Abstract

Rigid and monotonous classroom management at the Madrasah Tsanawiyah level often becomes an obstacle to achieving effective learning, which results in low student motivation and engagement in the classroom. This phenomenon requires a transformation of teacher strategies to create a more dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere. This study aims to analyze classroom management strategies implemented by teachers in creating a joyful learning environment and evaluate their impact on the academic climate at Madrasah Tsanawiyah. This study uses a mixed methods approach with a triangulation design. The research subjects involved students in grades 9.1 (n=15) and 9.2 (n=13) at MTs As'adiyah Cabenge. Quantitative data were collected through a questionnaire on student perceptions regarding learning comfort, while qualitative data were obtained through classroom observations and in-depth interviews with teachers regarding spatial arrangement techniques, interaction management, and positive reinforcement. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Joyful Learning strategy through flexible seating arrangements, icebreaker integration, and a personalized approach can significantly increase student engagement scores in both classes. The results of the data analysis show that despite the relatively small number of students (a total of 28 students), a joy-centered classroom management approach is effective in reducing learning anxiety and increasing cohesion among students at MTs As'adiyah Cabenge. Theoretically, this study strengthens the literature on the urgency of affective-based classroom management in religious schools. Practically, this study provides strategic guidance for educators at Madrasah Tsanawiyah to design a hidden curriculum that prioritizes students' psychological well-being without neglecting academic discipline.

Abstract

Goal-shooting skills are crucial in soccer, but student performance is often hampered by a lack of integration between physical and psychological aspects during training. At State Islamic High School 2 Soppeng, the specific determinants that most influence the accuracy and power of extracurricular soccer students have not been thoroughly identified. This study aims to analyze and prove the influence of balance, leg strength, and motivation as the main determinants of shooting skills in extracurricular soccer students at State Islamic High School 2 Soppeng. This study used a quantitative approach with path analysis techniques. The study sample consisted of 30 middle-aged students in the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection instruments included a balance test, a vertical jump to measure leg strength, a questionnaire for motivation, and a standardized shooting skills test. The results of the inferential analysis showed that all three variables had a significant direct effect on shooting performance (p < 0.05). Leg strength was found to be the most dominant factor (β = 0.418), confirming the importance of muscle explosiveness in generating ball speed. Balance plays a vital role in maintaining body stability when supporting (β = 0.342), while motivation acts as a psychological catalyst that strengthens technical mastery (β = 0.295). Contribution: This study provides practical contributions for coaches and sports teachers in designing a comprehensive training curriculum. The findings recommend a synergy between physical conditioning training (stability and explosive power) with strengthening intrinsic motivation to optimize students' technical potential in soccer.

Abstract

This research addresses the low social studies learning outcomes among fifth-grade students at Elementary School, primarily caused by conventional teaching methods that foster student passivity and difficulty in grasping abstract historical concepts. The study aims to improve learning outcomes by implementing the simulation method, specifically focusing on the history of Indonesian independence. Utilizing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design across two cycles, the study involved 22 students (13 females and 9 males) at Elementary School Wakarleli. Data were collected through observation, achievement tests, and documentation, then analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques and classical mastery benchmarks. The findings revealed significant improvements at every stage: in the pre-action phase, only 6 students (27.27%) achieved mastery with an average score of 54.44. Following the implementation of simulations in Cycle I, mastery rose to 17 students (77.27%), and reached 19 students (86.36%) in Cycle II after reflective refinements. The simulation method successfully transformed abstract history into concrete, contextual experiences, creating an active and enjoyable learning environment. Practically, this study recommends simulations as an effective strategy for elementary teachers to boost student motivation and contextual understanding. Academically, these results provide a foundation for further research into the effectiveness of simulation methods across broader social studies curricula or different grade levels.

Abstract

Physical fitness is a fundamental indicator of adolescent health, yet geographic disparities often create significant gaps in fitness achievement. This study aims to analyze and compare the physical fitness levels of junior high school students in rural and urban areas within the Polewali Mandar Regency. Using a quantitative descriptive approach with a comparative survey design, the study sampled 60 students from four schools: Junior High School 1 Polewali, Junior High School 1 Anreapi, Junior High School 1 Wonomulyo, and Junior High School 4 Wonomulyo. Data were collected using the Indonesian Student Fitness Test (TKSI) Phase D, covering hand-eye coordination, sit-ups, standing broad jumps, T-tests, and Bleep tests. The findings reveal a significant difference in physical fitness between the two groups. Although both cohorts fall within the "moderate" category, rural students demonstrated superior fitness with a mean score of 17.43, compared to 15.90 for urban students. This research highlights how geographic environments influence physical activity, suggesting that rural settings may naturally facilitate higher physical engagement. These results serve as a critical reference for educators and policymakers to design targeted fitness interventions, particularly for urban school settings, to bridge the fitness gap among adolescents.

Abstract

In the era of digital transformation, vocational high school students must possess strong learning motivation to master essential technical competencies. However, fluctuations in motivation are often driven by how effectively students manage digital literacy, utilize their learning environment, and receive moral support from their families. This study aims to analyze the levels of digital literacy competence, learning environment utilization, parental support, and learning motivation among vocational high school students, while examining the partial and simultaneous influences of these factors on motivation. Employing a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design, the research sampled 150 11th-grade Computer and Network Engineering students from three public vocational schools in Makassar City, selected via proportional random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive and associative regression techniques. Findings indicate that all variables—digital literacy, learning environment, parental support, and learning motivation—fall within the high to very high categories (65%–80%). Partially, digital literacy (R2=0.585), learning environment (R2=0.262), and parental support (R^2=0.575) significantly affect motivation. Simultaneously, these variables contribute 71.7% to learning motivation (F_count=123.423 > F_table=2.67), with parental support emerging as the most dominant factor (β=0.781). This study underscores that enhancing vocational motivation requires a synergy between digital proficiency and active parental involvement. Consequently, schools should develop integrated digital literacy programs that foster stronger parental participation to optimize student engagement.

Abstract

Although Myanmar has adopted an international legal framework through the Education Law (2007) and the Child Rights Law (2019), significant gaps exist between formal policies and practical implementation. Public awareness is still hampered by negative stigma, infrastructure constraints, and the influence of certain cultural and religious beliefs that contribute to the exclusion of children with learning disabilities. This literature review aims to explore the level of public awareness of inclusive education for children with learning disabilities in Myanmar and identify factors that hinder the transition from policy to practical inclusion. This study used a literature review method by analyzing various policy documents, previous studies, and reports on the educational context in Myanmar, including its impact on ethnic minority groups and children with disabilities. Findings indicate that the main challenges to inclusion in Myanmar include sociocultural factors such as the concept of "karma" that reinforces stigma, as well as a lack of school preparedness. Although school stakeholders generally support inclusion, they are hampered by a lack of specialized training, a rigid curriculum, overcrowded classes, language barriers, and uncertainty resulting from the ongoing political conflict. This leads many families to still choose special schools (separate) over inclusive schools. This article provides strategic recommendations for policymakers and education practitioners in Myanmar to focus not only on legal aspects but also on investing in teacher training, providing adequate infrastructure, and community engagement campaigns. The study emphasizes the importance of viewing disability as part of human diversity to create an equitable education ecosystem for all children.

Abstract

Lack of variation in physical training models often leads to performance stagnation, particularly in straight kick speed—a critical technique in Pencak Silat. This study explores innovating learning models to overcome these limitations. This research aims to analyze the impact of Tabata training and rubber weight innovations on increasing the straight kick speed of Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah (PIMDA) 181 students’ athletes in Majene Regency. This experimental study utilized two group pretest-posttest designs with a sample of 30 students, selected based on active training and achievement criteria. Data were collected using a 10-second straight kick speed test and analyzed via descriptive, normality, homogeneity, and t-tests. The findings demonstrate a significant effect from the Tabata training model (t_count 4.993 > t_table 2.145; sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Similarly, the rubber weight training model showed a substantial impact with a t_count of 9.808. Integrating these innovative learning models provides a practical contribution for coaches and educators to optimize motor skills and athlete performance within martial arts environments.

Abstract

Low student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education are often triggered by the use of learning models that are less varied and passive. This study aims to improve learning outcomes in Pancasila Education through the implementation of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in fifth-grade students of Primary School 2 Tiakur. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which is implemented in two cycles, covering the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domains. Data were collected through observation and learning outcome tests, then analyzed descriptively comparatively. The results of the study showed significant improvements at each stage. In the pre-cycle stage, the average class score was only 56 with a classical completion of 12%. After the implementation of cycle I, the average score increased to 67 with a completeness of 28%, but did not reach the established success indicator. Improvement actions in cycle II through intensification of group guidance, optimization of time management, revision of LKPD, and giving meaningful awards succeeded in increasing the average score to 82 with a classical completion of 96% (24 out of 25 students). The conclusion of this study is that the STAD model is effective in improving student learning outcomes holistically and exceeding established success indicators. This research contribution provides a practical reference for educators regarding strategies for strengthening student competencies in the Pancasila Education curriculum through structured cooperative learning.

Abstract

The Adiwiyata program at Junior High School 1 Adiluwih has been running with adequate support and has succeeded in forming an evenly distributed environmental awareness among students. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of the implementation of the Adiwiyata program on students' environmental awareness at Junior High School 1 Adiluwih, Pringsewu Regency. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design on a sample of 194 students in grades VIII and IX. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using simple linear regression techniques. The results showed that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program and the level of students' environmental awareness were in the "fairly good" category with a homogeneous data distribution. Statistical analysis confirmed a positive and significant effect of the Adiwiyata program on students' environmental awareness (p < 0.001) with a regression equation of Y = 9.756 + 0.694X. The coefficient of determination of 0.600 indicates that the Adiwiyata program provides a dominant contribution of 60% in forming students' environmental awareness. These findings provide empirical evidence that the quality of the Adiwiyata program implementation is a key factor in increasing ecological awareness and strengthening sustainable school culture practices.
