Abstract

This study aims to analyze the strategy of the Al-Hidayah Library in developing information literacy among the people of Natambang Roncitan Village, South Tapanuli Regency. Information literacy is a crucial competency in the digital era, especially in supporting the development of inclusive and empowered rural communities. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study identified three main programs run by the library, namely poetry writing classes, basic computer training, and storytelling activities. The three programs not only improve the information literacy skills of the community, but also strengthen the role of the library as a center for community learning based on social inclusion. The success of the program implementation is supported by institutional support from the village government, active community participation, and librarian competence in utilizing information technology. The findings of this study indicate that the village library model based on participation and cross-party collaboration is effective in improving literacy and community empowerment. This study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of a community literacy model, as well as practical recommendations for sustainable village library management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the patterns of use, motivations, and the positive and negative impacts of Instagram on students at SMA Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five students who actively use Instagram. The results indicate that Instagram is accessed almost daily, particularly during leisure time at home or school breaks. The most frequently used features include Stories, Reels, and Direct Messages (DM). The primary motivations for using Instagram are entertainment, information seeking, and self-expression. Socially, Instagram has a positive effect by helping students maintain friendships and express their identities. However, it also poses negative impacts, such as disrupting concentration and causing social pressure through self-comparison. Therefore, it is crucial for adolescents to manage their time effectively and use social media responsibly.

Abstract

Conflicts between extractive companies—particularly in the mining and palm oil sectors—and local communities in Indonesia represent a complex and enduring structural phenomenon. This study aims to identify and map scientific trends related to conflict management strategies in this context through a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from the Scopus database using selected keywords, covering publications from 2000 to 2024. The analysis was conducted using VOSviewer software, focusing on keyword mapping, publication productivity, and networks of author and institutional collaboration. The results revealed three major clusters in the literature: (1) social conflict and conflict management models, (2) sustainability dimensions and corporate social responsibility (CSR), and (3) stakeholder engagement and governance complexity. These findings underscore the importance of a multidimensional approach to understanding conflicts in the extractive sector and highlight a shift in academic focus toward community participation and value-based conflict resolution models. This study contributes to the mapping of scientific knowledge and offers strategic references for policymakers and industry practitioners in designing fair and sustainable conflict resolution approaches.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a complex and multidimensional social phenomenon, thus attracting the attention of many parties, including experts, policy makers, and the general public. This study provides insight into how film media influences public perceptions and attitudes towards social issues, particularly juvenile delinquency. By examining the semiotic representation in "Galaksi", this study contributes to a deeper understanding of how films construct and communicate social narratives about juvenile behavior. This study aims to analyze the representation of juvenile delinquency in the film "Galaksi" (2023) using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic approach and Stuart Hall's theory of representation. Specifically, this study seeks to: Identify elements in the film that represent juvenile delinquency & Explore the signifiers and signifieds used to depict juvenile delinquency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach within the constructivist paradigm. Data collection techniques include film analysis and open-ended interviews, with source triangulation used to ensure data validity. An inductive approach is applied to build a comprehensive understanding of the representation of juvenile delinquency in film media. This study refers to Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory, which examines the relationship between the signifier (the physical form of the sign) and the signified (conceptual meaning), and Stuart Hall's representation theory to analyze how meaning is constructed and communicated through cultural texts. This study aims to determine what elements in the film 'Galaksi' represent juvenile delinquency based on Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic theory and to determine what signifiers and signifieds are used in the film 'Galaksi'.

Abstract

Interfaith harmony is a major challenge in a multicultural society like Medan City, which has religious and cultural diversity. The Interfaith Harmony Forum (FKUB) is present as a non-structural institution that has a strategic role in maintaining social harmony through an inclusive da'wah approach, interfaith dialogue, and collaboration with the government and society. This study aims to determine the strategic management implemented by the Medan City FKUB in an effort to maintain interfaith harmony. This study uses a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation and in-depth interviews with key figures in the FKUB. The results of the study indicate that the FKUB da'wah strategy focuses on a persuasive and dialogical approach, empowering religious figures as mediators, and utilizing social media as a means of digital da'wah. The challenges faced include misinterpretation of religious teachings, the negative influence of social media, and lack of participation of the younger generation. Therefore, this study recommends the implementation of an adaptive, participatory, and contextual da'wah approach to respond to contemporary socio-religious dynamics and strengthen interfaith harmony in Medan City.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of digital literacy, learning independence, and learning motivation on student achievement in the subject of cost planning and scheduling among Grade XI students of the Building Modeling and Information Design (DPIB) program at SMK Negeri 3 Yogyakarta. Using a quantitative ex post facto design, the study involved 99 students selected from a population of 131 through proportional cluster random sampling. Data on the independent variables were collected using validated questionnaires, while achievement scores were obtained from teacher assessments. The results of multiple regression analysis show that digital literacy, learning independence, and learning motivation each have a significant positive effect on learning achievement, both individually and simultaneously. These findings emphasize the need for vocational education to enhance students’ digital skills, promote self-directed learning, and foster motivation. The study offers practical insights for educators and curriculum planners and suggests further research to explore additional psychological or contextual factors affecting learning outcomes.

Abstract

In the digital era, the use of financial technology, especially e-wallets, is increasing among students due to its convenience and flexibility. However, limited studies have examined the influence of economic, lifestyle, and psychological factors on e-wallet usage, particularly among Islamic economics students. This study uses a quantitative method with a multiple linear regression approach, based on data from 100 respondents collected via online questionnaires. The results show that economic factors negatively influence e-wallet usage (coefficient = -0.276, sig. < 0.05), suggesting that higher economic status may reduce usage. Lifestyle has a positive influence (coefficient = 0.341, sig. < 0.05), indicating students with modern habits are more likely to use e-wallets. Psychological behavior is the most influential factor (coefficient = 0.768, sig. < 0.05), emphasizing the role of motivation, perception, and trust. The R² value of 0.632 indicates that 63.2% of e-wallet usage decisions are explained by these variables.

Abstract

This study investigates how a politician constructs and presents her virtual self through social media, focusing on Ananda, the elected Deputy Mayor of Banjarmasin for the 2025–2030 term. Employing a qualitative interpretative approach and virtual ethnography, this research explores strategies of self-representation, impression management, and emotional resonance in digital political communication during the 2024 regional election campaign. The analysis is grounded in dramaturgical theory and the concept of the virtual self, while also accounting for the digital cultural context that shapes symbolic interactions between politicians and the public. The findings indicate that Ananda’s self-representation on Instagram is perceived as authentic, consistent, and emotionally resonant with the digital public. The effectiveness of this strategy lies not only in an engaging and communicative online performance, but also in the alignment between her digital persona and offline presence. However, the study also affirms that political legitimacy continues to rely on structural factors such as political track record and party support. Consequently, social media is understood as a complementary arena that strengthens the affective bridge between politicians and society within the contemporary local political ecosystem.
