Abstract

This study examines the application of the takrir method as a tahfidz learning strategy within the formal curriculum system of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach and was conducted at MI At-Taqwa in Bondowoso. The primary participants included tahfidz teachers, tahfidz homeroom teachers, students, and parents, who served as supporting informants. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The study’s results revealed four main aspects. First, the tahfidz learning plan is systematically developed through the establishment of phased memorization targets (1 juz per year), integration into the curriculum, and structured time allocation in the morning using the corner mushaf. Second, the implementation of learning emphasizes a balance between memorization review (muroja’ah) and the addition of new memorization through binnadzor and bilghaib activities, as well as individual memorization recitations that begin with the preparation of the Quran and prayer. Third, evaluation is conducted continuously through daily recitations, weekly assessments, pre-munaqosah recitations, as well as mid- and end-of-semester munaqosah as a form of quality control for memorization. Fourth, tahfidz learning is supported by the active role and motivation of teachers, student motivation, parental involvement, and the support of a muroja’ah schedule and audio media, with obstacles including differences in memorization ability, lack of muroja’ah, boredom, the similarity of mutasyabihat verses, and limited learning time. This study concludes that the takrir method contributes to creating structured, consistent, and sustainable tahfidz learning in elementary madrasahs. Theoretically, this study reinforces the importance of repetition-based learning in memorizing the Qur’an. Practically, this study underscores the need for adaptive and well-managed learning strategies in integrating tahfidz into the formal education system.

Abstract

The phenomenon of Islamic elementary education shows that Guidance and Counseling services in Islamic Elementary Schools still tend to be oriented towards handling behavioral problems and have not been systematically directed at strengthening students' capabilities for substantive freedom to develop academically, socially, and spiritually. This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening student capabilities through an ecological counseling approach at SDI Surya Buana, Malang City. The study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal, class teachers, and guidance counselors, participant observation of learning practices and character building, and documentation studies of school programs. Data analysis was conducted thematically through reduction, categorization, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that strengthening student capability occurs through the integration of self-regulation habits in the classroom, school-parent collaboration, a reflective culture based on Islamic values, and preventive-developmental counseling interventions. The ecological approach allows for synergy between the classroom environment, school policies, and family parenting patterns in shaping student agency and resilience. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of developing a systemic, collaborative, and capability-expanding counseling service model for Islamic elementary schools as the foundation for transformative Islamic basic education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the fact that many students remain passive in the learning process and struggle to understand the topic “Daerahku Kebanggaanku,” resulting in suboptimal learning outcomes. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of implementing a STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on improving students’ learning activities and outcomes in IPAS. The STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning model is a project-based instructional approach that can develop essential 21st-century skills, such as communication, teamwork, analytical thinking, and creativity. During the project process, students learn to collaborate, express ideas, and solve problems collectively. This approach not only prepares students for academic success but also equips them to become adaptive and innovative individuals in facing future challenges. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, with the research subjects being students of class VA at SDN Sukun 1 Malang City. The instruments used included learning outcome evaluation tests, learning activity questionnaires, and observation sheets. Data analysis was conducted using the paired-samples t-test in SPSS 26.00. The results of the study indicated a significant improvement in students’ learning activities and outcomes after the implementation of the STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning model. These findings demonstrate that the STEAM-integrated Project Based Learning model is effective for use in IPAS learning to enhance students’ learning activities and outcomes. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in implementing project-based learning models and to contribute to the development of contextual and engaging IPAS instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at MI Sirojul Athfal on mixed integer operations through the application of Quizzi learning media. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which is implemented in two cycles. The research subjects consisted of fourth-grade students with data collection techniques through interviews with teachers, distributing questionnaires to four students, observing the learning process, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that students experience various difficulties in learning mathematics, including negative perceptions of mathematics as a difficult subject, low learning motivation, obstacles in group work, lack of self-confidence, minimal interest in learning, and weak understanding of basic concepts. The application of Quizzi media in the learning process has been proven to be able to increase student engagement and enthusiasm. This has an impact on significant improvements in learning outcomes in each cycle. In the second cycle, the level of student learning completion has reached 80%, so the study was stopped because it has met the established success indicators. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of Quizzi media is effective in improving student learning outcomes on mixed integer operations. This study provides implications that the use of interactive learning media can be an alternative innovative strategy in improving the quality of mathematics learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Modern education still tends to view learning as a continuous conscious activity, thereby overlooking the role of the resting phase in the cognitive process. This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of napping in tahfidz learning as a philosophical phenomenon through the perspectives of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The study was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyyah Pesantren-Based through observations of 530 students and in-depth interviews with students, teachers, and religious leaders, using a qualitative approach grounded in philosophical-contextual analysis. The results indicate that napping serves as a rhythmic structure in learning, bridging phases of activity and consolidation. Students experience improved fluency in memorization, reduced errors, and enhanced clarity of thought after napping. These findings affirm that knowledge is formed not only through conscious processes but also through latent processes operating in silence. Furthermore, this practice contributes to emotional stability, psychological balance, and a more human-centered learning experience. The primary novelty of this study lies in the formulation of the concept of “silent epistemology” as a new paradigm in tahfidz education. Its implications point toward the reconstruction of learning designs that are more aligned with students’ biological rhythms and spiritual needs.

Abstract

Oxygen sustains life, yet in elementary education, it is often treated as an abstract concept detached from real-world experience. This study examines how understanding of oxygen is constructed through tree-planting activities. The approach used was a qualitative case study, with data collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation from October to December 2023 in SD Negeri Harjowinangun 02 Dempet Demak. The results reveal a multi-layered transformation. On the cognitive dimension, students transitioned from a general understanding to recognising the cause-and-effect relationship between trees and oxygen. On the affective dimension, emotional engagement emerged in the form of ecological concern and empathy. On the social dimension, collective responsibility was fostered through collaborative practices and social control. These three dimensions are integrated into a single experience-based learning process. These findings confirm that concrete experiences serve as an epistemic bridge connecting scientific concepts with living ecological awareness. The novelty of this research lies in the development of oxygen-based ecological pedagogy as an integrative model that unites experience, reflection, emotion, and social practice. This model expands science learning toward contextual practice and strengthens sustainable environmental education

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the application of in-depth learning through historical study tours to improve the motivation to learn of fourth-grade elementary school students. The study used a qualitative, descriptive approach and was conducted at SDN Mulyorejo 1 in Malang City. The research subjects consisted of two teachers and six students, selected purposively. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, and were analyzed using an interactive analysis model with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that implementing in-depth learning through a historical study tour at Badut Temple can create more meaningful, contextual, and enjoyable learning. This activity increases student active engagement through direct observation, discussion, and interaction with resource persons. Furthermore, there is an increase in student learning motivation, as demonstrated by increased activity, curiosity, and enthusiasm in participating in the learning. This experiential learning also strengthens conceptual understanding and fosters character values such as responsibility, cooperation, and concern for cultural heritage. Thus, in-depth learning through historical study tours can be an effective strategy for increasing elementary school students' learning motivation, though its implementation requires careful planning, adequate time, and financial support.

Abstract

College students are vulnerable to radicalism and the spread of hoaxes that may trigger conflict and disrupt learning. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the effect of implementing local content-based e-modules on strengthening religious moderation among students of the PGMI Study Program. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental design, while the sample was selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire measuring religious moderation based on indicators of acceptance of local culture aligned with Pancasila values. The data were analyzed using inferential statistical tests to determine the significance of the effect. The findings revealed a significant influence of local content-based e-modules on strengthening students’ religious moderation, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. The e-modules were proven effective not only as teaching materials but also in improving students’ understanding and attitudes toward religious moderation, including tolerance and interreligious harmony. The study concludes that local content-based e-modules play an important role in strengthening religious moderation among college students. The implications highlight the importance of integrating religious moderation values into the curriculum through curriculum revitalization, collaboration with religious moderation centers, and lecturer training programs.
