Abstract

This descriptive quantitative survey study aims to determine the proficiency level of underhand serving skills among eighth-grade female students participating in the volleyball extracurricular program at SMP Negeri 6 Lawe Sigala-Gala during the 2025/2026 academic year. The research employed a standardized testing methodology, utilizing the AAHPER (American Alliance for Health, Physical Education and Recreation) Serving Accuracy Test as the primary instrument for data collection. The subject pool consisted of 20 female students, each granted five attempts to execute an underhand serve into a target grid scoring system (1-4 points per serve, with a maximum possible score of 20). The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including measures of central tendency and frequency distribution, and categorized into five proficiency levels: Very High, High, Moderate, Low, and Very Low. The findings reveal a notably high level of underhand serve proficiency among the participants. The mean score achieved was 69.75 out of a maximum 100, with a highest individual score of 90 and a lowest of 50. The distribution across categories showed that 70% of students (n=14) were classified in the 'High' proficiency category, 20% (n=4) in the 'Very High' category, and the remaining 10% (n=2) in the 'Moderate' category. No students fell into the 'Low' or 'Very Low' categories. Furthermore, 90% of the participants (n=18) met or exceeded the minimum passing standard. These results strongly indicate that the majority of the students have successfully mastered the fundamental technique of the underhand serve. The study concludes by recommending the continuation of regular and structured practice, the sustained application of engaging, game-based pedagogical approaches, and the ongoing institutional support through the provision of adequate facilities and infrastructure to maintain and further elevate skill levels.

Abstract

This systematic literature review explores how institutional theory has been applied in research on organizations and management between 2020 and 2025. Its primary objective is to identify key themes, theoretical perspectives, research methods, and gaps in the recent institutional literature. The research process followed the PRISMA protocol, analyzing 20 Scopus-indexed journal articles. The results indicate that research has evolved from traditional approaches such as legitimacy and isomorphism to concepts such as institutional logics, institutional work, and integration with sustainability and human resource management studies. Methodologically, qualitative case studies and quantitative cross-sectional studies predominate, while conceptual articles and systematic reviews also play a significant role. Key gaps identified include a lack of longitudinal research, a limited focus on developing countries, and limited exploration of micro-level institutional processes. The study concludes with recommendations for future research directions to make institutional theory more relevant to the challenges of modern organizations.

Abstract

This paper explores the issue and role of the church amidst poverty. Poverty is a crucial social issue that the church focuses on in its efforts to present the gospel and the kingdom of God. This paper uses the thoughts of Gustavo Guititerrez as a surgical tool to examine how the church should carry out its social function in addressing the issue of poverty. Poverty is seen as arising from structural injustice, and therefore the church must be present as part of its social responsibility. Therefore, Guititerrez offers a Liberation Theology perspective that synthesizes faith and action. This paper is qualitative in nature with a literature study approach. Therefore, data was obtained through a review of journals and books directly relevant to this research. This study found that the church must be present amidst the issue of poverty. The theological basis of the church's responsibility towards poverty lies in the recognition that God is on the side of the poor. The church is called to be a community of liberation—a fellowship that speaks not only of love but also lives in solidarity with the poor. According to Gutiérrez, the church's social service must be transformative, not merely charitable.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the application and development of the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) Theory across various research contexts between 2020 and 2024. The theory, introduced by Everett M. Rogers, is typically used to explain how innovations are adopted, spread, and sustained in social systems. However, with the rapid development of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and new technologies, there is a need to reassess how this theory has been applied and developed in recent years. This study uses the PRISMA method, following the stages of identifying, screening, and analyzing articles from databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar. A total of 20 relevant articles were reviewed and categorized based on the research field, methods used, and key findings. The results show that the DOI theory remains relevant in various fields, such as information technology, healthcare, education, digital finance, and the public sector. The development of the theory has shifted its focus from technological characteristics and users' rational decisions, towards psychological, social, organizational, and environmental factors. Several factors such as trust, perceived security, management support, organizational readiness, and user experience have been shown to be key determinants of successful innovation adoption. These findings indicate that DOI theory has now evolved into a more human-focused, flexible, and context-appropriate model, thus being able to explain the innovation adoption process amidst the digital era, the pandemic, and increasingly rapid technological advances.

Abstract

Social Exchange Theory is an important foundation for explaining relationships and interactions between humans. This study aims to examine how this theory has been used, explained, and developed by researchers over the past five years, from 2020 to 2024. This study was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, analyzing various articles published in reputable journals such as Scopus and Google Scholar. Twenty articles were used in this study. The analysis shows that social exchange theory has undergone a shift in its perspective, from initially emphasizing economic exchange and rational logic to now focusing more on psychology, moral values, and humanism. Throughout its development, this theory has not only explained relationships between individuals and organizations but also encompassed digital relationships and focused on sustainability. Concepts such as trust, reciprocity, fairness, and sustainability have become key elements that indicate the direction of this theory's development. Thus, Social Exchange Theory is now considered not merely a theory of reciprocity but rather a general framework for understanding the meaning and trust that connect people in various social relationships.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of leadership and the work environment on employee performance, with human resource development (HRD) serving as a mediating variable within a local government context. This research addresses the persistent issue of low employee productivity and limited professional growth in Indonesia's public sector, where leadership practices are predominantly transactional and developmental programs are underutilized. Employing a quantitative and explanatory approach, data were collected from civil servants at the Melayu Village Office, Tenggarong, East Kalimantan. The analysis utilized partial least squares structural equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) via SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that leadership has a significant positive effect on both HRD and employee performance, whereas work environment does not directly impact performance. Additionally, HRD mediates the relationship between leadership and employee performance but does not mediate the connection between the work environment and performance. These findings underscore HRD as a strategic mechanism by which leadership enhances employee outcomes. Theoretically, this study extends the human capital and transformational leadership frameworks to the public sector in developing countries. Practically, it emphasizes the importance of leadership-driven HRD programs in cultivating a competent, motivated, and high-performance workforce within local government institutions.
