Abstract

A family business is a form of business that involves some family members in both ownership and operational activities. The existence of a family business depends heavily on the commitment of family members to maintain its sustainability and the owner's ability to handle family conflicts related to business inheritance. Efforts to maintain a family business must be a shared commitment of all family members. Therefore, family business leaders must possess a strong commitment and conflict management skills to prevent conflicts of interest within the family during the business's succession to their children and grandchildren. This study aims to uncover the forms of commitment and conflict management within families (community) in Pulutan Village during the pottery business succession process. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, in which the researcher served as the primary instrument. In addition to the researcher, other instruments included the village head, pottery artisans, pottery business owners, and the Pulutan Village community in general. Data collection used in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Data analysis utilized three simultaneous activity streams: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze public service innovation in malaria control through the Early Diagnosis and Treatment (EDAT) approach based on Village Malaria Workers (Juru Malaria Kampung/JMK) in Teluk Bintuni Regency. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the community-based EDAT model effectively improves accessibility, coverage, and responsiveness of health services through early diagnosis, treatment, and case reporting at the community level. The success of this innovation is supported by institutional support, community participation, and policy commitment, although constrained by limited funding, infrastructure, human resources, reporting systems, and health information support. Performance improvement strategies include strengthening human resource capacity, institutional support, financing, health information systems, and community empowerment. This innovation implies that the EDAT model represents a sustainable and adaptive community-based public health service innovation in malaria-endemic regions.

Abstract

Environmental degradation and the growing emphasis on sustainable development have urged organizations to extend their focus beyond mere economic performance. In this context employees’ pro-environmental behavior becomes a crucial element in the effective execution of organizational sustainability programs. This study seeks to investigate the influence of the work environment and green transformational leadership on employees’ green behavior with green motivation acting as a mediating variable at PT Hermed. A quantitative approach employing a causal associative design was applied in this research. The population consisted of all permanent employees of PT Hermed with a total sample of 53 respondents selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were gathered using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) utilizing SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that both the work environment and green transformational leadership exert a positive and significant impact on employees’ green behavior. Moreover these two variables also demonstrate a positive and significant effect on employees’ green motivation. Further analysis indicates that green motivation positively and significantly influences employees’ green behavior and serves as a mediating variable in the relationship between the work environment green transformational leadership and employees’ green behavior.

Abstract

Digital radicalization represents a transformation of security threats within the context of asymmetric warfare, where non-state actors utilize social media as a tool for ideological propaganda and information warfare. This phenomenon positions extremist narratives as strategic instruments to undermine ideological resilience, social cohesion, and state legitimacy. This essay aims to analyze the role of counter-narratives and alternative narratives as communication strategies in preventing digital radicalization in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method through literature review and policy analysis, drawing on academic sources, official government documents, and national legal frameworks related to defense and counterterrorism. The analysis reveals that counter-narratives function as non-military defense instruments operating within the cognitive and affective domains of society, while alternative narratives contribute to long-term ideological resilience. The effectiveness of these strategies is highly influenced by dissemination mechanisms within the social media ecosystem, including algorithmic dynamics, message messengers, and content formats. This essay concludes that integrating counter-narratives into Indonesia’s non-military defense strategy is a strategic necessity in addressing digital radicalization and asymmetric warfare threats.

Abstract

This scoping review examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is utilized to enhance academic performance in higher education. Despite growing student reliance on AI, comprehensive mapping of its applications and effectiveness remains limited. Using the PCC framework, empirical studies published in Scopus (2021–2025) were analyzed to identify forms of AI use, system types, research trends, and factors influencing implementation outcomes. Findings show that AI—especially Generative AI based on Large Language Models—improves academic performance by strengthening learning engagement and motivation. The review highlights a research shift from exploring AI’s potential to empirically evaluating its impact and emphasizes the need for an integrated conceptual model incorporating cognitive, motivational, and technology acceptance dimensions in AI-based learning.

Abstract

This research attempts to investigate the effects of funds structure, firm growth, and profitability on business value, using sustainability reporting and good corporate governance (GCG) as moderating factors. Using secondary data from the financial statements and sustainability reports of consumer products businesses listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) between 2020 and 2024, the study takes a quantitative method. Purposive sampling was used to choose the sample, yielding 15 firms with 75 firm-year observations overall. Regression analysis of panel data was used with EViews software. According to the empirical findings, firm value is positively and significantly impacted by capital structure and business expansion, but profitability has no discernible impact. Additionally, the relationship between capital structure and company growth on firm value is found to be moderated by good corporate governance (GCG), although the association between profitability and firm value is not moderated by GCG. Sustainability reporting, on the other hand, does not mitigate the impact of profitability on firm value; rather, it moderates the relationship between capital structure and firm growth on firm value.

Abstract

This study analyzes the dynamics of health indicators in Timor-Leste over the past decade as a reflection of the development of the national health system within a post-conflict and resource-constrained context. The study aims to examine how social, cultural, economic, and policy factors particularly the influence of the Catholic Church, gender-based violence (GBV), and international aid have shaped population health outcomes. A longitudinal approach was applied using secondary data from national health records and international health agencies, covering maternal and child health, infectious disease prevalence, mental health conditions, and GBV-related indicators. The findings show notable progress in several health indicators, including increased antenatal care coverage; however, substantial disparities persist, especially in rural areas, driven by socio-cultural barriers, limited access to healthcare services, workforce constraints, and continued dependence on external assistance. These results indicate that improvements in health outcomes are closely linked to broader structural and contextual determinants rather than clinical interventions alone.
