Abstract

The young generation nowadays loves to take pictures or make short videos to post on social media. This short video 15-second application has gained so much popularity that in 2019 almost one billion downloads in 150 markets worldwide and has 75 languages! Why is it so popular? Thus, this research is to study the factors that short video TikTok application addiction. The respondents were university students from both public and private Malaysian universities. We run descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression to determine the relevance and significance of the relationship between the selected variables. This study proved that social factors, family factors, and lifestyle factors have significantly related to the short video TikTok addiction. The test revealed that a variance of 63.4% (R²) of Short Video TikTok addiction could be explained by social, family, and lifestyle factors. Social factors play the leading role in this addiction. The study implicated that this app could be a major influencer to the young generation.

Abstract

Anyone can experience stressful conditions. The students are no exception when completing the final task (thesis). Students are required to be able to study independently with various targets that must be met through direct guidance from supervisors. The condition of students at this stage is vulnerable to various problems that can lead to stress conditions. This stress will be beneficial for students when they are well tolerated. However, not all students can tolerate the stress they experience. This is influenced by the level of hardiness possessed by each student. The importance of hardiness in its role in tolerating academic distress experienced by students in writing a thesis encourages educational practitioners, especially counselors, to provide counseling services that can touch on the hardiness aspect. The need for this service model encourages researchers to develop a model of group counseling services based on stress inoculation training in developing hardiness to increase students' academic distress tolerance in preparing a thesis. The development of this model will be carried out within three months by following the procedures in research and development (R&D). encourage researchers to develop a model of group counseling services based on stress inoculation training in developing hardiness to increase academic distress tolerance in students in preparing a thesis. Abstract

This study evaluated the effectiveness of psychoeducation intervention in enhancing sexual health literacy (SHL) among adolescents at risk of HIV. Sixty adolescents aged 12-19 years ( X̄= 15.2) who reported low in Dilorio et al. (1993) Safe Sex Behavior Questionnaire (SSBQ) were recruited from two secondary schools in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, and randomly assigned to treatment and waiting-list group. The intervention group received seven sessions of group-based psychoeducation to improve their HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitude towards HTC, and behaviors related to unprotected sex, condom, and contraceptive use. Participants in the waiting-list control group were not exposed to the intervention. Results show that psychoeducation was effective in improving the participants’ SHL (F (1,59) = 7264.742, p<0.05); however, there was no interaction effect of gender on the outcome. This finding suggests that psychoeducation is a viable intervention for enhancing sexual health literacy to reduce HIV infections among adolescent cohorts.

Abstract

Heat-cured acrylic resin is the most widely used base material to manufacture removable dentures. Because it has aesthetic advantages, is non-toxic, does not irritate the oral mucosa, is inexpensive, and is easy to manipulate and repair. However, this material has drawbacks. Namely, it has microporosity to absorb liquid, and it is easy to fracture if hit on a hard surface or under prolonged use. This study aimed to determine the difference in impact strength between heat-cured acrylic and thermoplastic acrylic against Charpy impact (impact pressure). It can be used as the basis for adding wire or metal plates to increase the material's mechanical strength. This type of research is an experimental laboratory experiment to determine specific treatments' effects. The research samples were heat cured acrylic and thermoplastic acrylic plates with a size of 65 mm x 10 mm x 2.5 mm according to ADA specification no. 12, totaling 16 pieces for each group. The sample criteria are in the form of blocks according to the size, which is smooth and shiny. Data analysis used the One Way Anova and Least Significant Difference test to see the impact strength of heat cured acrylic plate compared to the thermoplastic acrylic plate with a significance level (p=0.05). One Way Anova test results obtained p< 0.05, proving a significant difference between the Heat Cured Acrylic Resin group and the Acrylic Thermoplastic group. The Least Significant Difference calculation results show that the average difference between Heat Cured Acrylic Resin and Thermoplastic Acrylic is 56.8. It is greater than the LSD calculation of 9.802465, which means there is a significant difference between the average Heat Cured Acrylic Resin and Thermoplastic Acrylic. In conclusion, Heat Cured Acrylic Resin plate has a lower impact strength than Thermoplastic Acrylic.

Abstract

Spirituality counseling has developed as a significant approach to supporting the mental health and well-being of individuals, especially in Indonesia, which has rich religious and cultural diversity. This research aims to develop and test a framework for an optimal spirituality counseling approach appropriate to the Indonesian context, focusing on integrating three main dimensions of spirituality: ritual, theistic, and existential. Data was collected using a quantitative survey method, the Daily Spirituality Preference Questionnaire (PSS), adapted to Indonesian society's cultural and religious conditions. The research results show that a balanced and integrated spirituality can positively impact solving problems and improving individual well-being. This study offers a solid theoretical framework and practical implications for counselors in implementing adaptive and holistic spirituality counseling. Recommendations for counseling practice in Indonesia include the importance of adapting interventions to the client's spiritual and cultural background and developing counselor competence in dealing with spiritual issues.

Abstract

The elderly are a group that faces complex challenges in this phase of their lives, including loneliness, social isolation, and decreased independence. This condition is often exacerbated by the loss of people close to them and a decline in physical health. Depression and anxiety often haunt older adults, which can go undiagnosed or ignored as part of the aging process. This study aims to evaluate the effect of providing reminiscence therapy on increasing the happiness of the elderly at the Adinda Mulia Bahagia Nursing Home. The method used is a one-group pretest-posttest design using a happiness scale-based questionnaire developed by Seligman (2002). The research was carried out at the Adinda Mulia Bahagia Foundation, Bekasi Regency, West Java on June 2 2024. The population consisted of all elderly people living in the institution, with samples taken using saturated sampling techniques. The results of data analysis using the t-test statistical test showed that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05), indicating that reminiscence therapy had a positive effect on increasing the happiness of the elderly. Nevertheless, the correlation between pre- and post-treatment results shows inconsistent response variations among individuals. The conclusion of this research is that there is a significant change in the level of happiness of the elderly after being given reminiscence therapy, although individual responses may vary. As a suggestion, further research could expand the sample and consider additional factors that could influence the research results.
