Abstract

Aristotle’s conception of εὺδαιμονια is identical with Psalmist’s (Psalm 1) conception of happiness vizἐνέργεια. According to Aristotle, human’s εὺδαιμονια is ἐνέργεια of the rational element of a human being by its ἀρετη viz. ἀρίστην καὶ τελειοτάτην. Psalmist, on the other hand, shows that happiness is contemplating Torah every moment. In this paper, I will show that we can understand Psalmist’s conception of happiness more accurately by using Aristotelian Ethics. I will then suggest by using Aristotelian reading on Psalm I that Christian Education viz. Theology should pursue εὺδαιμονια as its end.AbstrakKonsep εὺδαιμονια Aristoteles dan kebahagiaan Pemazmur (Mazmur I) memiliki kesamaan pada definisi bahwa εὺδαιμονια dan kebahagiaan  adalah sebuah ἐνέργεια. Menurut Aristotle, εὺδαιμονια manusia adalah ἐνέργεια elemen rasional manusia bersesuaian dengan ἀρετη-nya, secara spesifik ἀρίστην καὶ τελειοτάτην. Sementara itu Pemazmur menunjukkan bahwa formulasi kebahagiaan adalah merenungkan Torah sepanjang waktu. Dalam tulisan ini, saya ingin menunjukkan bahwa dengan menggunakan kacamata Etika Aristotle kita bisa memahami konsep kebahagiaan Pemazmur secara lebih mendalam. Melalui pemahaman Mazmur I secara Aristotelian pula saya menyarankan bahwa pendidikan Kristen, secara khusus Teologi harus menjadikan εὺδαιμονια sebagai tujuan akhirnya.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to analyze the correlation of character education and spiritual interest with student behavior. This research was conducted in the North Sumatran SMTK/SMAK. The method used in quantitative correlation research. The sample in the research was 94 students. The research instrument used a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test, linearity test, and Pearson Bivariate correlation test. The results of the study: concluded as follows: First, Character Education is positively correlated with Student Behavior in North Sumatran SMTK/SMAK, but not very significant. Second, spiritual interest is positively correlated with student behavior in North Sumatran SMTK/SMAK, but not very significant. Third, PAK's Character Education and Spiritual Interests are jointly positively correlated with Student Behavior in North Sumatran SMTK/SMAK, but not significantly.  Keywords: Character education, interests, spirituality, behavior, students

Abstract

During its development, generation Z Christians experience moral decadence because they want to fulfill their own interests. in various ways they try to have their wishes fulfilled and they unwittingly neglect their spiritual growth. This also cannot be separated from the attention of the church to provide guidance for generation Z Christians and to grow the efficiency of the church in the world. Departing from these facts, this research was made to become a guide for practitioners of guiding church members in increasing the spiritual intelligence of generation Z Christians through pastoral counseling. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with literature studies obtained from print and electronic sources. From this research, it is found the important role of pastoral counseling which is very effective to be applied for the formation of Z Christian generation. This result is supported by the efforts made in pastoral counseling of generation Z Christians, which are not coercive and do not create dependence on others in increasing their spiritual intelligence. Therefore, the church needs to seek pastoral counseling to increase the spiritual intelligence of Generation Z Christians in the congregation.

Abstract

Becoming God's Servant is a special call from God. God's Servant is the call of the congregation to someone who is considered to have godliness in his faith and actions of daily life. Whereas the word "servant" in Greek doulos, is a slave, it means that the servant is bound. The task of God's Servant has an important role in the growth of the church. In the journey of ministry, it is not always smooth faced by the Lord's servants, there are congregations that are growing spiritually mature and there are also those who withdraw from the ministry even leaving the church looking for another church or pastor. God's servant must be disappointed and even feel like a failure in the ministry. The same thing happened to Jesus when His disciples left Him because of his harsh words in rebuking His disciples. How is the attitude of the servants of God in facing the church who resigned in the service in terms of John 6:60-71. After describing it in the discussion, it was found that Jesus' attitude toward the students was firm and caring and loving the students. So, the attitude of God's Servant to the church who left the ministry is to love, pray for, make as a fellow worker of God not an enemy. Thus, God's servants continue to serve with enthusiasm despite many challenges in the ministry. AbstrakMenjadi Hamba Tuhan merupakan panggilan khusus dari Allah. Hamba Tuhan adalah jemaat panggilan kepada seseorang yang dipandang memiliki kesalehan dalam imannya dan tindakan hidup sehari-hari. Sedangkan kata "hamba" dalam bahasa Yunani doulos, adalah budak, artinya adalah hamba yang terikat. Tugas Hamba Tuhan memiliki peran penting dalam pertumbuhan jemaat. Dalam perjalanan pelayanan yang dihadapi oleh hamba Tuhan tidak selalu mulus, ada jemaat yang semakin dewasa secara rohani dan ada juga jemaat yang mundur dari pelayanan bahkan meninggalkan gereja mencari gereja atau gembala yang lain. Hamba Tuhan pasti kecewa bahkan merasa gagal dalam pelayanan. Hal yang sama dialami oleh Yesus ketika para muridNya meninggalkan Dia karena perkataanya yang keras dalam menegur murid-muridNya. Bagaimana sikap hamba Tuhan dalam menghadapi jemaat yang mundur dalam pelayanan ditinjau dari Yohanes 6:60-71. Setelah diuraikan dalam pembahasan, maka ditemukan sikap Yesus menghadapi para murid yaitu tegas dan peduli serta mengasihi para murid. Jadi, sikap Hamba Tuhan kepada jemaat yang meninggalkan pelayanan adalah mengasihi, mendoakan, menjadikan sebagai kawan sekerja Allah bukan musuh. Dengan demikian hamba Tuhan tetap melayani dengan semangat sekalipun banyak tantangan dalam pelayanan.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of writing this article is to find out what strategies are used by the church in growing the congregation's interest in worship. This paper departs from the problems found by the author since serving the congregation in Kalimantan. The seriousness of the congregation in worship so far has been very insignificant, as a result the growth of the congregation's faith has decreased as explained in this article. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method by collecting data through interviews, empirical data, literature such as books and journal articles that can be trusted. The results obtained in this study are that the church must have a discipleship approach strategy, a realizational model and a counseling model. The three methods proposed by this author are very effective and significant in motivating the congregation to see the various problems experienced by the congregation, especially in worshiping in the church. Thus, the strategy used by the church so far needs a breakthrough because this will determine the congregation's interest in worship. Keywords:  Strategy, Church, Congregation Interest, Worship, Discipleship

Abstract

Pencobaan & 4 Kebajikan Jiwa Yang Dialami oleh Hamba Tuhan. Artikel ini membahas mengenai pencobaan yang dihadapi oleh hamba Tuhan dalam pelayanannya. Kemudian dari uraian tersebut kami menunjukan bahwa pencobaan-pencobaan seperti apa yang dihadapi oleh hamba Tuhan dalam pelayanannya. Kemudian dari uraian tersebut kami akan menunjukan bahwa pencobaan-pencobaan yang dihadapi menghasilkan 4 kebajikan jiwa dengan dukungan dari literatur-literatur bapa gereja dan teks-teks kitab suci. Dan pada akhirnya pencobaan yang dapat dihadapi dengan baik maka akan membawa seorang hamba Tuhan semakin dekat dengan Tuhan dan akan membuatnya semakin murni setiap hari.

Abstract

The Church has a responsibility in creating leaders who are characterized by answering the decline in present-day leadership, degeneration occurs in every line, both in national leadership and church leadership. Leadership degeneration occurs because there is no proper leadership character. In this scientific paper, the authors use literature research methods relating to the issues written. The resulting conclusion is the nature of the leader not born but created. The answer to overcoming the decline of leadership is to produce leaders with the following characteristics: 1) Credibility, 2) Integrity, 3) Commitment, 4) Humility, 5) Competence and 6) Discipline. To produce such a figure is required a good character education and the right to create a quality leadership character.AbstrakGereja memiliki tanggungjawab dalam menciptakan pemimpin yang berkarakter untuk menjawab kemerosotan dalam kepemimpinan masa kini, kemerosotan terjadi di setiap lini, baik dalam kepemimpinan bangsa maupun kepemimpinan gereja. Kemerosotan kepemimpinan terjadi karena tidak adanya karakter kepemimpinan yang baik. Dalam karya ilmiah ini penulis menggunakan metode penelitian pustaka yang berkaitan dengan persoalan yang ditulis. Kesimpulan yang dihasilkan adalah bahwa kepemimpinan itu identik dengan karakter. Seorang Pemimpin bukan dilahirkan, tapi diciptakan.  Sehingga jawaban untuk mengatasi kemerosotan kepemimpinan adalah menghasilkan pemimpin yang memiliki karakter yaitu : 1) Kredibilitas, 2) Integritas diri, 3)Komitmen, 4) Kerendahan hati, 5) Kompetensi dan 6) Disiplin. Untuk menghasilkan sosok seperti itu diperlukan suatu pendidikan karakter yang baik dan benar agar tercipta karakter kepemimpinan yang berkualitas.

Abstract

AbstractThe holiness of a priest is the main thing that God wants as a person who is given a mandate by God and guides believers to the maturity of faith in Jesus Christ. The purpose of this research is to contribute to each church priest to continue to carry out their duties and responsibilities as a servant and a person who trusts God and maintains a holistic life in ministry. Because the holiness of a person has a major influence on the maturity of the church's faith. The research method is literature review with interaction with texts in the Bible. Abstract

The aim of this research is to provide suggestions on how the church should strive to guide young people so that they experience spiritual growth. This research was conducted with a literature study method and a qualitative approach. This is because young people are the spearhead in determining the growth of the church, both in ministry and as a successor in the church itself. However, the problem that occurs today is the lack of guidance for young people, both from the role of spiritual coaches, especially in the formation of parents. So that this results in a decline in the spirituality of young people. The training of young people can be done by the church by teaching the truth of God's Word, instilling fear of God, setting the right example, holding a community worship program, teaching them to respect others. So that the results obtained from this coaching effort are able to increase the spiritual growth of young people, especially in the correct knowledge and fellowship of the Lord Jesus so that they are able to become people who can be role models and become a continuation of ministry in the church and become a blessing for everyone around them.

Abstract

AbstractAn example is something that should be imitated or good to imitate for example actions, behavior, traits, and so on. To find out the possibility of understanding the influence of examples based on 2 Teams. 3:10-17 about their behavior at school. The research methods used in this research are: Quantitative research with survey method. In the discussion, this article is organized into several materials, namely: Student Behavior, Exemplary Based on 2 Timothy 3:10-17, it was found that there was a significant influence between this study related to the influence of student understanding at SMP Negeri 41 Medan in 2017/2018 about Exemplary Based on 2 Timothy 3:10-17 On Behavior in Schools. From these findings that the level of the relationship is positive and very strong. After conducting an in-depth study, either through literature studies, surveys and data processing, the result of the first hypothesis is understanding, so it needs improvement to reach a high level. Keywords: role model, values, behavior  AbstrakTeladan merupakan sesuatu yang patut ditiru atau baik untuk dicontoh misalnya perbuatan, kelakuan, sifat, dan sebagainya. Untuk mengetahui kemungkinan ada pengaruh pemahaman tentang keteladanan berdasarkan 2 Tim. 3:10-17 terhadap tingkah laku mereka di sekolah. Metode  penelitian yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah:   Penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode survey. Dalam pembahasannya artikel ini disusun pada beberapa pembahan yakni: Tingkah Laku Siswa, Keteladanan Berdasarkan 2 Timotius 3:10-17, Ditemukan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara Penelitian ini berhubungan dengan Pengaruh Pemahaman Siswa-siswi SMP Negeri 41 Medan Tahun 2017/2018 tentang keteladanan berdasarkan 2 Timotius 3:10-17 terhadap tingkah laku di sekolah. Dari temuan tersebut bahwa tingkat hubungannya adalah positif dan sangat kuat. Setelah melakukan pengkajian secara mendalam, baik melalui studi kepustakaan, survey dan pengolahan data, maka hasil hipotesa pertama yaitu memahami, sehingga perlu peningkatan agar sampai pada tingkat tinggi Kata Kunci: teladan, nilai-nilai, tingkah laku
