Abstract

This research aims to describe the students' conceptual understanding of the linear equation system in two variables under the setting of deep learning approach. In this research, we involved 27 Grade IX-A students of a junior high school in Yogyakarta. We categorized them into a diverse of learning styles which include visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. It was a qualitative research using descriptive method. The data collection technique was carried out through a mathematical concept understanding test and a semi-structured interview. The data were then analyzed based on indicators of conceptual understanding ability, then categorized based on the criteria of conceptual understanding level by grouping them based on their learning styles. The results show that the application of the deep learning approach supports the students' conceptual understanding of linear equation system in two variables through activities of preparing assistant point tables, graph representation, and determining cut-off points as solutions. Students with visual learning styles show good ability in graphic representation, auditory students are able to model problems sequentially, while kinesthetic students are able to follow systematic solution procedures. Overall, the deep learning approach  helps students understand the concept of linear equation system in two variables more meaningfully based on the characteristics of their respective learning styles.

Abstract

The pedagogical challenge in vocational education is to bridge abstract mechanical concepts with practical technical skills. This study addresses the low learning outcomes in manual transmission materials by developing instructional video media for the Manual Transmission System topic in the Automotive Chassis subject for Grade XI Light Vehicle Engineering students at Tamansiswa Jetis Vocational High School, Yogyakarta. The learning video was developed using the ADDIE instructional design model to provide contextual and visual learning experiences that facilitate students' understanding of complex mechanical concepts and procedures. The feasibility evaluation showed that the developed media achieved a score of 91.5% from material experts and 78% from media experts, indicating that it is suitable for instructional use. Student responses reached 85%, demonstrating that the learning videos effectively enhanced students' understanding and engagement. These findings indicate that contextual digital learning media can significantly reduce the cognitive gap between theoretical concepts and practical applications, making it a valuable instructional resource for improving learning outcomes in vocational automotive education.

Abstract

This study examines the role of career guidance systems in enhancing workforce readiness within Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Increasing global challenges such as skills mismatch, youth unemployment, and rapid digital transformation have intensified the need for effective career guidance as a bridge between education and labor market demands. However, significant disparities remain across countries in how career guidance is structured and implemented. This study addresses the research question on how career guidance systems in Germany, Japan, and Indonesia contribute to workforce readiness, and what best practices can be identified. This study contributes to the literature by offering a comparative and integrative perspective on career guidance systems, moving beyond fragmented approaches that focus solely on employability or training systems. It proposes a novel framework that integrates institutional, cultural, and guidance dimensions to explain workforce readiness in TVET. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted following the PRISMA framework, analyzing 32 peer-reviewed articles sourced from Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect (2020–2025). The study employed bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer and thematic comparative analysis to identify key patterns across the selected countries. The findings reveal three dominant models: a system-driven approach in Germany characterized by strong industry integration, a culture-driven approach in Japan shaped by organizational values, and an emerging, fragmented system in Indonesia. Career guidance is identified as a critical intermediary mechanism linking education systems and labor market outcomes. The study concludes that workforce readiness is shaped by the interaction of institutional structures, cultural contexts, and career guidance systems. It highlights the need for integrated, industry-aligned, and data-driven career guidance frameworks, particularly in developing countries, to improve employability and reduce skills mismatch.

Abstract

Development of innovative learning media is essential for strengthening students' responsibility character and improving learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. This study aimed to (1) develop Wordwall-based game learning media, (2) examine its validity, (3) evaluate its practicality, and (4) determine its effectiveness in improving the responsibility character and learning outcomes of sixth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model and involved 28 sixth-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Kakatua, a public elementary school in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The developed learning media consisted of four curriculum-based learning topics, four interactive Wordwall game activities, student worksheets, and media usage instructions integrated into a comprehensive instructional package. The interactive learning activities were designed to encourage active participation, independent learning, and the development of students' responsibility character through meaningful game-based learning experiences. The results indicated that the developed media met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. Expert validation confirmed that the media was highly feasible for classroom implementation. Teacher and student responses demonstrated excellent practicality, while students' responsibility character and learning outcomes improved after using the media. The paired-samples t-test revealed a statistically significant difference between pretest and posttest scores, and the N-gain analysis indicated meaningful learning improvement. These findings demonstrate that the developed Wordwall-based learning media effectively enhances both students' responsibility character and learning outcomes. Therefore, it can serve as an innovative instructional alternative to support meaningful learning and character education in elementary Pancasila education.
