Abstract

Good and correct nursing documentation is important to be able to meet the medico-legal requirements of nursing practice. Beside that, there is evidence indicating that nursing documentation is associated with patient mortality. Several factors that influence nursing documentation are patient burden, lack of time, lack of knowledge and training. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of 3S-based (SDKI, SLKI, SIKI) nursing documentation training on the level of knowledge of nurses. The research method used is quasi-experimental with one-group pre-test post-test design approach. There are 150 nurses in a hospital in Central Java who participate in this study. The sampling technique used was total sampling method. The results showed that the average level of pre-test knowledge was 38.05, and post-test was 65.51. Data analysis using t-test obtained the p-value 0.000 (<0.05). Nursing documentation training is effective in increasing the knowledge and ability of nurses in documenting nursing care using 3S.

Abstract

Corona virus is a virus that can cause disease in the respiratory tract, which can develop to be more severe and can cause death. This virus quickly spreaded so that in March 2020 Covid-19 was declared as a pandemic. The implementation of health protocols is one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of the corona virus. This study aims to find out how respondents get information about health protocols and how the implementation of health protocols is carried out by the community during the covid-19 pandemic. This research is a quantitative research with descriptive method. A total of 266 respondents were obtained by purposive sampling technique. The results of the study indicate that social media is the most appropriate means to be used as a medium to disseminate health protocols to young people and adolescents. In addition, the implementation of health protocols is quite good for the community except in terms of limiting mobility, especially among teenagers. The role of parents, teachers and adults is needed to improve youth discipline in implementing health protocols. The implementation of health protocols such as wearing masks, washing hands, maintaining distance must be more strictly implemented if it is not possible to avoid crowds and limit social mobility.

Abstract

The Covid 19 pandemic has many impacts on various aspects of life of the Indonesian people; one of which is education. One crucial change is in learning methods, which shifts from face to face (offline) to online learning methods). Students need to adapt to the changes because some students have never used online learning methods. The shifting learning method could affect students’enthusiasm for learning, particularly for students who have never used this method before. The objective of this study was to determine the correlation between knowledge of online learning method and learning motivation of nursing students. The research design was cross-sectional. The research respondents were 112 nursing students from four universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta, that were taken by stratified random sampling method. The inclusion criteria are Diploma 3 Nursing students, age 18-25 years old, and students who are undergoing online learning. Data were collected using google form questionnaire which has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis used were univariate test for respondent characteristics, and correlation test using Spearman Rho. The results show that the characteristics of respondents are mostly at the age of 18-20 years (81.25%), the educational background of high school is 64.3%, and students who are also working are 2.7%. The most widely used application for online learning is Whatsapp (87.5%). The level of student knowledge is mostly good (54.5%), whereas other 33.9% respondenst are having sufficient knowledge, and 11.6% other are lack of knowledge about online learning. While the level of learning motivation is 0% weak motivation, 33.9% moderate motivation and 59% strong motivation. The correlation between knowledge of online learning method and learning motivation is significant, as shown by the p-value of 0.001 (p<0.005). As conclusion, during the Covid 19 pandemic, students who have good knowledge of learning method have significantly strong learning motivation.

Abstract

The elderly is one of the most at-risk group of contracting Covid-19. Due to aging process, the body will experience various declines; almost all of body organs and movement functions decrease, followed by a decrease in immunity as a body protector that does not work as strong as when it was young. Elderly companions play a role in caring for the health of the elderly, so they need knowledge and attitudes in order to have good and correct elderly health care practices. This study is a quasi-experimental study conducted with a pretest-posttest control group design with 30 respondents in the intervention group and 30 respondents in the control group. Based on the research that has been done, it shows an increase in the average value of knowledge from pre-test (28.98) to post-test (32.23) and an increase in the average value of attitude from pre-test (26.15) to post-test (29.05). Meanwhile in the second group, there was no increase in the average value of these variables. Elderly health care training is able to increase the level of knowledge and attitudes of elderly caregivers. Therefore, it is hoped that the elderly will avoid exposure to Covid-19 infection and reduce the severity of Covid-19 infection by controlling the participant's disease.

Abstract

The psychological impact caused by COVID-19 is very diverse; one of the psychological effects that often arise is anxiety. Anxiety arises because of the fear of COVID-19 which may cause many negative impacts, from illness to death. Patients who experience anxiety require mental support from the family in order to increase the patient’ enthusiasm for life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in COVID-19 quarantine patients. This study used a quantitative method, using Cross Sectional research design, with an observational approach. The population of this study was 58 COVID-19 quarantine patients, and the sampling method was total sampling technique. The measuring instrument used is the HARS questionnaire, while the data analysis used is the Spearman's rank test. The results of the univariate analysis of the family support variable showed that the category of respondents who lacked of family support was 22 (37.9%) respondents, while for the anxiety variable there were 28 (48.3%) respondents who experienced moderate anxiety. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Spearman's rank test obtained a p-value of 0.000 < 0.05 (α). Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the support provided by the family and the level of anxiety.

Abstract

Exclusive breastfeeding is the best source of food for babies under 6 months. Breast milk storage is thought to affect the components of the breastmilk. Research aim: to determine the levels of lactic acid in exclusive breast milk, both before and after storage at room temperature and refrigerator temperature. The study used experimental design with pre and posttest design. Lactic acid levels in breast milk were measured using an alkalimetric titration method. The selected breast milk storage temperature is room temperature (27-290 C), refrigerator temperature (2-40C), and the selected storage time is 0 and 4 hours. The sample were twenty (20) bottles of breastmilk from ten (10) breastfeeding mothers with a maximum lactation period of 6 months (exclusive breastfeeding) who live in Yogyakarta. The sampling technique was purposive sampling technique. The level of lactic acid in breast milk after storage at room temperature (27-290C) for 4 hours increased by 15.942%, while levels of lactic acid in breast milk after storage at refrigerator temperature (2-40C) for 4 hours increased as much as 2.309%. There is an increase in lactic acid levels of breast milk both after storage at room temperature and refrigerator temperature for 4 hours.
