Abstract

The potential for soybean development in swampy areas is enormous, but complex weeds still hamper productivity in waterlogged soil conditions. Similarly, in waterlogged soybean cultivation systems, selective pressure from soil hypoxia or anoxia significantly affects the spatial and temporal composition, dominance, and adaptation mechanisms of weeds. This study focuses on the characteristics of swampy land, weed dynamics in swampy land, and an analysis of the dominant adaptive weeds in terms of morphology, physiology, and reproduction in waterlogged conditions and their implications for the weed-soybean relationship. This study shows that, within in single ecosystem, hypoxic terrestrial weeds, phenotypically dominant hypoxic terrestrial weeds, and phenotypically subdominant hypoxic terrestrial weeds are antagonistic. This theory suggests that waterlogged land will reduce the population of hypoxic weeds as an ecosystem response. It also explains theoretically that waterlogged land will reduce hypoxic conditions and weeds. In waterlogged land, it simultaneously reduces hypoxic weeds and their population. Research on waterlogged land also shows that weed management in waterlogged soybean systems requires an integrated approach to water management, cultivation systems, mechanical control, and bioherbicide allelopathy, which is expected to suppress weed dominance and reduce the need for synthetic herbicides. This study also emphasizes that for the development and improvement of weed control in waterlogged soybean cultivation systems, it is necessary to focus more on weed ecology in swampy land.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purple eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a vegetable crop belonging to the Solanaceae family. Managing planting spacing and applying adequate, balanced inorganic NPK fertilizer are cultivation techniques that can support plant growth and production. This study was conducted at the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Baturaja, Ogan Komering Ulu Regency, from November 2025 to January 2026. The materials used were 'Yupita F1' variety purple eggplant seeds and NPK fertilizer. A Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors was employed. The first factor consisted of three planting spacing levels: J1 = 50 x 70 cm, J2 = 60 x 70 cm, and J3 = 70 x 70 cm. The second factor consisted of three NPK fertilizer dosages: P1 = 100 kg/ha, P2 = 200 kg/ha, and P3 = 300 kg/ha. Observed variables included time to flowering, shoot fresh weight, shoot dry weight, fruit weight per plant, fruit length per plant, and number of fruits per plant. Data were analyzed using the F-test and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% level. A planting spacing of 60 x 70 cm was the best treatment for purple eggplant growth and production. An NPK fertilizer dosage of 200 kg/ha was the best dosage for purple eggplant growth and production. Keyword: water, nutrients, competition, sunlight, plants

Abstract

This study was motivated by the high dependence of farmers on inorganic fertilizers, which may reduce soil fertility, and the underutilization of organic wastes such as goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels as liquid organic fertilizer (LOF). The objectives of this study were to analyze the effect of LOF derived from goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels on the growth and yield of watermelon (Citrullus lanatus), determine the optimum application rate, and evaluate farmers' acceptance and adoption of the technology. The study was conducted from March to May 2026 in Sei Bamban District, Serdang Bedagai Regency, using a non-factorial Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) consisting of five treatments and five replications. The treatments were P0 (control), P1 (50 ml + 20 ml), P2 (100 ml + 35 ml), P3 (150 ml + 50 ml), and P4 (200 ml + 65 ml). Observed variables included vine length, number of leaves, flowering age, fruit weight, fruit length, and fruit diameter at harvest (55 days after planting). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% significance level, while extension effectiveness was evaluated through pre-test and post-test assessments. The results indicated that the application of liquid organic fertilizer significantly affected all growth and yield parameters of watermelon. Treatment P4 produced the best vegetative growth and yield compared with the other treatments. Extension activities also improved farmers' knowledge, attitudes, and adoption of the technology. Therefore, liquid organic fertilizer derived from goat urine, pineapple peels, and banana peels has the potential to serve as an effective, environmentally friendly, and sustainable alternative fertilizer for watermelon cultivation. Abstract

Keterbatasan lahan pertanian di perkotaan mendorong masyarakat mengembangkan sistem hidroponik sebagai alternatif budidaya tanaman, termasuk selada merah (Lactuca sativa var. crispa). Pertumbuhan selada merah secara hidroponik dapat dioptimalkan melalui pemberian zat pengatur tumbuh (ZPT) alami yang berasal dari bawang merah, air kelapa, tauge, dan pisang. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh jenis ZPT alami, konsentrasi, dan interaksi keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan selada merah. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Pasar Bengkulu, Kecamatan Sungai Serut, Kota Bengkulu, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap faktorial. Faktor pertama terdiri atas empat jenis ZPT alami, sedangkan faktor kedua terdiri atas konsentrasi 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, dan 25%. Sebanyak 20 kombinasi perlakuan diulang tiga kali sehingga diperoleh 60 unit percobaan dengan total 120 tanaman. Hasil analisis sidik ragam menunjukkan bahwa jenis ZPT dan konsentrasi secara tunggal tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap seluruh parameter. Namun, interaksi keduanya berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah daun pada 37 hari setelah tanam dan berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap berat basah. Air kelapa konsentrasi 20% merupakan perlakuan terbaik, terutama pada parameter berat basah yaitu 63,50 g yang merupakan nilai berat basah tertinggi, dengan memiliki jumlah daun 11,83 helai. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh konsentrasi, frekuensi aplikasi, dan interaksi keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman kedelai (Glycine max L.) varietas Detap-1. Permasalahan penelitian difokuskan pada upaya meningkatkan produktivitas kedelai melalui penerapan pupuk bionanofertilizer dengan konsentrasi dan frekuensi aplikasi yang tepat. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Desa Rejowinangun, Kecamatan Kademangan, Kabupaten Blitar pada Juni–November 2025 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan dua faktor, yaitu konsentrasi pupuk bionanofertilizer (6, 9, dan 12 ml l⁻¹) serta frekuensi aplikasi (1, 2, dan 3 minggu sekali). Setiap kombinasi perlakuan diulang tiga kali. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam (ANOVA) dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa interaksi konsentrasi dan frekuensi aplikasi memengaruhi pertumbuhan vegetatif dan komponen hasil tanaman kedelai. Kombinasi konsentrasi 6 mL L⁻¹ dengan frekuensi aplikasi satu minggu sekali memberikan respons terbaik terhadap tinggi tanaman, diameter batang, jumlah polong, berat polong, jumlah biji, bobot biji, dan bobot 100 biji. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kombinasi tersebut berpotensi menjadi strategi pemupukan yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman kedelai.
