Abstract

Product damage is a common problem in storage and distribution processes, particularly due to impacts, temperature fluctuations, and uncontrolled humidity. Limitations of manual inspection systems often result in inefficient and non–real-time damage detection. This study aims to design and develop an Internet of Things (IoT) system based on Android for automated and integrated product damage inspection. The proposed system utilizes sensors to detect physical parameters that may indicate potential damage, such as vibration and environmental conditions. Sensor data are transmitted wirelessly to a server and presented through an Android application, enabling real-time monitoring of product conditions. The research methodology includes hardware design, software development, and functional system testing. The experimental results demonstrate that the system is capable of detecting and displaying indications of product damage with good reliability and fast response time. Therefore, the developed system is expected to improve monitoring efficiency, reduce the risk of product damage, and support more accurate decision-making.

Abstract

Effective drug stock management is crucial for ensuring medication availability and minimizing financial losses due to expired drugs in primary healthcare facilities. This study aimed to analyze drug stock management based on the percentage of stockout time and the value of expired drugs at Public Health Center (Puskesmas) X. This descriptiveanalytical research employed a mixed-method approach conducted from January to December 2024. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document review. Quantitative data were analyzed using formulas for stockout percentage and expired drug percentage, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically. The results showed a stockout percentage of 23.87%, with 47 out of 94 indicator drugs experiencing stockouts. The expired drug percentage was 2.12%, with a total financial loss of IDR 2,693,966. The main causes were ineffective distribution, changing disease trends, and inaccurate planning. In conclusion, drug management at Puskesmas X is not yet optimal, as indicated by high rates of stockouts and expired drugs. Improvements in planning, distribution, and monitoring are required

Abstract

Reactive dyeing processes generally exhibit a relatively low fixation efficiency, ranging from 50% to 70%, which results in approximately 35% to 35% of the dye being discharged into the dyeing wastewater. In this study, cotton fabric was treated with a cationizing agent, CHPTAC, at a concentration of 5%, combined with different NaOH concentrations of 15%, 25%, and 35% relative to CHPTAC, using the exhaust method. The dyeing process was carried out using color Red Type A(vinyl sulfone type) and color Red Type B (monochlorotriazine type) reactive dyes. The results indicated that the cationized cotton fabric exhibited higher dye uptake compared to the untreated fabric. This improvement was confirmed by FTIR analysis, which showed the formation of N–H functional groups within the wavenumber range of 1580 cm⁻¹ to 3490 cm⁻¹. Furthermore, the color strength (K/S value) for vinyl sulfone dyed fabric increased from 1,65 for non-cationized samples to 3,31 for samples treated with 5% CHPTAC and 35% NaOH. Similarly, in monochlorotriazine dyeing, the K/S value increased from 2,04 for untreated fabric to 4,07 after the cationization process. The rubbing fastness test demonstrated satisfactory results, with dry rubbing values in the range of 4–5 and wet rubbing values between 3–4 and 4–5 for both vinyl sulfone and monochlorotriazine reactive dyes applied to 100% cotton fabric

Abstract

This study explores the potential of corn cobs as an alternative raw material for environmentally friendly tissue paper production. Corn cobs are rich in cellulose but contain lignin, which must be removed through a delignification process. In this research, soda delignification was applied with varied durations (30, 60, and 90 minutes), combined with the use of dextrin as a binding agent at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 15%. The resulting tissue paper was evaluated based on Indonesian National Standards (SNI), focusing on tensile strength, water absorbency, sheet integrity, and grammage. The results showed that a delignification time of 60–90 minutes combined with 10–15% dextrin produced the best quality tissue paper. The sample treated for 60 minutes with 15% dextrin exhibited the highest tensile strength (400 N/m), while the sample treated for 90 minutes with 5% dextrin achieved the highest water absorbency (114 mm/10 minutes). These findings indicate that corn cob waste holds significant potential as a sustainable raw material for tissue paper production, supporting green manufacturing principles and agricultural waste valorization.

Abstract

Kulit buah nanas (Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) mengandung senyawa antioksidan seperti vitamin C dan flavonoid yang berperan dalam menangkal radikal bebas penyebab kerusakan sel. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memformulasikan sediaan serum dari ekstrak kulit buah nanas berdasarkan tingkat kematangan buah (50%, 70%, dan 95%) dan melakukan evaluasi sediaan. Sediaan serum dipilih karena memiliki viskositas yang relatif rendah sehingga lebih mudah diserap oleh kulit, memberikan efek yang lebih nyaman, serta mempermudah penyebaran bahan aktif secara merata di permukaan kulit. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental dengan menggunakan pelarut etanol 96%. Evaluasi sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, homogenitas, pH, viskositas, dan aktivitas antioksidan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa sediaan serum memiliki konsistensi agak kental, berwarna coklat keemasan, beraroma khas kulit nanas, dan bersifat homogen. Nilai pH F0, FI, FII, dan FIII yaitu 4,7–5,16 dan viskositas antara 145,71–6348 cPs. Uji aktivitas antioksidan menggunakan metode microplate reader pada panjang gelombang 492 nm menunjukkan bahwa formula I (kematangan 50%) memiliki nilai IC₅₀ sebesar 44,48 (aktivitas sangat kuat), formula II (70%) sebesar 60,73, dan formula III (95%) sebesar 63,46 (aktivitas kuat). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, serum ekstrak kulit buah nanas dengan tingkat kematangan 50% menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan terbaik

Abstract

Queueing problems at service facilities often lead to long waiting times during peak hours. At the Bank Jateng service counter located at Univet, which serves both students and surrounding residents, queue congestion frequently occurs at the beginning of the month and during certain service hours. This study aims to analyze the queueing system at the Bank Jateng Univet Office using a single-channel, single-phase (M/M/1) queueing model. The analysis was conducted using WinQSB software based on primary data collected through direct observation during operational hours and interviews with bank staff. The results show that the average customer arrival rate (λ) was 23 customers per hour, while the service rate (μ) was 26 customers per hour. The average number of customers in the system (Ls) was 11 people, with an average queue length (Lq) of 10 people. The average time spent in the system (Ws) was 0.5 hours. The service facility utilization rate (ρ) reached 88.46%, indicating a high workload level. Although the system operates under stable conditions, service capacity improvements are recommended to reduce waiting times during peak periods.
