The research method used survey technique with descriptive analysis. The results showed that the rubber revenue obtained Rp 1.072.980,--/month. The contribution of this rubber is 39,83% (Rp 1.072.980,--) from total revenue of Rp 2.694.113,--. Four variables have significant effect on the income to the value in which Fhit = 3,45 > F(0,05;4-1)= 2,579 on the level analysis of 95%. Abstract

Kelulut Bees is a stingless bee that produces honey, in the area of Gunung Nyiut Nature Reserve Kelulut Bees lives naturally with nests on tree trunks. It is not yet known how the habitat and sources of feed so that it is necessary to do research on the study of habitat and feed sources of Kelulut Bees. This study aims to obtain information about the condition of habitat and feed sources of Kelulut Bees. The method used was a survey with double plots which purposively placed, then identified the condition of habitat and feed sources. Types of hornet bees found were: Heterotrigona itama, Tetragonula laeviceps, Geniotrigona thoracica, Trigona carbonaria and Trigona drescheri. The bees nesting place were in living trees is (52%), dead trees (20%) and soil (28%). Daily mean temperature, air humidity and light intensity were 28.81 °C, 83.06%, and 583.76%. Soil type is PMK with pH 4.4, soil temperature 26.6 C °, soil moisture 26%. Altitude ± 360 masl. Tree analysis was dominated by Xanthophyllum amoenum 36.38%, Lepisanthes tetraphylla 38.01%, Syzgium chloranthum 45.8%, and Bellucia pentamera seedlings 51.58%. The feed sources at the observation sites were dominated by the family Myrtaceae and Dipterocarpaceae, while outside the plots the feed source was dominated by Cocos nucifera L, Durio zibethinus, Nephelium lappaceum L, Syzygium aqueum. Keywords : Feed source, Gunung Nyiut, habitat, kelulut bees, Nature Reserve.

Abstract

The research aimed to know is for determine diversity of amphibians species as data in the amphibians conservation developments in the Gunung Ambawang Protected Forest Areas, Kubu District, Kubu Raya Regency. The method used in this research is a Visual Encounter Survey (VES) or Visual Encounter Survey combined with Transect System. The numbers of species found 11 species from 4 familys, with a total of 77 individuals consisted 3 individuals of Limnonectes malesianus, 4 individuals Rhacophorus pardalis, 18 individuals Limnonectes kuhlii, 4 individuals Hylarana baramica, 25 individuals Ansonia spinulifer, 4 individuals Fejevarya limnocharis, 1 individual Pseudobufo subasper, 6 individuals Hylarana chalconota, 4 individuals Hylarana erythraea, 3 individuals Bufo melanosticus and 5 individuals Hylarana nicobariensis. Highest diversity Index on aquatic habitats with the value = 0,8855, than for the transect level, highest diversity index on transect 1 with the value = 0,8846. Evenness index for each observation transect is not too different, the highest value on transect 4 (e = 0.6875), and the lowest on transect 6 (e = 0.5000). Similarity index between the aquatic habitat and terrestrial habitat by 84,21 % or more of most species are found in both habitats are almost same. Ansonia spinuliferis the greatest chance encounter with the value 0.6204 individuals per hour and the smallest chance encounter is Pseudobufo subasperwith the value 0.0278 individuals per hour with the total of chance encounter 1.9074 individuals per hour. Abstract

The majority of people at Podorukun village works as farmers and they have a vast rice field. The rice field is located near the mangrove forest which can potentially disrupt the preservation of mangrove forest it self. Besides, the peoples’s perception toward mangrove forest preservation essentially affect the existence of mangrove forest in podorukun village. The more positive the peoples’s perception, the more sustainable the mangrove forest. The study aims to describe the correlation between the people’s perception toward mangrove forest preservation and the level of income, knowledge, and dependency on the forest. This research was conducted through survey, which involved interview, the data were collected by applying purposive random sampling. The data was analyzed descriptively by using Chi Square statistic non-parametric and inferential using statistical test of Kendall Tau non-parametric Correlation. There were 84 heads of family as the respondents of this research. Result of this research showed that the perception trend is high, the income trend is low, the level of knowledge is high, the level of dependency on forest is high, and there is a non-significant positive correlation between the peoples’s perception and income, knowledge, and dependency level to forest. Keywords : forest preservation, Mangrove forest,  the people’s perception

Either ecological or conservation for the harborage against plasma nutfah resources of biodiversity and ecosystems which exist in Indonesia needs to manned and managed properly. Considering the importance of the role and functions of Gunung Palung National Park so its management needs to be supported by data and information that is complete, valid and actual. This research aimed access changes in land cover in Gunung Palung National Park residing in the district of North Kayong West Kalimantan Province between 2005 and 2012. The methodology used this research was supervised classification with Maximum Likelihood and visual, ground check spatial data analysis by using overlay for both data landsatETM7+image interpretation coverage on 2005 and data landsat ETM7+image interpretation coverage on 2012. The  research shows land cover on GunungPalung National Park residing in the district of North Kayong in 2012 was dominated by the Primary Swamp Forest of ± 39,27%, Primary Dryland Forest of ± 27,08% and Secondary Swamp Forest of ± 17,12%. Where as most small land cover is Grassland of ± 0,01%. The  biggest changed land cover occur in the Secondary Dryland Forests which decrease of ± 693,44 ha. The most significant changes when compared with the situation in 2005 is the Dryland Agriculture interference Bush that increased by ± 190,69%. Deforestation occurring is ± 1.122,21 ha (±160,32 ha/year), the degradation is ± 100,19 ha (±14.31 ha/year) as well as reforestation is ± 4.69 ha (± 0,67 ha/year). Abstract

Areca nut plant (Areca catechu L) had been used for adhesive medicine and tanner. Areca nut plant contained many tannins in the seed. Tannin was a component of organic substance which was very complex, consists of fenolic compound which was difficult to be separated and cristalize, precipate the protein from solution and compound with protein. This research purposed to know the influence of the heating lenght and optimum dust size along with the interaction of two factors above toward the level of tannin areca nut seed. This research was experiment used extraction method with the heating length about 2 hours, 3 hours, and 4 hours along with the dust size about 60 mesh, 80 mesh, and 100 mesh. The extract was tested to establish the highest level of active tannin. The result of various analysis investigation showed that the factor of heating length and dust size along with the interaction of two factors above were not influential toward the level of active tannin.  The level of optimum active tannin attained on the heating length about 3 hours with the dust size 80 mesh in the mount of 11,0022%. This study aims to determine the number of individuals and individuals density of bornean gibbon in lines interpretation baka hill in the region Bukit Baka Bukit Raya National Park Melawi District. Number of individuals were found at the time of the study with 6 lanes and 3 replication by 99 individuals with a mean number of individuals bornean gibbon at 33,0001 individuals. Results of data analysis on a 95% confidence interval bornean gibbon individuals density lies between 0,4377 individuals/Ha to 0,6621 individuals/Ha. Whereas the 99% confidence interval bornean gibbon individual density lies between 0,3625 individuals/Ha to 0,7373 individuals/Ha. To the number of individuals per hectare with 95% confidence interval obtained by the number of individuals throughtout the area ranged from 5 to 6 tails.
