Abstract

Slope stability is an important aspect in construction planning, especially in areas with weak soil conditions and high rainfall that have the potential to trigger landslides. This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in pile depth in combination with retaining walls (DPT) on increasing slope stability. The method used is numerical analysis using Plaxis software with a Mohr-Coulomb soil model based on secondary data of geotechnical parameters. The variations in pile depth described include 12 meters, 16 meters, 19 meters, and 20 meters. The results of the analysis show that the existing slope condition has a safety factor (SF) value of 1.270 and decreases to 1.064 after being given additional loads, which indicates unstable conditions. The application of DPT and pile reinforcement can significantly increase the SF value, with values of 1.540 (12 m), 1.124 (16 m), 2.354 (19 m), and 2.450 (20 m), respectively. A depth of 19 meters is determined as the optimal condition because it provides a significant and efficient increase in stability. Thus, variations in pile depth have been shown to significantly impact slope stability and can be used as a reference in designing safe and economical slope reinforcement.

Abstract

This study investigates low rise construction located in Aceh Besar, Aceh Province – Indonesia, with shallow strip masonry foundation system exhibiting wall cracking on their wall sections. The damage is suspected caused by the shrink – swell behaviour in fine-grained moisture sensitive soil. Laboratory testing was conducted to obtain soil properties including water content, unit weight, Atteberg Limits and sieve analysis for soil gradation. Further, by using the soil mechanic framework, the analysis shows that seasonal change in moisture content leads to shrink-swell behaviour and volumetric change. The volumetric change was spatially non-uniform causing differential local movement in the supporting ground beneath foundation. The observed crack patterns are in agreement with this local ground settlement inducing tensile stress in masonry infill wall due to this differential movement of ground support. The findings reflect that even soil with moderate plasticity and activity can caused significant structural stress upon subjected to drying-wetting cycle. The study also indicates that the main cause of this damage is the incompatibility between supporting ground with the above rigid body of structure due to non-uniformity volumetric change in supporting ground induced by shrink-swell behaviour of soil. In general, several essential things to highlight for this study are environmental condition change, soil behaviour and structural response/soil structure interaction in low rise construction with shallow foundation system.

Abstract

The advancement of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Generative AI) technology has driven increased use of AI-based applications across various sectors, including education, productivity, digital services, and information retrieval. The high intensity of usage generates massive volumes of user reviews on digital platforms, containing valuable information regarding user satisfaction, experience, and perception of system service quality. This study aims to analyze the sentiment of user reviews toward Generative AI applications using a Python-based Naïve Bayes algorithm. The dataset consists of 50,000 user reviews covering five Generative AI applications: ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Perplexity, and Claude. The research pipeline includes text preprocessing stages of case folding, cleaning, tokenizing, stopword removal, and feature transformation using TF-IDF with unigram and bigram representations. Data are then classified into three sentiment categories (positive, negative, neutral) using three variants of the Naïve Bayes algorithm: Multinomial, Complement, and Bernoulli. Results show a sentiment distribution of 33,695 positive (67.4%), 13,275 negative (26.6%), and 3,030 neutral (6.1%) reviews. Multinomial Naïve Bayes achieved the best performance with an accuracy of 83.07%, precision 77.79%, recall 83.07%, and F1-score 80.29%. Five-fold cross-validation confirmed stable performance with a mean accuracy of 82.31% and a standard deviation of 0.23%.

Abstract

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder triggered by the consumption of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. Individuals with celiac disease must adhere to a strict gluten-free diet, as gluten intake can damage the intestinal villi, impair nutrient absorption, and increase the risk of malnutrition. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of formulation soybean flour (Glycine max) and arrowroot flour (Maranta arundinacea) on the characteristics of cookies as a gluten-free food alternative for individuals with celiac disease. The formulations used were F1 (20% soybean flour: 80% arrowroot flour), F2 (50%:50%), and F3 (70%:30%). The analyzed parameters included moisture content, color intensity (L*, a*, b*), and organoleptic attributes (color, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptance) assessed by 15 trained panelists. Data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA followed by LSD at a 95% confidence level. The results showed that the highest moisture content was found in F3 (5.58%), exceeding the SNI 2973-2018 standard (<5%). The color analysis indicated differences in brightness and yellowness among formulations: F1 tended to be brighter, F2 more reddish, and F3 more yellowish. The sensory evaluation revealed a significant difference in color preference among formulations (p = 0.023), with the highest score observed in F3. Meanwhile, aroma, taste, texture, and overall acceptance showed no significant differences (p > 0.05).

Abstract

This study aims to implement the Decision Tree method to classify scholarship eligibility based on student data. The dataset used consisted of 4,424 student records with 35 numerical attributes covering academic, administrative, and socioeconomic aspects. The preprocessing stage included data quality checking, feature selection, and dataset splitting into training and testing data with a ratio of 70:30. From the initial 35 attributes, 16 main attributes were selected as the most relevant features to the target variable. The classification model was developed using the Decision Tree algorithm and evaluated using a confusion matrix, accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score. The results showed that the model achieved an accuracy of 75.08% and a weighted average F1-score of 75.16%. Attributes such as Curricular units 2nd sem (approved), Curricular units 2nd sem (grade), and Tuition fees up to date were identified as the most influential factors in the classification process. Although the dataset had a class imbalance condition, this study maintained the original data distribution without applying oversampling techniques such as SMOTE in order to preserve the actual conditions of the scholarship selection process. In addition to providing fairly good classification performance, the Decision Tree method was also able to produce a transparent, interpretable, and easy-to-understand model through the resulting decision tree structure.

Abstract

Adolescence is a vulnerable period in the formation of eating behaviors, where body image and nutritional knowledge can affect the tendency to consume fattening foods. This study aims to determine the relationship between body image and nutritional knowledge with the consumption of fattening foods in high school students in the city of Surakarta. This study used an observational quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach on 174 respondents who were selected using multistage random sampling and proportional random sampling techniques. Data were collected using body image questionnaires (MBSRQ-AS), nutrition knowledge questionnaires, and SQ-FFQ, then analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The results showed that most of the respondents had a negative body image (51.72%), good nutrition knowledge (84.49%), and consumption of fattening foods in the category of excess intake (63.8%). There was no relationship between body image and fattening food consumption (p=0.126), but there was a relationship between nutritional knowledge and fattening food consumption (p=0.034; r=-0.161), which shows that the better the nutritional knowledge, the lower the consumption of fattening foods. Thus, improving nutrition education is important to support the formation of healthier consumption behaviors in adolescents.

Abstract

Adolescent nutrition problems are still a concern due to the imbalance between nutrient intake and needs during a period of rapid growth. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the percentage of conformity of macronutrient intake with nutritional status in high school adolescents in Surakarta based on energy distribution. This study is an observational study with a cross-sectional design  involving 221 respondents selected through  a proportional random sampling technique. Macronutrient intake data was collected using  3x24-hour food recall and analyzed with NutriSurvey 2007, while nutritional status was determined based on BMI by age (BMI/U) using WHO AnthroPlus. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test  with a significance level of p<0.05. The results showed that most of the respondents had normal nutritional status (72.9%). The percentage of appropriate protein intake was significantly associated with nutritional status (p=0.037), while the percentage of appropriate fat (p=0.111) and carbohydrate (p=0.911) intakes did not show a significant relationship. This demonstrates the importance of appropriate amino acid intake for somatic growth and indicates that adolescents have metabolic flexibility in regulating energy sources. Future researchers are advised to expand the scope of variables to include physical activity, snacking behavior, and social factors.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the level of compliance with the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) at Gambut Barakat Terminal, Km 6 Banjarmasin Terminal, and H. Soemarsono Tanah Laut Terminal based on the Regulation of the Minister of Transportation Number 40 of 2015 concerning Minimum Service Standards for Passenger Terminals. This research employed a descriptive evaluative method by assessing the conformity level of facilities and services at each terminal. Data were collected through field observations and documentation based on SPM indicators, including safety, security, reliability or regularity, comfort, accessibility, and equality aspects. The assessment was conducted using a scoring system to determine the level of service fulfillment at each terminal. The results indicate that the implementation of SPM at the three terminals is still uneven. Km 6 Banjarmasin Terminal showed a higher level of service fulfillment compared to the other terminals, while H. Soemarsono Tanah Laut Terminal had the lowest fulfillment level, particularly in safety and equality aspects. The correlation test results revealed a strong positive relationship between terminal classification and the level of SPM fulfillment, indicating that terminals with higher classifications tend to provide more complete facilities and better services. The low level of SPM fulfillment at several terminals is influenced by limited facilities, operational management, and the suboptimal implementation of service standards. The findings of this study are expected to serve as evaluation material for improving the quality of passenger terminal services in South Kalimantan.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus is a chronic hyperglikemia codition that can impair wound healing due to distrupted tissue regeneration and alterrations in skin histological structure. Burn wounds under diabetic conditions tend to experience delayed healing as a result of decreased fibroblast activity, suboptimal collagen formation, and impaired angiogenesis. Soursoup leaves (Annona muricata l.) are known to contain bioactive compounds that may support the wound healing process. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiviness of soursoup leaf extract gel on burn wound healing in alloxan-induced diabetic rats through histological into six groups, consisting of a normal control, negative control, positive control ( Bioplacenton ), and treatment groups receiving soursoup leaf extract gel at concentration of 5%,10% and 15%. The observed parameters included the percentage of wound healing and histological festures of skin tissue, namely fibroblast count, collagen density and capillary formation. The result showed that administration of soursoup leaf increased number of fibroblast, improved collagen formation and enchanced skin tissue regeneration. Soursoup leaf extract gel has the potency accelerate burn wound heaing in alloxan-induced diabetic rats through improvement of skin tissue histological structure.
