Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of the Interactive Media-Assisted Problem-Based Learning model on critical thinking skills in Grade 5 Indonesian subjects. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of the Interactive Media-Assisted Problem Based Learning model on critical thinking skills in Grade 5 Indonesian subjects. This study uses a quantitative method, Pre-Experimental Design with the type of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population and sample used were 22 students in grade 5 of SDI Sultan Agung 1.3 using saturated sampling techniques. Data analysis techniques include prerequisite tests (validity, reliability, differentiation, and difficulty tests) and condition tests (normality tests and paired sample t tests). The results of the study with SPSS showed that the data was normally distributed and from the paired test the t test produced the same calculation between the test and the questionnaire, namely the value of Sig 2-tailed = 0.000 < α = 0.05, then H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted, which means that there is a difference in the Problem Based Learning model.Assisted by interactive media for critical thinking skills in grade 5 Indonesian subjects. This research is only limited to Indonesian subjects in grade 5 of elementary school. Therefore, further research can be conducted to look at the effectiveness of interactive media-assisted PBL models in other subjects to provide a broader picture of the application of PBL in the context of primary education in general.

Abstract

Inclusive education is one of the alternatives to equitable distribution of education in Indonesia. Inclusive education also provides opportunities for students to be equal in their rights to education and socialization for inclusion students more freely. This study aims to analyze the implementation of inclusive education at the School of Universe (SOU), Parung, Bogor. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that SOU, a nature school, has been implementing inclusive education since its inception. The curriculum at SOU is adapted through duplication and modification strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students, and trained co-teachers are involved in learning and extracurricular activities to support students with special needs. Inclusive evaluations at SOU are conducted periodically with a special assessment format to monitor the progress of each student. The research also identified the main challenges in the form of limited learning facilities and the capacity of available support staff. Nonetheless, the findings show that inclusion practices at SOU reflect the school's strong commitment to equitable inclusion education, where every student gets the opportunity to learn as they need.

Abstract

Islamic elementary education plays a strategic role in shaping students’ religious character and spiritual awareness from an early age. One increasingly relevant learning innovation in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is the implementation of hajj and umrah ritual simulations (manasik) as a form of experiential learning that integrates cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. Through these activities, students not only learn the procedural aspects of worship but also internalize values such as discipline, responsibility, cooperation, and sincerity. However, in many Islamic educational institutions, these activities have not been managed systematically in accordance with the principles of Islamic educational management, resulting in suboptimal effectiveness. This study aims to analyze the management of hajj and umrah ritual simulation activities in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah through three main management functions: planning, implementation, and evaluation. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were obtained from primary and secondary sources. Primary data involved 12 informants consisting of one madrasah principal, six supervising teachers, and five members of the manasik activity committee, while secondary data included planning documents, activity reports, and other supporting archives. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the implementation of manasik activities reflects spiritually value-based management, participatory involvement, and reflective evaluation of changes in students’ religious attitudes. This study produces the Experiential Manasik Management Model (MEMM), which integrates Islamic spiritual values with the modern management cycle, thereby contributing to the development of theory and practice in worship-based Islamic educational management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' perceptions and satisfaction with the free nutritious meal program and to examine the efficiency of fund allocation from an economic and Islamic social justice perspective. Field research was conducted on 190 students from three elementary schools in Central Java using a mixed-method approach. Quantitative data were obtained through surveys, while qualitative data were collected through interviews with teachers, parents, cooks, and education observers. The results show that 91% of students prefer food cooked by their parents to food provided en masse by external parties. The main factors influencing student dissatisfaction include the poor taste of the food, concerns about food poisoning, and the fact that much of the food is not eaten at school but taken home or thrown away. From an efficiency perspective, providing cash assistance of IDR 15,000 directly to parents is considered more economical because it avoids operational costs and allows the National Nutrition Agency to continue monitoring nutrition. In addition, an analysis of social justice based on Islamic law shows that the program should focus on poor students (around 9% of the population), so that distribution is more equitable and the budget can be redirected to support primary school needs or improve teacher welfare. This study emphasizes that free nutritious food policies require a more adaptive approach that considers student satisfaction, budget efficiency, and social justice principles, so the goal of improving child nutrition can be optimally achieved.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of meaning concretization in teaching Arabic body-part vocabulary in Islamic primary education. Grounded in theories of embodied cognition and meaning-based language learning, the study employs a qualitative classroom-based research design conducted at an Islamic primary school in Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations, instructional documents, and teacher reflections to examine how physical demonstration, visual support, and contextual usage influence students’ vocabulary comprehension and engagement. The findings indicate that meaning concretization facilitates deeper semantic understanding by enabling learners to associate Arabic lexical items directly with bodily experience rather than relying on memorization or translation. Students demonstrated improved responsiveness, reduced hesitation, and greater confidence during vocabulary learning activities. In addition to cognitive benefits, concretized instruction fostered positive affective responses, including increased engagement and lower levels of anxiety. These findings suggest that meaning concretization aligns closely with the developmental characteristics of young learners, whose learning processes are strongly grounded in sensory and experiential interaction. The study contributes to Arabic language pedagogy by extending embodied learning perspectives into early vocabulary instruction within Islamic educational contexts. Practically, it offers Arabic teachers a developmentally appropriate and low-cost instructional strategy to enhance vocabulary learning while supporting a positive classroom atmosphere. The study concludes that meaning concretization represents a viable and effective approach for early Arabic vocabulary instruction in Islamic primary education.

Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the influence of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on elementary students’ creativity in IPAS learning when viewed from gender differences in Sukun District, Malang City. The study was motivated by the limited development of students’ creativity, which is often associated with the predominance of teacher-centered instructional practices. As a student-oriented approach, PjBL is believed to encourage active participation, creative thinking, and collaborative engagement in IPAS learning. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design was applied in this study. The participants were fourth-grade students drawn from three public elementary schools: SDN Sukun 3, SDN Pisangcandi 1, and SDN Mulyorejo 1. Data were gathered using creativity tests and questionnaires. The analysis employed MANOVA after fulfilling the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. The findings demonstrate that: (1) the PjBL model significantly influences students’ creativity in IPAS learning; (2) creativity levels differ between male and female students; and (3) no significant interaction effect was found between the learning model and gender. These results confirm that PjBL effectively enhances creativity while providing equitable learning opportunities for both genders. The study contributes to the development of innovative and gender-responsive IPAS instruction at the elementary level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of jump rope on leg muscle strength in physical education classes for sixth-grade elementary school students. Traditional games are movement-based activities designed to support students' physical development through active participation. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental nonequivalent control group design was used in this study. Participants were sixth-grade students divided into an experimental group (n = 23) and a control group (n = 24). The experimental group received physical education through the traditional jump-rope game, while the control group received conventional instruction. Before the analysis, normality and homogeneity tests were conducted to determine the appropriate statistical procedure. Leg muscle strength was measured using a vertical jump test administered at the pretest and posttest. Data analysis focused on group differences using the Mann–Whitney test on change scores (posttest–pretest). The Mann–Whitney test results showed a U value of 176,000, Z = -2.279, and a p-value of 0.023 (< 0.05), confirming a significant difference between the experimental and control groups. These findings indicate that the traditional jump-rope game is effective at increasing leg muscle strength. This study was limited to leg muscle strength; further research could explore the broader impact on other motor skills and across different educational contexts.
