Abstract

Low back pain is defined as located pain and discomfort below the costal margin and above the superior gluteal line, with related pain in the lower limb, and repeated incorrect posture of work activities that demand effort with excess of flexion, rotation, vibration on the chest and carrying weight, being chronic if its persists for three months or more (Huldani, 2012; Utami and Dewi, 2015). This research aimed to find out the efficacy of accupressure on Dachangshu, Shenshu, and Yaoyangquan using pretest-posttest group design by comparing the mean decrese in pain threshold VAS, RMDQ and Test Straight Leg between control using Dingchuan and Waihuaijian and therapy group using Shenshu, Dachangshu, and Yaoyangquan twice a day with paired T test formula. The mean decreased in pain threshold VAS, RMDQ and Test Straight Leg obtained form therapy group toward 16 elderly above 45 years for 4 weeks showed that there is a significant result (p=0,000). Thus, it conclud that accupressure therapy using Dachangshu, Shenshu and Yaoyangquan can be used to treat low back pain.

Wilcoxon test results moist cupping therapy obtained P- value 0.001 means there are significant differences before and after the wet cupping therapy. Whi le Wilcoxon test results, warm compress got P-value 0.001 means there are substantial differences before and after the warm compress. Mann Whitney test result obtained P-value 0.383 means there is no significant difference of effect between the treatment group and the control group. There is an effect of cupping therapy and warm compress on pain intensity. Elderly can use wet cupping therapy as an alternative treatment to decrease joint pain intensity arthralgia.

The highest prevalence of mental disorders in Indonesia is in the province of the Special Capital Region (DKI) Jakarta (24, 3%), followed by Nagroe Aceh Darussalam (18.5%), West Sumatra (17.7%), NTB (10.9%), South Sumatra (9.2%), and Central Java (6.8%). while based on data Basic Health Research (2007). It shows that the national prevalence of mental disorders reaches 5.6% of the population, four to five people are suffering from mental illnesses. Based on these data, Indonesia's annual data that experience mental disorders is always increasing (MOH (2008). The increase in the proportion of mental disorders in the data obtained in Riskesdas 2018 is quite significant compared to Riskesdas in 2013, increasing from 1.7% to 7% of Indonesia's population (Riskesdas, 2018). Obesity is a condition in which the ratio of body weight and height exceeds the specified standards. Obesity is an increase in total body fat, that is, if you are found to be overweight> 20% in men and 25% in women because of fat. The intermittent fasting diet is a calorie restriction method that is widely used for health or weight loss reasons. Overall kidney function is based on nephron function and impaired function is caused by decreased nephron action. Several laboratory tests have been developed to evaluate kidney function and identify the disorder early on. This can help clinicians to take early prevention and management in order to prevent the progression of kidney disorders to kidney failure. Renal function tests are carried out by examining the levels of urea and cretinin.

Abstract

The World Health Organisation (WHO) defined low back pain (LBP) as pain or discomfort that is localized between the costal margin and above the inferior gluteal folds, with or without leg pain. In the world, it is estimated that the prevalence of LBP ranges from 1.4% to 20.0%. In 2013, around 24.7% of workers in Indonesia had experienced occupational diseases caused by low back pain. Based on the Riset Kesehatan Dasar (RKD) survey pada in 2018, 31.4% of Indonesians have used traditional medicine, with manual treatment skill, the type of traditional medicine effort, most widely used (65.3%) and one of it is cupping therapy. Cupping (therapy) also named Hijamah. Cupping therapy is one of the alternative medicines that uses vacuum cups on the cupping point of the skin surface. Although the mechanism of action of cupping therapy is still unclear, there are several reported effects of cupping therapy including increasing skin blood flow, changing skin biomechanical properties, increasing the pain threshold, increasing local anaerobic metabolism, reducing inflammation, and modulating the immune system. cellular. According to research conducted by Volpato et al. (2019) demonstrated the effectiveness of cupping therapy in reducing pain perception and improving function in individuals with low back pain.
