Abstract

This study analyzes the need for Indonesia's massive industrialization in the manufacturing industry to address the persistent issue of informal employment. Indonesia's economy depends heavily on the informal sector, leading to a high unemployment rate and limited social protection. This study aims to explore the manufacturing industry's potential to create more formal employment opportunities and reduce informal employment. The objectives include analyzing the current state of the manufacturing industry, identifying the challenges and opportunities for growth, and proposing policy recommendations to promote industrialization. A qualitative research approach was used, with data collected through literature reviews, government reports, and library research. The study found that the manufacturing industry in Indonesia has excellent growth potential, given the country's large population, natural resources, and strategic location. However, several challenges include inadequate infrastructure, limited skilled labor, and bureaucratic hurdles. The proposed policy recommendations include improving infrastructure, providing vocational education and training, and streamlining regulations to attract foreign investment. The significance of this study lies in its focus on the potential of the manufacturing industry to create formal employment opportunities and reduce informal employment, which can contribute to poverty reduction and economic development in Indonesia. The study's novelty lies in its comprehensive analysis of the challenges and opportunities for industrialization in Indonesia and the proposed policy recommendations to address them.

Abstract

Based on Law No. 2 of 2002, it is stated that the Indonesian Police have four strategic roles: law enforcement, protection, service, and community guidance. Unfortunately, in the past four years, there have been numerous violations committed by unethical police officers. The latest data for the period of January-October 2021 shows 1,694 disciplinary violations, 803 violations of the professional code of ethics and the police ethics commission, and 147 criminal violations. This situation was further exacerbated by the murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat by former Head of Propam, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo. As a result, the police institution has drawn significant attention from various parties, including the media and the public. The news related to this case became headline news in mass media, including TvOneNews. The television station broadcasted Ferdy Sambo's trial on its YouTube channel, sparking discussions among the virtual public. Based on the explanation, this phenomenon becomes interesting to study in-depth, particularly the discourses constructed by netizens regarding the police institution in the news coverage of the trial of the murder case of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat with suspect Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, as broadcasted on the TvOneNews YouTube channel. This research adopts the critical discourse analysis method developed by Teun A. Van Dijk. The data collection technique utilizes documentation from the TvOneNews YouTube account. In conclusion, three discourses can be identified from the coverage of Ferdy Sambo's trial on TvOne. Firstly, TvOne aims to establish the reality of Ferdy Sambo's case by featuring the trial in its breaking news program and broadcasting it live on YouTube. Secondly, there is evidence of abuse of authority and power by senior police officers. Lastly, there are indications of improvements in the legal process in Indonesia, which is exemplified by the transparency of Ferdy Sambo's trial through TvOne's live broadcast.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze NCTzen's online fan culture experience on Twitter. NCTzen is one of the fandoms from the K-pop group called NCT. As fans, NCTzen always tries to get knowledge and information related to NCT. They use Twitter as their medium for doing their activities as fans. NCTzen actively contributed to the development of content media and expanded the scope and impact of text media related to NCT. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a virtual ethnographic research type. This method uses data collection techniques such as participatory observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is cyber-media analysis. The findings of this study suggest that NCTzen fan culture is a component of participatory culture; it takes shape in affiliation, expressiveness, group problem-solving, and circulation in NCTzen fan activities. Affiliation occurs when NCTzens who carry out their activities online use attributes related to NCT to show themselves as part of the fandom and utilize Twitter features to interact and share with fellow NCTzens. Expression occurs when NCTzens produce creative works whose sources are taken from official NCT content and then shared again through fan accounts in various forms. Such as fan edits, fan works, as well as content and translated texts for NCT content. Collaborative problem-solving is done by working together to support and protect NCT. Such as working together in streaming so that NCT songs enter the charts, voting so that NCT wins awards, and reporting and blocking so that no baseless rumors circulate. The circulation circulating among NCTzens is a thread that informs about matters related to NCT.NCTzen's online fan culture brings together NCTzens from various backgrounds and perspectives so that media content is produced based on the experiences and interpretations of each NCTzen.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of ASEAN Way in conflict resolution between Thailand and Cambodia regarding the border dispute around the Preah Vihear Temple in 2011. ASEAN is faced with many problems related to disputes in its member countries, one of which is the problem of Thailand and Cambodia. The lack of clarity of the territorial line is one of the causes. Policies have been carried out, one of which is the 1962 International Court of Justice (ICJ) decision on the Preah Vihear Temple, which caused rejection from the Thai side due to different opinions regarding the layout of the country's territorial boundaries. The ASEAN Way, as a tool of regional diplomacy, will assist member states in mediating conflicts. They should rely on peaceful settlement of disputes, not interfere in the internal affairs of other ASEAN member states, and abandon the use of force. The ASEAN Way is considered "the superior product of cultural similarities among the people of ASEAN". The ASEAN way includes consensus-seeking activities and has formal and informal characteristics. Through the ASEAN Way mechanism with the track - one & track - two diplomacy approach method, it can be a success factor for ASEAN in resolving conflicts between the two disputing countries
