Abstract

Cyberspace is a discussion not merely related to technological advancements, but also penetrates the socio-political realm. Cyber issues are now starting to overwhelm security isue with the spread of cyberattacks. Although only happening in cyberspace, the impact resulting from the action can be fatal for major infrastructures in the real world, icluding data management, public private information, and the state security system. This is what happened between the United State (US) and China. Beforehand, the US and China had an agreement in cyberspace issues to develop international norms. Nonetheless, this step was not significant given the reluctance of both parties to implement the points of agreement as they were not in line with the national interest. In addition, the two countries often accuse each other of cyberrattacks occurring in their respective territories. As the world's two strong cyber powers, the process of cyberwar becomes urgent to be analyzed through the constructivism concept, as it takes identity understanding into account. By utilizing descriptive qualitative approach through literature study, this research aims to understand the cyberspace situation between the US and China and to analyze the ongoing process of the US-China cyberwar from a constructivism perspective. Social construction plays an important role as it shapes perceptions of other actors. With China, it is difficult for the US to form sustainable cooperation given the fluctuating dynamics of the relationship between the two. Until the end, it is currently difficult to find similarities that would reduce the tension of political conflict.

Abstract

Despite its successful economy, Japan is facing a labour shortage that threatens the country’s economy. This shortage has led the Japanese government to seek solutions to meet its workforce's needs. In contrast, Indonesia, with its large population, is facing problems with labour market imbalances. In response to the problems, Japan began to establish labour cooperation with Indonesia to address Japan’s labour crisis. Indonesia is currently the third-largest labour-sending country to Japan after Vietnam and the Philippines. This is supported by Indonesia’s labour skills that meet the requirements of work in Japan. Moreover, Japan and Indonesia have a similar culture and manner that makes many Indonesian migrant workers interested in working in Japan, as well as the Japanese community, which easily accepts Indonesian workers in Japan. By utilising the concept of international relations through a qualitative method, a literature study is conducted by gathering information through reports, news articles, and journal articles. This research found that Japan-Indonesia cooperation in dealing with the labour crisis in Japan was carried out by revising the immigration policy by the Japanese government to make it easier for Indonesian workers to enter Japan, providing financial assistance and training to Indonesian workers, and establishing a labour cooperation scheme, namely JIEPA and SSW, between Japan and Indonesia. Furthermore, this study found that there is a technical internship cooperation programme between two countries that is harmful to both Japan and Indonesia.

Abstract

This article begins with the issue of restoring diplomatic relations between Turkey and Israel after previously being terminated by Erdogan due to the Mavi Marmara ship incident. This issue is a problem because Erdogan seems inconsistent in implementing his policies. Therefore, this article tries to explain foreign policy changes using a constructivist approach that focuses on individuals and uses Perception Theory formulated by Holsti as an analytical tool. This research found that the normalization of relations between Turkey and Israel was caused by a change in Erdogan's perception of looking at Turkey because of his nationalism, where there is a desire and interest to make Turkey a big, advanced, and prosperous country. Apart from that, the values of nationalism that Erdogan adheres to also influence Erdogan's views so that he considers severing or freezing relations with Israel to be an obstacle to Turkey achieving progress and a threat. Therefore, for the sake of progress and protection of the homeland, Erdogan adopted a normalization policy. Most previous research analyzes this problem using the perspective of the state as a political actor, and not many studies specifically focus on Erdogan as an individual in making decisions. Therefore, this research tries to explore this problem from a different perspective, using the perspective and theory of individuals as political actor as well as policies based on constructivist values, where research from this perspective is still rarely discussed.

Abstract

This study is a sentiment analysis of the Pandawa government service innovation. Pandawa is an administrative service innovation using the WhatsApp application by the Health Social Security Administration Agency (BPJS) of the Republic of Indonesia. The Pandawa service innovation received many positive and negative responses from communities on the official Twitter account @BPJSKesehatanRI. This is interesting to study in measuring the quality-of-service innovation for the Pandawa based on sentiment analysis of the responses of the communities. This study aims to measure the quality of Pandawa service innovation based on sentiment analysis of the responses of the user community from BPJS Kesehatan. The research method in this study is descriptive qualitative by utilizing the Nvivo 12plus application in processing data. The data is then presented in the form of crosstab analysis and word cloud analysis. The primary data source for this study was obtained from comments from the Pandawa users on the official Twitter account @BPJSKesehatanRI and secondary data sources from literature studies, journals, and online mass media. The results of the study show that the Pandawa service innovation has not been implemented optimally. This is based on the results of sentiment data processing which shows a negative response of 70%, a positive 18%, and a neutral 12%. The data shows that the Pandawa is very slow in response, replied by robots, service is not complete, and it is considered that the Pandawa makes it difficult for the community to get service. The high results of negative sentiment in this study hope to become a reference for study material in improving the quality of the Pandawa service innovation so that users can optimally benefit from the ease of administrative services innovation based on the WhatsApp application.

Abstract

This study describes the process of social penetration of musyrifah (mentor) and female students in an effort to increase memorization at the Miftahunnajah Islamic Boarding School, and determines the factors influence the self-disclosure of female students to musyrifah. Talking about Islamic boarding schools, ideally a female student will be instilled with Islamic values and morals attached to them. The female students who are fostered in Islamic boarding schools are also not free from the label of being able to memorize the Qur'an. The community believes that Islamic boarding schools are the most ideal place to memorize Qur’an. However, the reality is that Islamic boarding schools, which are believed to be the most ideal places to study and memorize the Qur'an, do not guarantee that all students will succeed in memorizing the Qur'an according to the set targets. Through the role of Musyrifah who acts as a companion as well as a role model, it is expected that female students can realize good morals in their lives. This study used Altman and Taylor's theory of social penetration and self-disclosure. The data collection was carried out using qualitative methods with data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. The research findings show that the social penetration of musyrifah and female students has been stable. This has an important influence in efforts to increase memorization. Meanwhile, the factors that influence self-disclosure of female students to their musyrifah include five important factors, namely, feelings of liking, dyadic effect, personality, topic, and age. This research also results in theoretical and practical implications related to the social penetration of musyrifah and female students in increasing memorization.

Abstract

Stress is part of the psychological that can be experienced by every individual. Stress experienced by students towards activities or situations in higher education can be referred to as academic stress. Students who experience extreme stress can have an unfavorable effect on the learning process and student achievement. This study aims to develop a student academic stress scale. The scale preparation in this research was based on 4 aspects of academic stress, namely: cognitive, affective, physiological and behavioral. In this research, data was obtained by distributing the academic stress scale that is being developed using a simple random sampling technique. The validity test was carried out by referring to Aiken's V formula (v 0.70) and the reliability test using the Alpha Cronbachs internal consistency method (rXY 0.3). Based on the try-out test with N82 (30 students and 52 female students), the value of 0.943 was obtained with 36 final items, consisting of 18 favorable items and 18 unfavorable items. There are still shortcomings in the results of this research, such as the final items which are still quite large, so in the next research it is hoped that it can be tested again on a larger sample to increase the reliability and validity of this academic stress measuring tool.
