Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) are disorders affecting muscles, joints, and supporting tissues commonly experienced by workers due to non-ergonomic working postures and repetitive activities. Low levels of knowledge, attitudes, and motivation regarding MSDs prevention indicate the need for effective and innovative occupational health education. SNI Gotrak education using Quizizz-based interactive learning media may serve as an alternative approach to improve workers’ knowledge, attitudes, and motivation toward MSDs prevention. This study aimed to determine the effect of SNI Gotrak education using Quizizz media on knowledge, attitudes, and motivation for MSDs prevention among workers. This study used a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample was selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected before and after the intervention using questionnaires on knowledge, attitudes, and motivation, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed an increase in respondents’ knowledge, attitudes, and motivation after the intervention. The Wilcoxon test showed a p-value < 0.05, indicating a significant difference before and after the intervention. Therefore, SNI Gotrak education using Quizizz media significantly improved workers’ knowledge, attitudes, and motivation regarding MSDs prevention.

Abstract

Handwashing with soap is a key clean and healthy behavior that plays an important role in preventing infectious diseases among school-aged children. However, the low levels of students’ knowledge, attitudes, and skills indicate the need for effective and engaging health education. One of the media that can be used is memory cards as an interactive educational tool. This study aimed to determine the effect of memory card media on knowledge, attitudes, and handwashing skills among elementary school students. The study employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of students from SDN 016 Samarinda Ulu, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected before and after the intervention using knowledge and attitude questionnaires, as well as an observation checklist for handwashing skills. Data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon test. The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge, attitudes, and skills after the intervention, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). In conclusion, memory card media is effective in improving students’ knowledge, attitudes, and handwashing skills, and has the potential to serve as an interactive and relevant health education alternative in school settings.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a manufacturing industry that operates in the field of automotive component production, especially handle seat track adjuster which functions as a part for adjusting the position of the seat of a four-wheeled vehicle. The problem faced by the company is the high level of product defects due to the manufacturing process stamping and bending which is not yet optimal. There are three types defect the main thing is burry, not enough bending, and the material expands, with defect burry as the largest contributor, reaching 370 units out of a total production of 20,700 units. From October to December, the highest product defect rate occurred in December, with a percentage of 3.84%. This study aims to analyze and propose improvements to reduce the defect rate using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC approach (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Analysis using Pareto diagrams and fishbone diagram shows that the main cause defect derived from machine, method, material, and human factors. The results of the study show an average value defect of 2.85% with a DPMO of 9,530.42 and a sigma level of 3.87. The proposed improvements are focused on maintenance dies, standardization of machine parameters, material quality control, and increasing operator competence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the characteristics of the Limantara Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (SUH) based on morphometric parameters in the Klawoguk Watershed. Watershed morphometric parameters were extrated from Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and river network maps using Geographic Information System. The time lag (Tg), rainfall time (Tr), time to peak (Tp), and peak discharge (Qp) values ​​in each sub-watershed were determined as input for the Limantara SUH. The results showed that the morphometric characteristics of the Klawoguk Watershed have an influence on the Limantara SUH. The variability in watershed area, the length of the main river, the length of the river to the center of gravity of the watershed, and the slope of the river cause differences in the values ​​of Tg, Tr, Tp, and Qp. Sub-watershed 5 has the highest peak discharge of 0,558 m³/s and a peak time of 1,308 hours while the sub-watershed 2 has the lowest peak discharge of 0,231 m³/s. The hydrographs of all sub-watersheds also show a rapid increase in discharge (rising limb) and a slower decrease in discharge (recession limb), indicating a greater influence of surface runoff than infiltration. The larger the watershed area and the length of the main river, the resulting hydrograph has a longer recession time with a higher peak discharge value. Conversely, a steeper river slope results in a faster flow response. This indicates that the Limantara HSS method describes the characteristics of the watershed's hydrological response based on morphometric parameters.

Abstract

The results of the 2024 survey on young girls at SMAN 1 Kartasura showed that 28,03% of young girls had anemia. There are quite a lot of aspect that cause anemia, one of them refers to the attitude of students towards adherence with the consumption of blood tablets. The research goals to analyze the connection amid attitudes in the prevention of anemia also the status of anemia in adolescent girls at SMAN 1 Kartasura, Sukoharjo Regency. One of them has to do withThis utilized a cross-sectional, quantitative design. Utilizing the simple random sampling method, 83 female students made up the research sample. Data gathering was done through filling out a questionnaire to measure the respondent's attitude as well as checking hemoglobin levels using the Cyanmethemoglobin method. The attitude category is determined based on the median value, namely positive attitude (≥70,00) and negative (<70,00), while anemia status is classified into anemia (<12 g/dL) and non anemia (≥12 g/dL). According to the study's findings, 54.2% of respondents had a favourable attitude about anaemia prevention. 66.3% of people with an optimistic outlook do not suffer from anaemia. Attitude and anaemia status did not significantly correlate, according to the Chi-Square test (p=0,310). This indicates that attitude is not a aspect that directly impacts the status of anemia, because there are still other aspect that directly impact hemoglobin levels, namely the intake of nutrients both from food and supplements, tablets with blood or other supplements.

Abstract

Nutritional problems among adolescents, such as undernutrition, overnutrition, and obesity, remain public health challenges that require attention. According to the 2018 Riskesdas survey, the prevalence of overnutrition among adolescents aged 16–18 years reached 9.5%, with physical activity being one of the factors that play a role in maintaining the body’s energy balance. This study aims to analyze the relationship between daily physical activity levels and nutritional status among adolescents at Batik 1 High School in Surakarta. The theoretical framework used includes the concept of adolescent nutritional status based on the Age-Adjusted Body Mass Index (BMI/A) as well as Brown’s (2005) modified theoretical framework. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 62 11th-grade students selected using simple random sampling. Nutritional status data were obtained through anthropometric measurements, while physical activity levels were assessed using the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A). The results showed that the majority of respondents had an overnutrition status (50%) and moderate physical activity levels (50%). Analysis using Spearman’s rank correlation test yielded a p-value of 0.188 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant association between physical activity and nutritional status. These findings suggest that adolescents’ nutritional status is influenced by various factors other than physical activity, such as dietary patterns, energy intake, and lifestyle behaviors.

Abstract

Data security and traceability are crucial aspects for calibration laboratories to meet the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard. LPT SPIN already uses a Laboratory Information Management System  (LIMS) for data management, but the system is still limited to a local network and does not yet have secure remote access facilities. This condition poses operational obstacles as well as information security risks that can impact the fulfillment of accreditation requirements. This study aims to design and analyze a controlled access system to the LIMS application using a firewall and Virtual Private Network (VPN) to improve security and access flexibility in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The research methods used are a descriptive approach to analyze the existing system and an experimental approach to design, implement, and test the proposed system. The implementation was carried out by applying a firewall as a network traffic controller and a VPN as an encrypted remote access medium. The results showed that the designed system was able to improve network security, restrict access to authorized users only, and enable remote access to the LIMS application without significantly compromising system performance. In addition, the proposed system design was considered to have met the information security and access control principles required in ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between the intensity of social media use and breakfast habits on the nutritional status of adolescents at SMP Negeri 6 Surakarta. The methodology employed was a cross-sectional design with a quantitative orientation and included 92 participants recruited using non-probability sampling techniques. Data collection regarding social media use was conducted using a validated questionnaire (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.914), while breakfast habits were assessed using a 24-hour recall method over a one-week period, and nutritional status was evaluated using the Age-Adjusted Body Mass Index (BMI/A). Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-Square test. The study findings revealed that the majority of participants (82.6%) fell into the category of optimal social media use, 76.1% had breakfast habits that met their energy needs, and 53.3% had a normal nutritional status. However, 32.6% of participants showed signs of overnutrition and 6.5% were obese. The statistical test results indicated no significant association between social media use and nutritional status (p=0.817), nor was there an association between breakfast habits—as assessed by energy (p=0.421), protein (p=0.628), fat (p=0.672), and carbohydrate (p=0.496) intake—and nutritional status. It can be concluded that adolescents’ nutritional status is not solely influenced by social media use or breakfast habits, but rather results from the accumulation of various factors such as the overall quality of daily dietary patterns, physical activity levels, and family socioeconomic conditions.

Abstract

The implementation of an Environmental Management System based on ISO 14001:2015 is a strategic instrument for improving environmental performance, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This study aims to analyze the level of conformity of the Environmental Management System implementation at PT XYZ with the ISO 14001:2015 standard based on internal audit results using a gap analysis approach. The study employed a quantitative descriptive method with gap analysis of data obtained from the ISO 14001:2015 audit checklist. The analysis was conducted by comparing the actual implementation conditions of each clause with the standard requirements and subsequently classifying them according to their level of conformity. The results indicate that the implementation of the Environmental Management System generally falls within the moderately compliant category across most clauses. The highest levels of conformity were found in resource provision (100%), the scope of the Environmental Management System (87.5%), and risks and opportunities (87.5%). However, a significant gap was identified in the aspect of roles, responsibilities, and authorities (33.3%), which was categorized as poorly compliant. In addition, regulatory compliance, environmental objectives, monitoring, and internal audits each achieved a conformity level of 50%, indicating that their implementation has not yet been carried out consistently.

Abstract

Biology laboratories play a crucial role in science education at high schools, but the availability of equipment and the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards are still not fully optimized. This study aims to identify the availability, suitability of equipment, and compliance of facilities with OSH standards at SMAN X Jakarta. A descriptive qualitative method was applied through observation, interviews with biology teachers and lab assistants, and documentation. The results show that equipment availability reached 72.2% (good category) and all equipment was in good condition. The storage system is neatly organized with proper labeling. The available OSH facilities (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, PPE, ventilation, alarms, and signs) functioned well; however, the availability rate of OSH facilities was only 54.5% (adequate category) because evacuation routes, emergency exits, and eyewash stations were not yet available. The implementation of OSH is sufficiently adequate, with safety instructions and the use of PPE by students. The availability of appropriate equipment and the proper implementation of OSH are crucial for supporting safe and efficient laboratory practice. The study recommends the addition of emergency facilities, increased periodic supervision, and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment to support the quality of biology education and the safety of all laboratory users.
