Abstract

Students often have difficulty in solving problems, this is due to lack of confidence and students' critical thinking skills are still low. Critical thinking skills are needed to make decisions in solving problems on problems. In order for students to make decisions, students must have confidence in practicing critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills in solving story problems in junior high school students who have confidence. This research method is descriptive research with a qualitative approach, in the form of the results of the work of non-test students, written tests and in-depth interviews. This study included 2 subjects who had the ability to think critically with confidence. The results of this study show that students can meet all criteria such as (1) students are able to understand problems, write down problem information from known, namely Tini bought 2 pens and bought 1 writing book, while Aisyah bought more pens than Tini equivalent to the price of books, then what was asked was the price of 2 pens and 3 writing books, respectively, (2) students are able to analyze and create mathematical models, able to consider assumptions and determine the results of completion, namely solving mathematical models on the material of a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV). And (3) students are able to draw conclusions from the problem, namely being able to conclude from the results of the final solution correctly. So that students are able to understand, model and solve problems appropriately.

Abstract

Alzheimer's disease (AD), a progressive neurodegenerative disease, is the most common cause of dementia. Amyloid-B protein’s accumulation in amyloid plaques, oxidative stress, tau protein phosphorylation, poor energetics, mitochondrial dysfunction, membrane lipid dysregulation, inflammation, and neurotransmitter pathway disruption, play a part in the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's disease. AD is primarily characterized by the formation of amyloid-B aggregates. Transition metal complexes have recently been produced as chemical reagents for modifying AB aggregation. Transition metal complexes have tunable features such as the metal center's oxidation and spin states, as well as its coordination structure by altering the ligand bound to the metal center. These variable properties result in the reactivity of transition metal complexes with AB species and may lead to the regulation of the AB aggregation pathway. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of transition metals as active compounds in anti-Alzheimer's disease drugs. This study was compiled from online journals using secondary data searched by keyword. The results of the study show that some transition metals have potential therapeutic effects for AD. Ru can be an AB aggregation inhibition. Fe, Cu, and Zn transition metals are necessary for human survival and involved in AD triggering. Pt, Ni, Co, and V complexes play a role as multifunctional therapeutic agents against AD. This literature review includes a recently published (year>2000) report on the role of transition metals as anti-Alzheimer's.

Abstract

Regional innovation system is related to the entire process of developing innovation between government institutions, research institutions, business entities, and the community that prioritizes science, technology, and the development of new methods. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the types and groups as well as the maturity of regional innovations in the city of Palembang and include them in the regional innovation map. The data collection method used was interview with relevant stakeholders, such as government officials, academics, and practitioners involved in the development of regional innovations and public services. Observation, which is a method of collecting data by making direct observations on regional innovation systems and public services in a number of selected regions. Questionnaire, which is a method of collecting data using questionnaires filled out by a number of related respondents, such as government employees and communities involved in or receiving public services in the area studied. The results of this study show that the regional innovation development roadmap for the city of Palembang until 2019 has totaled 126 innovations issued by the regional organization (OPD), but there are still many programs that are at the initiation stage so efforts are needed to develop infrastructure, human resources, regional funding to policies capable of making innovations run sustainable. Efforts to accelerate the implementation of governance reforms in the regions need to be encouraged through innovation programs for all regional government administration affairs. Therefore, the development and implementation of innovation in the regions is not only limited to the internal bureaucracy, but also must be encouraged to the private sector and the community which is expected to increase regional competitiveness.

Abstract

The development of globalization has an influence on trade. Especially with the emergence of free trade. Through the concept of open trade, free trade seeks to provide access to prosperity. However, in practice, this access can only be enjoyed by countries with advanced scientific and technological development. Meanwhile, countries in Africa such as Ghana seem to be victims of free trade through the exploitation of developed countries. This makes economic inequality increasingly visible, and this situation attracts the attention of a group of people to present a solution by creating a fair-trade system that favors the profits of local companies and producers. The Body Shop ads is one of the agents that carries out fair trade which as of this writing will operate in Northern Ghana through the empowerment of northern Ghanaian farmers which is implemented by forming a shea farming community called "Tungteiya Woman". This research was conducted trying to combine the theory of power relations with the concept of sustainable development and the implementation of fair trade carried out by The Body Shop. The research method in this paper uses qualitative methods sourced from secondary data through literature study techniques obtained from books, journals, and articles. Research shows that the existence of The Body Shop in running a fair-trade community in Northern Ghana has had a positive impact on the economy of shea farmers by implementing the 10 principles of fair trade.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse how the online media Kumparan+ and Kompas.id reported on the riots in Kanjuruhan Malang. The Kanjuruhan tragedy is a disaster in Indonesian football. One hundred thirty-five football fans died after rioting after the match between Arema FC and Persebaya Surabaya at the Kanjuruhan Stadium. The research method is the framing analysis model of William A. Gamson and Andre Modigliani. This study found that Kumparan+ and Kompas.id framed the news about the Kanjuruhan tragedy as a major disaster in football. Kumparan+ and Kompas.id packaged the framing that the violence at the Kanjuruhan stadium was the leading cause of the tragedy. The use of tear gas by the police has increased the number of victims. Kumparan+ stated that the poor facilities at the stadium, especially the exit doors, caused chaos at the Kanjuruhan stadium. Kompas.id also emphasizes the public's disappointment with the handling of the Kanjuruhan tragedy. This research found that the framing by the Kumparan+ and Kompas.id media had different views in reporting the same event. This can be seen from the analysis results, which show that in its reporting regarding the riots in Kanjuruhan, Kumparan+ identified itself with the team supporters. Meanwhile, Kompas.id identifies with the Indonesian people who view this riot case as the responsibility of all parties involved.
