Abstract

This ethnographic study is founded on the ideas of ethnography and theme analysis, and the information was taken from Department of Education teaching materials, notably those used in the Mother Tongue Basic Language (MTBL) program in the division of Koronadal City. The primary ethnolinguistic group, like the Blaan, has undergone localization, indigenization, and innovation to adapt to changes and develop into a transversal Filipino language as necessary. The significance of the Mla dance of the Blaan Indigenous Community in Sitio Salkan, Brgy. Paraiso is summarized in this study. In terms of their everyday lives, in Brgy. Paraiso, the City of Koronadal is distinctive, especially during the planting seasons for various crops like rice, corn, sweet potatoes, and others. The moon's presence, which the Mla refers to as "Bulen," is the foundation of their dance, as evidenced by their folk literature, "Bulen ne Datu Ulu Eel." This simply indicates that in ancient times, the moon was one of the most important celestial bodies and was regarded as the supreme entity.

Abstract

The work aims to improve the system for assessing the quality of activities of higher education institutions in terms of quality management. Problems that hinder the improvement of the quality of universities' activities are identified and systematized. An analysis of the existing criteria-evaluation complexes used to determine the effectiveness of the activities of higher education institutions was carried out. The content of the components of the quality of the activities of higher education institutions has been clarified. A structural model for assessing the internal quality of higher education institutions is proposed. The analysis of the macro-environment of the activity of the university was carried out using the methodology of strategic management, including political, economic, social, and technological (PEST) analysis. The result of the study is a macro-criteria model of the quality management system of higher education institutions, which characterizes quality management, a new approach to assessing the effectiveness of a university and the degree of its competitiveness, as well as the activities of higher education institutions in terms of quality management.

Abstract

Communication is one of the important 21st-century skills provided to students. In Indonesia, communication skills in education are still considered less trained, especially in the conditions of the past Covid-19 pandemic. Learning using blended learning is one way that can be used to provide this skill, especially in the transition conditions from online to offline learning as it is today. This study aims to analyze the profile of communication skills of high school students using the blended learning model Project Based Learning (PjBL) on ecological concepts. The study also analyzed the results of projects that students have worked on during learning. This study uses the descriptive method. The study was conducted on 31 students in one class X science from one of the private high schools in the city of Bandung using the purposive sampling method. Data was collected with non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets and project assessments. Verbal communication is measured through observation sheets at the time of presentation of the project work. The ability of written communication is based on assessment in media and technology. Results showed that the average student's verbal communication skills were 86% (very high category), and the average written communication score was 85% (high category). The product results from the project show an average value of 74% (high category). All students are generally interested in blended learning using the PjBL model.

Abstract

The development of children can be harmed by low-quality early childhood education centers (ECEC), as these centers may hurt the children's overall well-being as well as their social, emotional, educational, physical, and behavioral results. It is challenging to pinpoint strategies. It could foster social interaction skills in young children due to a lack of agreement among educators regarding the strength of the relationship between relevant factors like teachers' qualifications, training, physical facilities, staff-child ratio, and the general standard of the ECE Center. In the Isin Local Government Area of Kwara State, the study looked at how preschoolers' social interactions were influenced by the quality of the ECE center. The research deliberately took into account schools having ECCDE centers. The observational evaluation scale on the impact of high-quality early childhood education centers on pre-schoolers' social interactions was one of two validated research instruments used to gather data. The other was the early childhood education center quality. The study recommends that schools provide extra hands-on materials, more playtime, and adequate space for play activities to foster children's social interaction through quality ECE Centers. The results showed that quality ECE Center had a positive influence on preschoolers' social interaction and overall development.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were to examine the profile of agreeableness of adult education students, the conscientiousness of adult education students, neuroticism of adult education students, openness to experience adult education students, extraversion of adult education students and the level of study habits of adult education students at the University of Ilorin. A descriptive research design of a survey was used for this study. The population of the study consist of all 567 undergraduate students of the adult education department at the University of Ilorin. A total sample of two hundred (200) respondents was selected using random sampling techniques. The structured questionnaire was validated by three experts at the Department of Adult and Primary education, University of Ilorin, Nigeria. Reliability validation was obtained through the split-half method with 70 respondents. The hypotheses were tested using Chi-square at 0.05 alpha level. It was concluded that the agreeableness, conscientiousness, extroversion and openness to experience of adult education students are high while their neuroticism was low. As a result, the majority of adult education students performed averagely in the study habit test, though agreeableness, conscientiousness, extroversion and openness as well as neuroticism are positively related to the study habits of adult education students at the University of Ilorin. However, adult education students’ conscientiousness, extroversion, agreeableness and openness to experience significantly predicted their study habits at the University of Ilorin while neuroticism was insignificant.
