonesian Civil Aviation Institutes. This classroom action research was conducted to solve those problems occurring in the speaking class. In collecting the data, researcher uses speaking scoring rubric and field notes. This research was conducted in two cycles focusing on the improvement of the students’ speaking performance and their positive attitude to the implementation of the information gap activity (IGA) as teaching strategy in the speaking class. Research result revealed that the use of IGA could improve the students’ speaking performance and give them positive attitude to the implementation of some activities given. The findings showed that the average score of the students’ speaking performance could achieve 81.54 from the determined score 75. In addition, it was also found that 90 % of the students showed positive attitude to the implementation of IGA in the speaking class. The implementation of IGA as teaching strategy in speaking class can cover a procedure of six phases: eliciting, setting context, modeling, pairing, controlled practiced and semi freer practiced. Based on the findings, it is concluded that teaching speaking skill by using IGA can improve students’ fluency.

Abstract

In this research discusses the design circuit co-design dual-band LNA and BPF at Radio Navigation Aids (RNA) in particular equipment Very High Frequency Omni Range (VOR) / Instrument Landing System Localizer (ILS LOC) working at band working on band VHF 108-118 MHz and ILS Glide Slope (GP) on band UHF 328.6 MHz - 335.4 MHz are used for ground check monitoring. The co-design is a series of LNA and BPF are combined in a circuit. Bandpass filters are designed also serves as a substitute for the output matching impedance of the LNA, so it has the advantage of passive components becomes less and dimensions of the devices become smaller, but still have same performance with a dual-band LNA and BPF are designed in cascade by the conventional method. For comparison also designed a dual-band LNA circuit without dual band BPF and a dual band LNA and BPF in cascade. Simulation results show good performance in all curcuits. In a co-design for the center frequency of 113.0 MHz and 332.0 MHz frequencies obtained consecutive gain (S21) 24.116 dB/17.213 dB, input return loss (S11) -24.885 dB/-30.223 dB, noise figure 1.283 dB/ 1.250 dB, stability factor 1.159 / 1.778 and VSWR 1.121 dan 1.064. While the value of the measurement results of fabrication equipment and input return loss gain slightly decreased the value of simulation results but still meet the design specifications for the VHF band, UHF band but still out of tolerance from the design specifications

Abstract

Current condition in aviation require the strategic planning for program of study to be able to improve academic and non-academic quality to facing it by considering internal and external side. Within higher education strategic planning in terms of education remains three aspects that are Education, Research and Community Service are called Tridharma. Higher education strategic planning has been accommodated by accreditation form Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi (BAN-PT), so that improving academic and non-academic quality evidenced by rankings of accreditation. Environment analysis is first stage by using Delphi method to summarize the opinions from the experts about external condition to determine opportunity and threat. Internal condition analyzes by assessing using assessment of accreditation to determine strength and weakness. To find strategy in strategy formulation use matrix of opportunities, threats, strengths and weakness. Result of strategy formulation for each accreditation component in Program of Study Aircraft Engineering are: Organization vision, mission and stage time of achievement; improvements in budgeting, feedback and improving the graduates quality and create cooperation and dialogue with users, alumni participation, and study trace; improvement of academic qualifications, scientific activities and ratio of lecturers; number and qualifications of educational personnel; monitoring improvement of academic activities, curriculum development, academic atmosphere, quality of final project and safety culture; improved management, budget structure and budget allocations for the implementation of Tridharma; create scientific activity program, an increase in the interest of lecturer and other lecturer development activities. The next research is implementation and evaluation strategies.

Abstract

The composite material is the result of a combination of macroscopic material from two or more different components. Components of the composite in the form of reinforcement and a binder (matrix). The strength and properties of the composite can be obtained from the phase constituent, the composition and geometry of the reinforcing phase. There are differences in the strength of the composite on any kind of orientation in which the determination of this orientation will also affect the level of force against the load received on the composite. After the manufacture of some types of samples with different orientations and then continued testing the strength of each type of sample using standard tests according to testing for composite materials and then be done with the calculation and analysis of the strength and stiffness of each sample. From these results can be obtained from the data that the sample composite reinforcements phase orientation in the direction of loading levels of strength and stiffness of the greatest, while the orientation phase composite samples reinforcements perpendicular to the direction of loading levels of strength and stiffness of the weakest. Therefore, in the manufacture of composite materials need to be considered in determining the composition of each layer orientation in accordance with the direction of the load that will be accepted in order to generate maximum power level in the composite material.

Abstract

Soekarno – Hatta International Airport is one of the airport under PT. Angkasa Pura II, which provides services in transport sector. One of the support to actualize flight service that is safe and comfortable is the existence of infrastructure and facilities in that airport. Especially electric facilities at the airport should be maintained on the system back up or supply from PLN. One of the tools that support the supply system is a transformer that serves to lower the voltage of PLN is 20 KV to 380 V in step down system. The transformer at Soekarno – Hatta International Airport has 83 units spread across each sub station. To maintain optimum transformer, it necessary to care the transformer in each transformer sub station especially the temperature of transformer should always be monitored to prevent over temperature which can result in transformer windings as well as components to be damaged and the unoptimal operation. To check the temperature of the transformer in each sub station requires effort and time that far away from the sub station control room as well as through the bottleneck is an obstacles to check the temperature of the transformer in each sub station

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to attain how far the influence of Leadership and Personnel attitude to the performance of Air Traffic Services Quality in Soekarno Hatta Airport. Facing from the back ground problems in Soekarno Hatta Airport has identified that the performance of services (especially Air Traffic Service) not optimally yet, improving the Leadership and Personnel Attitude having an effect in direct to quality of services. Leadership individually has not significantly influence to Air Traffic Services quality at Soekarno Hatta Airport. Personnel Attitude individually has positively influence to Air Traffic Services quality at Soekarno Hatta Airport. The result of research indicate that Leadership And Personnel Attitude together have influence positively to the quality Air Traffic Services at Soekarno Hatta Airport. Coefficient Determination (R2 ) was found that equal to 88,10 % it means that various improvement of Quality of Air Traffic Service caused by various of leadership and personnel attitude, and the rest of 11,90 % may caused by other factors which is not analyzed yet in this research. In order to get more better of Air Traffic Services at Soekarno Hatta Airport. The Air Navigation Service Provider in Soekarno Hatta Airport (JATSC) shall improve the employee quality of its leadership and also improve its personnel attitude with training. Abstract

Airfield Lighting subject is one of the most importance subjects for Airport Electrical Engineering of Indonesia Civil Aviation Institute cadets . There are CBT and AFL in AGL laboratory to support the teaching-learning process as well as the practice of this subject. At the time being, however, there has not been any simulation tool for the layout and circuit configuration of the airport airside. Therefore, the writer designs a simulation tool as a teaching aid/props for the practice of this subject at the laboratory. By having this tool, it is expected that the cadets can do the simulation of the layout and circuit configuration of the airport airside.
