Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Social Media Marketing Activities (SMMA) and lifestyle on Generation Z purchasing decisions at coffee shops in Garut. A quantitative research approach was employed using a survey method involving 180 Generation Z respondents who had previously made purchases at coffee shops and actively used social media. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings reveal that lifestyle has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions, with a path coefficient of 0.611 (t = 9.791; p < 0.001), while Social Media Marketing Activities also demonstrate a positive and significant effect, with a coefficient of 0.291 (t = 4.538; p < 0.001). The R² value of 0.701 indicates that both variables explain 70.1% of the variance in purchasing decisions. These results suggest that lifestyle exerts a more dominant influence than social media marketing activities in shaping Generation Z purchasing decisions. This study provides practical implications for coffee shop businesses to integrate digital marketing strategies with experience and value creation aligned with young consumers’ lifestyles. Theoretically, this research contributes to the enrichment of consumer behavior literature, particularly within non-metropolitan contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy, lifestyle, and financial attitudes on the financial behavior of students at Universitas Mega Buana Palopo. The background of this research is the growing trend of consumptive and hedonistic lifestyles driven by social media and the convenience of online shopping, which often results in less optimal financial management among students. The research method employs a quantitative approach with respondents consisting of students from Universitas Mega Buana Palopo who come from diverse economic backgrounds and demonstrate a high level of technology utilization. The independent variables in this study include financial literacy, lifestyle, and financial attitudes, while the dependent variable is students’ financial behavior. The literature review indicates that financial literacy, lifestyle, and financial attitudes significantly influence financial behavior. A sound understanding of financial concepts, a controlled lifestyle, and disciplined as well as responsible attitudes are key factors in shaping healthy financial behavior among students. The results of the discussion show that financial literacy and financial attitudes have a positive and significant contribution to forming healthy financial behavior, where a good understanding of financial concepts and a disciplined attitude help students manage budgets more systematically. Conversely, lifestyle was found to have no significant effect on the financial behavior of students at Universitas Mega Buana Palopo. This is presumably because the average income of students is at a similar level, leading them to prioritize essential needs over personal desires or mere lifestyle trends. Simultaneously, financial literacy, lifestyle, and financial attitudes contribute 87.2% to students' financial behavior. This research is expected to support the improvement of literacy and personal financial management in higher education institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze internal control as an integral part of the Management Control System (MCS) in the sales and cash receipts processes at XYZ Auto Repair Shop. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the owner, administrative staff, and cashier. The findings indicate that sales and cash receipt activities are still conducted manually without adequate segregation of duties, sequential document numbering, and daily cash reconciliation. An evaluation based on the COSO Internal Control–Integrated Framework reveals weaknesses particularly in control activities and monitoring components. These conditions contribute to recording delays, recurring cash discrepancies, and operational inefficiencies. The study recommends implementing a computerized recording system, establishing clear segregation of duties, applying systematic document numbering, and strengthening daily reconciliation procedures to enhance accuracy and control effectiveness. The findings emphasize that structured internal control plays a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness of MCS in service-oriented businesses.

The results indicate that partially, CR has a positive and significant effect on ROA, while DER has a negative and insignificant effect on ROA. Simultaneously, CR and DER influence ROA. The coefficient of determination value shows that the independent variables can explain part of the profitability variation, while the rest is influenced by other variables outside the research model. This study concludes that good capital structure management plays a role in maintaining the company's profitability level.
