Abstract

Nitrogen is an essential macronutrient required for plant growth and development. In its gaseous form (N₂), which is abundant in the atmosphere, nitrogen cannot be directly utilized by plants. Therefore, nitrogen fixation is needed to convert it into available forms such as ammonium (NH₄⁺) and nitrate (NO₃⁻). ₃⁻). The population of Azotobacter sp. in soil can be affected by land use types. This study aimed to examine the potential of free-living nitrogen-fixing bacteria in different land uses in Kayu Tanam Village, Mandor Subdistrict, Landak Regency. Soil samples were collected from this village and analyzed at laboratories in the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tanjungpura. The study was conducted from February to April 2025. Samples were taken diagonally from five points per site, with 50 m between points. Composite samples were taken 20 m from the center point. Observed parameters included bacterial population, potential, and characterization, pH, organic carbon, total nitrogen, C/N ratio, bulk density, moisture content, and soil temperature. Results showed the highest population in secondary forest (62.80 × 10⁵ CFU/g) and the lowest in oil palm land (46.20 × 10⁵ CFU/g). Secondary forest had six Azotobacter sp. types, indicating its high potential for nitrogen fixation.

Abstract

Tanah Aluvial memiliki karakteristik kimia yang unik dan sering menjadi tantangan dalam dunia pertanian karena tingkat kejenuhan basa yang bervariasi, pH masam, dan potensi hilangnya unsur hara akibat curah hujan yang tinggi.Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan ketersediaan unsur hara Nitrogen (N), Fosfor (P), dan Kalium (K) terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman jambu biji (Psidium guajava) di tanah aluvial di Desa Sungai Rengas, Kecamatan Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Metode yang digunakan berupa survey lapangan, pengambilan sampel tanah secara sistematis dengan metode diagonal pada tiga lokasi dengan dilakukan ulangan sehingga di diambil 9 sampel tanah, serta pengukuran parameter tanaman (tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pH tanah tergolong masam (5,11-5,29), N-total tergolong sedang (0,33"“0,38%), P-tersedia sangat tinggi (155,08"“252,26 ppm), K-dd bervariasi dari rendah hingga sedang (0,31"“0,55 cmol(+)kg-1), C-organik juga bervariasi dari tinggi hingga sangat tinggi (2,50-3,31%), Kapasitas Tukar Kation tergolong rendah (11,49-13,89 cmol(+)kg-1) dan Kejenuhan Basa bervariasi dari tinggi hingga sangat tinggi (60,78-82,72%). Korelasi dilakukan untuk melihat hubungan antara parameter tanaman dengan sifat kimia tanah dan menyusun rekomendasi pemupukan.
