Abstract

This study aims to analyze the synergy between teachers and parents in supervising gadget use among early childhood children based on Islamic values in the Environment 12 area of Binjai City. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, parents, and school principals in early childhood education (PAUD) and kindergarten institutions within the area. The findings reveal that the synergy between teachers and parents is formed through three main dimensions: (1) informative synergy, which involves sharing information about children’s digital behavior; (2) educative synergy, in which both parties cooperate to guide children in using gadgets in a healthy and purposeful manner; and (3) value-based synergy, reflecting a mutual understanding that digital supervision must be grounded in Islamic principles such as amanah (trustworthiness), adab (good manners), muraqabah (self-awareness of God’s supervision), iffah (modesty), and qana’ah (contentment). The study concludes that Islamic values function not only as a moral filter but also as an effective educational strategy in shaping children’s Islamic digital behavior. The collaborative model of teacher–parent partnership grounded in Islamic values represents the novelty of this research and offers a practical framework for early childhood education in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in Islamic education learning for early childhood at PAUD Terpadu Harokah and to assess its impact on the effectiveness of teaching Islamic values. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving teachers, principals, and parents. The findings reveal that the implementation of digital technology—such as interactive videos, Islamic learning applications for children, and educational animations—has enhanced students’ learning interest, understanding of Islamic concepts, and active participation in classroom activities. The integration of technology also strengthens the introduction of Islamic values, including manners, moral character, worship practices, and tauhid, in a contextual and engaging way. However, the study also indicates that the use of digital technology must be balanced with direct habituation of Islamic values to maintain children’s social and spiritual interactions. This research emphasizes the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents in guiding the use of technology aligned with the principles of Islamic education. The findings contribute theoretically to the development of a model for integrating digital technology in Islamic education and provide practical recommendations for Islamic early childhood institutions to optimize digital-based learning that fosters both character and spiritual values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation, impact, and innovation of tawhid (monotheism) learning through the Qur’anic storytelling method at RA Al-Habib. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explores the experiences of teachers, students, and parents in understanding the values of tawhid through Qur’anic stories. The results show that the implementation of the Qur’anic storytelling method transforms the learning paradigm from a cognitive-transmissive approach into a narrative one that is emotional, contextual, and spiritual. Children not only comprehend the concept of the Oneness of Allah cognitively but also internalize tawhid values in their daily behavior through reflective activities and concrete experiences. Teachers utilize interactive media such as puppets, illustrations, and symbolic play to bring the stories to life, making learning more engaging and meaningful. The impact of this learning approach is reflected in the children’s enhanced spiritual awareness, active participation, and strong emotional engagement with tawhid values. This research offers an innovative, integrative, and applicable tawhid learning model based on Qur’anic stories, which is relevant to the development of Islamic education curricula for early childhood. Theoretically, this study strengthens the concept of narrative-based spiritual pedagogy, while practically it contributes to the design of humanistic, inspiring, and contextual learning models in RA institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers and parents in fostering early childhood love for the Qur’an in the era of globalization, with a case study conducted at RA Muslimat NU Gunungsitoli. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research involved interviews, observations, and documentation with teachers, the principal, and parents of students. The findings reveal that children’s love for the Qur’an is developed through synergistic collaboration between teachers and parents, encompassing habituation, exemplary behavior, and the creation of a Qur’an-friendly environment. Teachers act as facilitators of values and spiritual role models through contextual learning and the use of Islamic digital media, while parents serve as reinforcers of Qur’anic values through home-based guidance. Globalization serves as a double edged factor: presenting challenges in the form of digital distractions while also offering opportunities through interactive technology-based learning media. Effective collaboration between teachers and parents is realized through regular communication, joint Qur’an activities, and educational use of technology. This study emphasizes that children’s love for the Qur’an is not an instant outcome but an integrative process between home and school education that adapts to global challenges. The findings provide both theoretical and practical contributions to the development of early childhood Qur’anic education models in Indonesian Islamic institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of teachers in internalizing the values of tawhid amid the influence of modern culture in early childhood education, with a case study conducted at TK Yayasan Pendidikan Islam. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research explores teachers’ experiences and strategies in instilling the value of the Oneness of Allah in children living in a digital and consumerist era. The findings reveal that teachers play a central role as spiritual educators, moral exemplars (uswah hasanah), and mediators between school and family. The main challenges encountered include the penetration of digital culture, hedonistic tendencies, and weak continuity of religious education at home. To address these challenges, teachers employ three primary strategies: modeling and habituation of religious practices, contextualizing tawhid values through modern learning media, and fostering collaboration with parents. This approach demonstrates teachers’ adaptive ability to integrate technology without losing the essence of Islamic values. The study contributes to the theoretical development of Islamic early childhood education by offering a new paradigm of tawhid internalization that is contextual, integrative, and relevant to the challenges of modernity. Practically, the results of this study can serve as a reference for Islamic kindergartens in strengthening spiritually grounded learning programs that remain adaptive to contemporary developments.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation, contribution, and sustainability of the Living Qur’an program within the Magrib Mengaji activities at Masjid Muslimin, Medan City, as a means of shaping Qur’anic character among children and adolescents. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explores the experiences of teachers, participants, parents, and mosque administrators in enlivening Qur’anic values through activities of reading, understanding, and practicing the teachings of the Qur’an in daily life. The findings indicate that the Magrib Mengaji program not only focuses on the technical ability to read the Qur’an but also emphasizes the internalization of moral and social values such as discipline, responsibility, and compassion. The synergy between teachers, mosque administrators, and parents serves as a key factor in the program’s success. Furthermore, the sustainability of the program is supported by structured management, resource availability, and active community participation. Despite challenges such as attendance fluctuation and limited contextual learning materials, value-based learning innovations and socio-religious activities have strengthened the mosque’s role as a center for Qur’anic character education. Theoretically, this study contributes to the development of a community-based Living Qur’an concept, while practically providing a sustainable model of non-formal religious education within the mosque environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the form, impact, and context of fiqh learning innovation in shaping the religious character of early childhood students at RA Al-Hikmah, Medan City. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explores the experiences of teachers, children, and parents through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of learning activities. The findings reveal that fiqh learning innovation at RA Al-Hikmah is developed through play-based learning, storytelling, and project-based learning approaches that integrate worship values into children’s daily activities. Teachers also utilize educational digital media and create a religious learning environment, such as a mini mushalla, to strengthen the habituation of spiritual values. These innovations have a significant impact on the development of children’s religious character across five main dimensions: discipline, responsibility, honesty, social awareness, and spiritual consciousness. Furthermore, parental involvement through the school-family integration program enhances the continuity of religious values at home. The study concludes that contextual, enjoyable, and developmentally appropriate fiqh learning can effectively bridge the normative teachings of Islam with the challenges of the digital era. These findings are expected to serve as both a conceptual and practical model for Islamic early childhood education institutions in developing holistic and adaptive fiqh learning aligned with modern educational needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the principal’s strategies in strengthening quality culture at the Islamic educational institution of SMK Bina Taruna 1 Medan. The background of this research stems from the need for Islamic-based vocational schools to not only produce graduates who are competent in vocational skills but also possess strong religious character as part of their institutional identity. This research employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach to explore the experiences, perceptions, and interpretations of the principal, teachers, administrative staff, and students regarding the implementation of quality culture. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and the extraction of essential meanings. The findings show that the principal strengthens quality culture through visionary leadership, religious role-modelling, academic supervision, habituation of Islamic values, enhancement of teacher professionalism, and reinforcement of partnerships with industry and the community. The implementation of quality culture is evident through the integration of spiritual values with vocational standards, the application of industry-based learning, reinforcement of discipline, and continuous monitoring and evaluation. Supporting factors include strong leadership commitment, the school’s religious character, active participation of teachers and staff, and community support. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors involve inconsistency among some school members, limited facilities, and the influence of the surrounding social environment. This study offers novelty in the form of integrating quality management and Islamic values within the context of vocational schools, demonstrating that strengthening quality culture relies not only on formal policies but also on the internalization of religious values and exemplary leadership.
