Abstract

Village customary institutions were formed with the hope of creating an understanding in building villages according to local values, but this goal cannot be realized according to the character of the local community and tends to exist traditional institutions only to fulfill the village government structure formally but do not have a role in the community empowerment planning process. The research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach with information determined purposively with a total of 23 people, then the researcher will carry out the stages of data collection according to Creswell (2016:254-255) as qualitative observation, qualitative interview, search for qualitative documents) and qualitative audio and visual materials. The data that has been collected is then analyzed using data analysis techniques from Creswell (2016). The results of the study found that the implementation of community empowerment policies by the indigenous institutions of Haumeniana Village based on the policy implementation model from Donald Van Meter and Carl E. Van Horn (1975) found that; (1) policy standards have been flawed so that they tend to be bad policies that have been bad since the beginning, (2) human resources, incentives and infrastructure facilities are insufficient, (3) communication between organizations and strengthening activities are still ineffective, (4) the characteristics of implementing agents are constrained at the vertical level, (5) economic conditions in jurisdictions or implementing organizations are not enough to support policy implementation, (6) The disposition of the implementer is always ready to support the village government as a partner in empowering the community.

Abstract

The existence of the Sanskrit language which is so amazing with its various scholarships, both Paravidya and Aparavidya, has made a major contribution to world culture and the archipelago. In Bali, Karakam's knowledge is written in a horizontal sheet, with the title Lontar Karakasangrahah, which until now has only been studied by foreign researchers such as Silvain Levy and J Gonda. However, until now the general public did not know about its existence and knowledge. This qualitative research aims to identify and describe the Existence of Lontar Karakasangrahah as a Karakam Guide in Sanskrit Grammar. Primary data sources are either observations on Lontar Karakasangrahah as well as information from experts as well as secondary data both from other supporting books. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was found that: (1) The Lontar form of Karakasangrahah consists of 21 stanzas of Karika written in Balinese script with an introduction to Sanskrit, explaining about 6 Karakam namely Karta, Karma, Karanam, Sampradanam, Apadanam and adhikaranam and sese and the relationship with use the 7 vibhaktih namely Prathamavibhaktih, Dvitayavibhaktih, Trti yavibhaktih, Caturthavibhaktih, Pañcamavibhaktih sasthavibhaktih, Saptamivibhaktih and Sambhodanam. (2) The existence of the use of Karakam is reflected in the findings of various local Sanskrit literary works in the form of Padya (sloka) and Padya (prose) found with strong Karakam compositions.

Abstract

Reconstruction of mandibular defects due to trauma or tumor resection is a significant challenge for surgeons, given the unique and variable shape of the mandible in terms of curvature, length, and height. Numerous techniques have been developed to achieve both aesthetic and functional outcomes. This case report presents a 28-year-old patient with mandibular irregularity following ameloblastoma dissection, which was reconstructed with non-vascularized bone grafts (NBGs) from the left iliac crest approximately 10 years ago. Prior to our procedure, virtual planning and 3D modeling were employed to accurately assess the bone defect. After debridement, a 5 cm defect was identified, and NBGs were harvested from the right iliac crest for reconstruction. NBGs are commonly used for small mandibular defects (<6 cm), non-continuity defects, and benign pathologies, and they can be performed in centers without microsurgical expertise. The use of virtual planning and 3D printing enables the surgical team to thoroughly study the case, anticipate potential issues, and improve precision, resulting in better outcomes and reduced operative time. NBGs, guided by virtual planning and 3D modeling, prove to be an effective technique in reducing surgical time and minimizing the risk of failure during the postoperative recovery period.

Based on the assessment of the three measurement dimensions, the usability dimension has a value of (0.245), the service interaction dimension has a difference or gap value of - (0.39) and the information dimension has a difference or gap value of - (0.26). Based on this, it can be concluded that the actual perception of quality has not been able to meet the ideal quality desired by SEAMEO RECFON website users, especially from quality attributes related to information on the website.

Abstract

This research examines the challenges and strategies involved in translating Arabic texts, particularly Quranic verses, into Indonesian. Given the significant linguistic and cultural differences between Arabic and Indonesian, translation efforts face numerous obstacles, including issues related to morphology, syntax, semantics, and cultural context. These challenges are compounded by the complexity of translating polysemous words, synonyms, idioms, and metaphors. This research employs qualitative methods, focusing on the translation processes, and offers solutions grounded in established translation techniques. By analyzing selected Quranic verses and creatively crafted Indonesian examples, the research highlights the importance of maintaining grammatical integrity, adapting idioms appropriately, and addressing untranslatability and collocations to ensure that translations are accurate and culturally relevant.

Abstract

This study explores the impacts of climate change on desertification in Niger State, Nigeria. Desertification, exacerbated by climate change, poses significant challenges to ecosystems and communities in Niger State, Nigeria. This study examines the key drivers of desertification, its socio-economic impacts, and the effectiveness of adaptation and mitigation strategies. A survey was conducted among 120 respondents, revealing overgrazing and climate change-induced factors as the primary drivers of desertification, with deforestation, poor land management practices, and urbanization also playing significant roles. Respondents highlighted the complex interactions between climate change-induced factors, such as changes in rainfall patterns and increased temperatures, and their contribution to desertification processes. The socio-economic impacts of desertification were pronounced, including water scarcity, decreased agricultural productivity, increased poverty, and loss of biodiversity. While some adaptation and mitigation strategies are being implemented, there is a need for greater community involvement, policy support, and integrated approaches to enhance resilience and promote sustainable land management practices. These findings underscore the urgency of coordinated action to address desertification in Niger State, Nigeria, emphasizing the importance of holistic strategies that integrate climate change adaptation, sustainable development, and community empowerment.

Abstract

This research examined the impact of Flexitime policies on employee obedience to work hours, comparing behaviors before and after its implementation at Pusat Kebijakan Sistem Ketahanan Kesehatan dan Sumber Daya Kesehatan (Pusjak SKKDK) or the Center for Health Resilience Systems and Health Resources Policy. Secondary data that included the attendance records from January 2022 to December 2023 of 106 employees who were sampled using the total sampling technique were comprehensively analyzed. The data of this research underwent parametric statistics in the form of paired sample t-test and non-parametric statistics using Wilcoxon signed ranks test. Results from both parametric and non-parametric analyses consistently revealed a significant shift in work hour obedience among employees following the introduction of flexitime, indicating a positive influence of Flexitime on employee work hour obedience. This research underscores the value of flexible work arrangements, suggesting that such system can significantly enhance employee performance and contribute to the attainment of organizational objectives.
