Abstract

The class for pregnant women is a study group for expectant mothers about overall health for pregnant women. The purpose of the class for pregnant women is to educate pregnant women so that they can go through the process of pregnancy and childbirth smoothly, as well as go through the early phases of the baby's life with the provision of basic knowledge. This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of pregnant women and the class participation of pregnant women. This research is an analytic research with cross sectional study design. The population in this study were all pregnant women at the Panombeian Panei Health Center as many as 53 people. The sample in this study uses total sampling. Data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to respondents. Data processing by editing, coding, entering, cleaning and tabulating data. Data analysis used the chi square test. The results showed that there was no correlation between parity (p=0.371) and class participation for pregnant women. There is a relationship between age (p=0.008), occupation (p=0.000) and pregnant women's class participation. Thus it is suggested to pregnant women to conduct counseling to health workers regarding the benefits of participating in pregnant women classes

Abstract

A safe and healthy learning environment plays an important role in improving the quality of education. This study aims to explore the effect of occupational health and safety education on improving the quality of the learning environment in schools. The research method used was a survey involving 200 respondents from 10 secondary schools in urban areas. The data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of structured questions about health education, work safety and the quality of the learning environment. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression techniques. The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between occupational health and safety education and improving the quality of the learning environment (p <0.05 ). These findings indicate that health education efforts that are integrated with work safety can contribute to improving the quality of the learning environment in schools. The discussion highlights the important role of occupational health and safety education in creating a learning environment that is safe, healthy and supports an effective learning process. Improving the quality of the learning environment can have a positive impact on student welfare, academic performance, and active participation in the educational process. Therefore, it is important for schools and policy makers to prioritize occupational health and safety education as an integral part of the education system.

Abstract

Introduction : Patient safety incidents are unintentional events and conditions that have the potential to result in preventable injury to patients so that patient safety incidents can affect the incident rate in hospitalization. Objective: To identify and analyze the incidence rate in the inpatient unit based on patient safety goals in the Hospital from 6 (six) patient safety goal elements. Method: The type of research used is quantitative with a cross sectional approach. The population and sample in this study used a saturated sampling technique with a total of 80 respondents. Results: Research using the chi square test includes identifying patients correctly with a p-value of 0.002 <0.05, increasing effective communication with a p-value of 0.002 <0.05, increasing drug safety needs to be watched out for with a p-value of 0.046 <0 .05, ensuring the correct location and surgical procedure in the patient with a p-value of 0.444 > 0.05, reducing the risk of infection related to health services has a p-value of 0.166 > 0.05, reducing the risk of injury to patients due to falls with a p-value of 0.016 < 0.05, against the incidence rate in hospitalization. Conclusion: There is an influence between the variables identifying the patient correctly, increasing effective communication, increasing drug safety needs to be watched out for, and reducing the risk of patient injury due to falls on the incidence rate in hospitalization and there is no influence between ensuring the location and surgical procedure in the correct patient, Reducing the risk of health care-associated infection to the incidence rate in hospitalization. Suggestions that can be given are SPO socialization and training for nurses in inpatients related to patient safety goals and communication and collaboration between teams are always improved in service.

Abstract

One of the causes of canker sores and bad breath is the presence of fungus in the oral cavity. This can be overcome by gargling using mouthwash. Research has been carried out on the formulation of mouthwash preparations from ethanol extract of carrot (Daucus carota L.) tubers as an antifungal against the growth of Candida albicans. Objectives: The aim of this study was to see the antifungal activity of carrot tuber extract mouthwash preparations. Methods: This research is a type of laboratory experimental research using the paper disc diffusion method on agar media to see the antifungal activity of carrot root extract mouthwash preparations. Carrot tuber extract mouthwash was made into four formulas, namely F0 (preparation without extract), F1 (5% carrot extract), F2 (15% carrot extract) and F3 (30% carrot extract). Evaluation of mouthwash preparations includes examination of organoleptic, pH, viscosity and stability. Results: indicate that mouthwash preparations can provide antifungal activity against the growth of Candida albicans. The diameter of the inhibition zone obtained at concentrations of 5% (2.9 mm), 15% (3.9 mm) and 30% (5.3 mm). All mouthwash formulations have a weak category of inhibitory power. The results of organoleptic evaluation, pH, viscosity and stability of mouthwash preparations gave good results, were stable and fulfilled the requirements for mouthwash preparations. Conclusion is that the ethanol extract of carrot root can be formulated into mouthwash and has weak antifungal activity.

Abstract

Background: An estimated that the number of smokers reaches 1.3 billion daily smokers worldwide. Some countries show a high prevalence of cigarette consumption among men, such as Russia 59.0%, Ukraine 49.4%, Morocco 45.4%, China 47.6%, Indonesia 76.2%, and Pakistan 41.9%. Thus, Asian countries such as Indonesia consume more cigarettes than Western countries. In the Western countries, there are some countries with the highest mortality rates caused by smoking for instance the United States of 492,400 annual mortality rates, and another one is Russia with more than 309,500 annual mortality rates. The next country in the Asia region with the highest annual mortality rate led by Indonesia, which is more than 225,700 annual mortality rates, then China has more than 195,200 annual mortality rates. One of the efforts to stop smoking is to conduct behavioral/psychological approaches such as counseling. Counseling or therapy can increase the tendency to stop smoking compared to not doing counseling.
