Abstract

The objectives of this ethnographic study on the tradition of balagh kitab Mukhtar al Ahadits and its role in fostering the value of mahabah (love) among students at the Sirojuth Tholibin Brabo Islamic Boarding School are (1) to analyze the process of the balagh kitab tradition in shaping and fostering the value of mahabah, and (2) to identify supporting and inhibiting factors as well as solutions for the sustainability of this tradition as a culture that fosters the value of mahabah. The method used is ethnography, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies in the pesantren environment. The results of the study show that the tradition of balagh kitab, which is carried out routinely and communally, is not only a transfer of knowledge, but also a process of internalizing the value of mahabah through the example set by the kyai, social interaction among santri, and understanding the meaning of hadith. Balagh kitab serves as a medium for transmitting values that bind santri to a love of knowledge, teachers, and fellow students. Supporting factors include the commitment of kyai and the pesantren curriculum, while inhibiting factors are related to the adaptation of new santri and the challenges of the times. The solutions offered involve integrating mahabah values into other non-formal activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of promotional mix strategies at the Al-Qur’an Printing Unit (UPQ) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and identify the obstacles faced in achieving revenue targets. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through field observations, documentation, and semi-structured interviews. Informants were selected via purposive sampling, consisting of four key management and marketing staff who hold operational authority. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña (data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing). The results of the study show that UPQ’s revenue realization in 2024 only reached 94,56% of the target. The primary structural factors hindering this achievement were a limited budget for operational promotion and a lack of expert marketing staff, which led to an over-reliance on social media and restricted exhibitions. This study recommends optimizing electronic advertising with informative content, developing print media for religious events, and implementing tactical sales promotion strategies such as holiday discounts and product sampling. The theoretical contribution of this research lies in conceptualizing an Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) framework specifically adapted for government-owned religious institutions with dual public service and semi-commercial functions, thereby bridging the literature gap between private and public sector marketing dynamics.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies and the emergence of Society 5.0 have created new opportunities and challenges for educational institutions worldwide, including Islamic education in India. In this context, Islamic educational institutions are expected not only to adopt technological innovations but also to preserve their role in fostering ethical values, character development, and social responsibility. This study explores the transformation of Islamic education in India through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), character formation, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the framework of Society 5.0. Employing a qualitative research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving educators, students, and educational administrators from selected Islamic educational institutions. The findings reveal that AI has enhanced learning accessibility, personalized instruction, and educational management, while character education remains central to nurturing integrity, responsibility, empathy, and ethical leadership among students. The study also demonstrates that the incorporation of SDG-related values encourages environmental awareness, social justice, community engagement, and sustainable citizenship. Furthermore, Islamic educational institutions increasingly view technological innovation and moral development as complementary rather than contradictory dimensions of education. The integration of AI, character formation, and sustainability principles contributes to a holistic educational model that prepares students to navigate technological advancements while maintaining strong ethical and spiritual foundations. The study concludes that reimagined Islamic education can serve as a strategic framework for developing technologically competent, morally grounded, and socially responsible graduates capable of contributing to sustainable development in the era of Society 5.0. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and researchers seeking to strengthen the relevance and impact of Islamic education in contemporary society.

Abstract

The emergence of Society 5.0 has created new challenges and opportunities for educational institutions, particularly in integrating technological innovation with ethical and sustainable human development. In the context of Islamic education, the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers significant potential to enhance learning effectiveness while simultaneously raising concerns regarding moral values, character formation, and social responsibility. This study aims to explore the role of transformative Islamic education in integrating Artificial Intelligence, character education, and sustainable development within the context of Bangladesh. Using a qualitative research approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving educators, students, and educational stakeholders from Islamic higher education institutions. The findings reveal that AI can support personalized learning, improve access to educational resources, and strengthen digital literacy among students. However, the successful implementation of AI in Islamic education requires a balanced approach that prioritizes ethical principles, character development, and sustainability values. The study demonstrates that Islamic education provides a comprehensive framework for integrating technological advancement with values such as honesty, responsibility, justice, empathy, and environmental stewardship. Furthermore, character education serves as a critical mechanism for ensuring that technological competencies are accompanied by moral awareness and social accountability. The integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within Islamic educational practices also contributes to preparing students to address contemporary social, economic, and environmental challenges. This study proposes a transformative model of Islamic education for Society 5.0 that combines AI-driven learning, character-based education, and sustainability-oriented development. The findings contribute to the growing discourse on educational transformation and offer practical recommendations for policymakers, educational institutions, and stakeholders seeking to modernize Islamic education while preserving its ethical and spiritual foundations.

Abstract

Islamic education in Indonesia is an institution that existed long before the country's independence; however, its position within the modern state structure has been highly influenced by the direction of government politics and policies. This study aims to analyze the political position of Islamic education within Indonesia’s legal system, identify various contemporary issues arising from current policies, and formulate applicable future strategies and solutions. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a library research approach, data were collected from secondary sources such as the National Education System Law (UU Sisdiknas), the Pesantren Law (UU Pesantren), and scientific journal articles. The findings reveal that legal frameworks such as the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003 and the Pesantren Law No. 18 of 2019 represent crucial achievements in the politics of Islamic education. Nevertheless, contemporary challenges including administrative dualism that contributes to disparities in regional government budget allocations (APBD) for madrasahs, quality-related issues, digital disruption that triggers the digital divide, and the politicization of religious moderation instruments require synergistic hybrid policy reforms between central and local governments. Such reforms are essential to establish transformative governance of Islamic education while maintaining its moral identity.

Abstract

The study of the relationship between linguistic structure and theological meaning in the Qur’an is a crucial dimension within i‘jaz al-Qur’an studies, particularly in Surah Al-Ikhlas, which articulates the concept of monotheism (tawhid) in a comprehensive form. However, previous scholarship tends to separate syntactic analysis, which is largely descriptive, from theological interpretation, which is normative, resulting in a fragmented understanding of the interaction between linguistic form and meaning construction. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the nominal sentence structure (jumlah ismiyyah) in Surah Al-Ikhlas and to examine its stylistic-syntactic implications for the construction of tawhid. This research employs a qualitative library-based approach using Qur’anic stylistics (al-uslubiyyah al-Qur’aniyyah) combined with syntactic and semantic-theological analysis. The findings reveal that the dominance of jumlah ismiyyah conveys the semantic value of al-thubut wa al-istimrar, emphasizing the permanence and stability of divine attributes. Furthermore, the use of Dhamir al-Sha’n, the lexical selection of Aḥad, the al-qashr construction in aṣ-Ṣamad, and the syntactic inversion and negation patterns collectively construct a layered theological framework encompassing tawhid al-dhat, tawhid al-sifat, and tanzih. These results indicate that Qur’anic syntactic structures function not merely as grammatical devices, but also as epistemological instruments in systematically constructing and affirming the concept of monotheism.

Abstract

This article examines the discourse of Coretax as a digital tax modernization project in Indonesia by focusing on the tension between official narratives of integration, efficiency, and transparency and public/media narratives of disruption, error, data mismatch, and digital trust crisis. Using a qualitative approach with Critical Discourse Analysis, this study reviews selected online media texts, official public documents, press releases, and academic literature published between 2025 and 2026. The analysis employs Fairclough's three-dimensional model, supported by van Dijk's socio-cognitive perspective and van Leeuwen's legitimation framework. The findings show that Coretax is discursively constructed through three competing formations: modernization as technological necessity, disruption as administrative vulnerability, and recovery as institutional legitimation. The study argues that the crisis surrounding Coretax should not be interpreted merely as a technical problem, but as a discursive event that reveals the fragility of public trust in digital fiscal governance. Therefore, successful tax digitalization requires not only system stability but also transparent communication, accountable transition management, inclusive taxpayer assistance, and recognition of taxpayers as active civic subjects rather than passive users of technology.

Abstract

The development of Transit Oriented Development (TOD) areas aims to improve accessibility and integration of mass transportation in urban areas. This study aims to analyze the effect of TOD development on increasing the Land Value Zone (ZNT). The method used is a literature study by analyzing 35 scientific journals and various related references, and supported by Land Value Zone (ZNT) data from Bhumi ATR/BPN in the Lebak Bulus, Blok M, and Dukuh Atas MRT areas. The results show that areas located close to MRT stations tend to have higher land values than areas further away. The Blok M and Dukuh Atas MRT areas have land values that are generally in the category above Rp20,000,000 per square meter, while the Lebak Bulus MRT area shows land values that vary in the range of Rp5,000,000–Rp20,000,000 per square meter. The increase in land value is influenced by high accessibility, economic activity, and regional development supported by the implementation of the TOD concept. Thus, TOD development has an impact on increasing the Land Value Zone (ZNT) and can be an indicator of urban area development and a consideration in regional planning.

Abstract

Handling public complaints is an important indicator in assessing the quality of public services, including land acquisition and compensation services. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of handling land acquisition compensation complaints through the Omnichannel Communication Assistant (OCA) at the Directorate General of Land Acquisition and Land Development. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were obtained through observations during internships as OCA administrators, interviews with complaint service managers, and documentation of complaint ticket data for the period January - December 2025. The results showed that there were 236 complaint tickets received through the OCA. The majority of complaints submitted by the public related to information regarding land acquisition procedures, Compensation Money, and the status of compensation payments. The research findings indicate that the OCA plays a role in facilitating public access to submit complaints and obtain information quickly. In addition, the OCA assists the communication process between the public and relevant agencies in the land acquisition process. However, some complaints still require document verification and cross-agency coordination so that the resolution process cannot be carried out entirely through the OCA system.
