Abstract

This proposal examines the impact of domestic investment and other factors such as open unemployment rates and school enrollment rates on multidimensional poverty in the Southern Sumatra (Sumbagsel) region. Furthermore, this study integrates an Islamic economic perspective in poverty alleviation, emphasizing the role of zakat, infaq, and waqf as effective instruments of social and economic empowerment. The quantitative approach uses panel data and statistical analysis to measure the influence of independent variables on multidimensional poverty levels, and discusses the theoretical and practical benefits of this research for the development of sustainable and inclusive economic policies. Thus, the results of this study are expected to provide strategic recommendations in order to reduce poverty structurally and multidimensionally, and support equitable and competitive economic development in Indonesia, especially in the Sumbagsel region.

Ex-post facto research design, earnings quality was the dependent variable, risk management as the independent variable while board control is the moderating variable. The findings of study indicate that board control significantly moderate impact of board risk management committee, risk appetite and audit committee significantly improve earnings quality. However, the study found that the interaction of board control and risk culture weakened the influence of risk culture in mitigating earnings management. The study concluded that board risk management committee, risk appetite, audit committee, and board control are necessary yardstick for improving the quality of reported earnings. The study therefore, recommends that shareholders of listed non-financial firms in Nigeria should pay more attention in appointment of board of directors, since board control substantially aid risk management in mitigating earnings manipulations. The results contribute to corporate governance and risk management debates in an emerging economy such as Nigeria and have policy implications on regulators and shareholders in refining the effectiveness of the risk management policies.

Abstract

The transformation of the modern work environment in Indonesia over the past two years, marked by accelerated digitalization, structural organizational changes, and increasingly fierce global competition, has given rise to new challenges related to increased job demands on human resources (HR). This article aims to analyze the interaction between job demand, HR competencies (both hard skills and soft skills), and professionalism in shaping adaptive and highly competitive organizational performance. Through a review of literature and the latest national data, this article finds that the development of HR competencies relevant to the needs of the digital age, supported by strong integrity and professional ethics, serves as the primary foundation for managing work pressure and driving innovation within the organizational environment. Optimal synergy between these three aspects not only enhances productivity and the quality of work output but also strengthens mental resilience and individual commitment in facing dynamic organizational stressors. The implications of this analysis underscore the importance of HR policies focused on people-centric development, continuous training, and balanced work management between demands and empowerment, to ensure organizational sustainability and excellence in the era of global competition and national digitalization.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become the main driver of change in the global banking industry, including in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the effect of the number of digital transactions and the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) on the profitability of PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, as measured by Return on Assets (ROA) during the period 2015–2024. The method used is a quantitative approach with a multiple linear regression model, preceded by classical assumption tests including normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroskedasticity. The results of the study indicate that the number of digital transactions does not significantly affect ROA, while NPL has a negative and significant effect on ROA. These findings suggest that the success of banking service digitalization does not automatically improve financial performance if it is not accompanied by effective credit risk management. The implication of this study is the importance of integrating digital strategy and risk management in national banking business planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of brand trust, price, and customer engagement on the purchasing decisions of local cosmetic products in Sumbawa Regency. Using a quantitative approach and purposive sampling technique, data were collected from 102 Generation Z respondents through an online questionnaire. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that all three independent variables have a positive and significant effect on purchasing decisions. Brand trust emerged as the most dominant factor, followed by customer engagement and price. These findings suggest that marketing strategies emphasizing brand trust, customer engagement, and competitive pricing are essential in capturing the Generation Z market, particularly in non-metropolitan areas like Sumbawa. Local cosmetic brands produced by large companies such as PT Paragon, which already enjoy a strong reputation, are the preferred choice among Generation Z in Sumbawa. This highlights that corporate image remains a key factor in building consumer trust.

Abstract

The Muaro Jambi site, which is recognized as a Cultural Heritage through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 259/M/2013, has an important value as the nation's cultural heritage. As part of preservation efforts, the site has a vital role in understanding and developing history, science, and culture. Therefore, its management needs to be carried out appropriately through protection, development, and utilization that can support the progress of national culture for the welfare of the community. As part of this utilization step, the Muaro Jambi Site development project will begin in 2024. To ensure that this project is carried out efficiently, effectively, and accountably, a risk analysis of various activities related to this project is carried out. The results of risk identification in the early stages of the project revealed that there were 62 risks related to museum construction, 52 risks to environmental arrangement, 63 risks to restoration, and 53 risks related to interior activities and Information Communication and Technology (ICT). These risks include operational, financial, legal, fraud, as well as strategic and policy risks. From the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the identification of risks in all project activities shows significant similarities, although there are slight differences due to the specific nature of each activity. In addition, there are several key risks that need to be seriously considered to ensure the achievement of project objectives, namely budget blocks, cultural heritage findings during excavation, and lack of involvement of the surrounding community in the sustainability of the project. Therefore, high and very high levels of risks must be addressed immediately with appropriate mitigation, while medium-level risks can be monitored on an ongoing basis. Risks with low levels still need to be monitored to prevent greater negative impacts
