Nurses play a critical role in enhancing medication adherence among pulmonary TB patients through education, monitoring, and emotional support. Objective: This study aims to explore the role of nurses in improving medication adherence among pulmonary tuberculosis patients using a phenomenological approach. Method: This qualitative study employed a phenomenological design to understand the lived experiences of nurses A total of 10 nurses from Sikumana Health Center in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara, who had worked for at least one year in TB treatment units, were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth, semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis. Results: The findings revealed that nurses play a central role in patient education through one-on-one counseling, group discussions, and the provision of educational materials. Adherence monitoring was conducted through home visits and follow-up appointments, accompanied by emotional support and encouragement. Furthermore, nurses collaborated closely with patients' families and community health workers to foster a supportive environment that promotes treatment success. Three main themes emerged: patient education and counseling, monitoring and emotional support, and collaboration with families and communities. Conclusion: Nurses at Sikumana Health Center play a strategic role in improving medication adherence among pulmonary TB patients through educational efforts, active monitoring, and psychosocial support. Strengthening nurses' capacity and implementing supportive policies are essential to enhance treatment outcomes and prevent drug resistance.

One type of worm that plays a role in anemia is Ancylostoma duodenale, which lives in the small intestine and can cause chronic blood loss. This study aimed to identify Ancylostoma duodenale eggs in pregnant women with anemia at Kusuma Bangsa Health Center, Pekalongan City. Method: This study used a descriptive design with a sample of 11 pregnant women with anemia at the Kusuma Bangsa Community Health Center, Pekalongan City. Ancylostoma duodenale eggs were examined using sedimentation method. Result: The examination results showed that all samples were negative for Ancylostoma duodenale worm infection. Factors supporting the negative results were that most respondents had implemented good personal hygiene, such as the habit of washing hands with running water, using footwear when leaving the house, always cutting nails at least once a week, and washing raw vegetables before consumption, so as to prevent transmission of helminthiasis. Abstract

Background & Objective: Hypertension is a common health issue among the elderly, with prevalence increasing as age advances. According to data from the WHO, approximately 1.13 billion people worldwide suffer from hypertension, with the elderly being the most vulnerable group. Poor management of hypertension can lead to serious complications such as stroke, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease. Adherence to treatment is crucial to prevent these complications. However, many elderly individuals, especially those with low education levels, struggle to understand medical instructions and the importance of medication. This study aims to analyze the relationship between education level and adherence to hypertension treatment among the elderly in the working area of Puskesmas Datah Kotou, Puruk Cahu. Methods: This research employs a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consists of 30 elderly individuals diagnosed with hypertension, and data were collected through a questionnaire measuring education level and adherence using the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8). Results: The results indicate that 83.3% of respondents have a low education level (elementary school), and 63.3% show low adherence to treatment. Statistical analysis reveals a significant relationship between education level and adherence, with a correlation coefficient of 0.691 and a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion: This study concludes that education level significantly affects the adherence of the elderly to hypertension treatment, highlighting the need for more effective health education interventions.

Abstract

Background and Objective: Energy drinks are commonly consumed as a fast and affordable solution to fatigue, especially among adolescents and young adults. However, public knowledge about their appropriate use and the health risks of excessive intake remains limited. Taurine (2-aminoethanesulfonic acid), a conditionally essential amino acid found in many energy drinks, contributes to several physiological functions. Excessive intake of taurine may adversely affect kidney function. Method: The method of this study using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. A 0.1% ninhydrin solution was used for qualitative testing, while UV-Vis spectrophotometry was employed for quantitative measurement. Proteins were precipitated using Carrez I and Carrez II reagents before analysis. Results: A purplish-blue color change in the qualitative test confirmed the presence of taurine. Quantitative analysis revealed taurine concentrations of 0.025% and 0.012% in the two samples.  Conclusion: The results validate UV-Vis spectrophotometry as a practical and dependable technique for analyzing taurine, highlighting the importance of educating the public on the associated health risks of excessive consumption.
