Abstract

This article aims to uncover the strategies used by the Pacman Mansda supporter community at MAN Sidoarjo to build a positive image. This effort was carried out in response to negative stereotypes that accused the group of being undisciplined and significantly disrupting school order. Using a qualitative case study design involving Pacman Mansda administrators and members as the main subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using systematic data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the Pacman Mansda community uses image repair strategies carried out by individual members and the community collective. Pacman adopted three of the five strategies of Benoit's Image Repair Theory: (1) corrective action, (2) reducing offensiveness, and (3) evasion of responsibility. Denial and mortification strategies were not implemented, which was due to the consequences of the unequal power relations between teachers and students in the educational environment. Evidence shows that the school believes more in concrete actions than in apologies. The conclusion confirms that real behavioral transformation and proactive involvement in positive school activities are the most effective strategies in reconstructing the community image to be more constructive and acceptable.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of the Ma'had Al-Hikmah program in increasing the value of independent character in female students at MAN Sidoarjo as well as identifying supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with the subjects being caregivers, daily administrators and female students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The theory used is Albert Bandura's social learning theory, where learning is through observation, imitation, and habituation to positive behavior. Apart from that, the character values ​​instilled reflect Imam Al-Ghazali's concept of moral education which emphasizes character formation through practice and example. The research results show that the Ma'had Al-Hikmah program is implemented through activities such as tahfidz classes, qira'atul poles, tahajud prayers, congregational prayers, daily pickets, ro'an, and takror. This program plays an important role in cultivating independent character values ​​in female students. Based on indicators of independence according to Sumarmo, female students show improvements in academic aspects (learning initiative and self-evaluation), emotional (self-control and self-confidence), social (responsibility and cooperation), and practical/physical (time management and not depending on other people). Supporting factors for this activity include the enthusiasm of the female students, cooperation with the management, and support from Ma'had facilities. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are limited facilities, busy activities, and lack of discipline on the part of female students and female students' guardians. Abstract

This research aims to describe the strengthening of religious moderation among Madrasah Aliyah students at Pondok Pesantren Ash-Shomadiyah Tuban. This study stems from the phenomenon of radicalism and terrorism emerging amidst Indonesia's diversity. Religious moderation is seen as a strategic policy to maintain social harmony, especially within the pesantren environment. The focus of this research is the forms of activities for strengthening religious moderation and the moderate attitudes demonstrated by the students. The research uses an exploratory qualitative approach with participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation techniques. Analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman model with the stages of data collection, reduction, display, and data verification. Data validity was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The results show that the strengthening of religious moderation is realized through Matsama activities, the learning of Pancasila and Civics, Sociology, Indonesian History, and Islamic Morals. Additionally, Leadership Training activities involving visits to the Military District Command 0811 Tuban, Kembang Putih Museum, Kwan Sing Bio Temple, and Free Pulpit extracurricular activities. Madrasa and pesantren cultural practices such as independence ceremonies, pilgrimage to the tombs of revered figures, thanksgiving rituals (selametan), and sea offerings also serve as a means of internalizing moderate values. The students' attitudes are reflected in their love for the homeland, appreciation for differences, maintaining harmony through dialogue, and respecting pesantren culture and local wisdom. This strengthening is aligned with the four indicators of religious moderation set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs: national commitment, tolerance, anti-violence, and accommodation of local culture. Abstract

The widespread spread of hoaxes in the digital space poses a serious challenge to the formation of critical and responsible citizens, particularly among students. This phenomenon demonstrates that the issue of hoaxes is not only related to information technology aspects, but also a citizenship issue that demands strengthening digital literacy through education. This study aims to analyze the role of Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) learning in improving digital literacy and student resilience to hoaxes by strengthening civic knowledge, civic skills, and civic disposition. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive analytical research type. The research subjects were grade VIII D students of SMP Negeri 2 Balen who were selected purposely. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, learning observations, and analysis of lesson planning documents. The results of the study indicate that contextual and reflective PPKn learning can strengthen students' understanding of hoaxes as a citizenship issue (civic knowledge), develop critical thinking and communication skills in responding to digital information (civic skills), and form an attitude of caution, social responsibility, and commitment to Pancasila values ​​in the use of digital media (civic disposition). However, the implementation of learning still faces challenges such as low initial digital literacy levels among students, limited learning time, the strong influence of social media outside of school, and teacher preparedness. These findings confirm that Civics (PPKn) plays a strategic role in building resilience against hoaxes through an integrated strengthening of digital citizenship competencies

Abstract

Indonesia, known as the world's “disaster laboratory,” requires educational institutions to transform from mere centers of knowledge transmission into units with independent disaster preparedness capabilities. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of the Scout Movement in strengthening school resilience through the integration of applicable and contextual disaster literacy. The research method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of scientific publications and policy documents from 2016 to 2026 that discuss disaster education, scouting, and school resilience. The results of the study show a competency gap between the great potential of the Scout Movement, particularly through the Special Proficiency Requirements (SKK) curriculum, and its implementation in the field, which is still dominated by ceremonial activities and is not yet based on local disaster risks. The low level of understanding of Scout leaders regarding standard operating procedures (SOPs) for disasters and the limited availability of practical simulation facilities are the main factors hindering the strengthening of students' psychomotor skills. As a synthesis, this study formulates a collaborative resilience model that integrates school managerial policies with Scouting tactical skills. The synchronization between the Disaster Safe School program and Scouting activities is considered capable of building a sustainable, applicable, and adaptive disaster mitigation ecosystem against future disaster threats.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of multicultural values in Civic Education (PKn) learning to address the use of impolite language at SMP Negeri 34 Surabaya. This research originated from the phenomenon of students frequently using impolite language, which can disrupt the learning atmosphere and social relationships within the school. The focus of this study lies in two main aspects: the strategies employed by Civics Education (PKn) teachers in implementing multicultural values, and students’ experiences related to the use of inappropriate language during classroom activities. The study is limited to Civics Education learning, emphasizing the values of humanism, democracy, and pluralism. Based on observations and interviews, it was found that PKn teachers successfully integrated multicultural values through discussion methods, case studies, and exemplary communication practices. Students showed increased awareness in language use; they began to abandon the habit of speaking impolite and became more careful in choosing words. Multicultural-based Civics Education learning proved effective in creating an inclusive classroom atmosphere that appreciates diversity. From these findings, it can be concluded that the application of multicultural values in Civics Education is effective in reducing impolite verbal behavior in school. Therefore, it is recommended that Civics Education teachers consistently instill multicultural values, and that schools support this effort by fostering a positive culture that respects differences and strengthens students’ character.

Abstract

This research aims to develop digital e-book learning media on the meaning of the motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika for grade XI students at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya. The research problem was identified through field observations and interviews, which showed that learning was still dominated by lecture methods using conventional teaching materials, causing students to have difficulty understanding the philosophical meaning of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika motto in context. This study used the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) development model, involving 35 students in class XI RPL 2 as test subjects. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, teacher validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the developed digital e-book obtained a teacher validation score of 90.67% in the “Highly Valid” category, meeting the eligibility standards in terms of material suitability, content accuracy, presentation systematics, visual appearance, language, and media usability in learning. Meanwhile, student responses to the digital e-book showed an average score of 78.33% in the “Valid” category, indicating that this learning medium is effective, interesting, easy to use, and helps students understand the meaning of the Bhinneka Tunggal Ika motto through the integration of multimedia and contextual interactive features. This digital e-book also makes a significant contribution.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengalaman anggota dan pengurus PIK-R Kompas dalam mengikuti berbagai kegiatan di ekstrakurikuler PIK-R Kompas serta menganalisis dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kepercayaan diri remaja di SMA Negeri 1 Boyolangu, Kabupaten Tulungagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan teori Experiential Learning David Kolb dan difokuskan pada peran ekstrakurikuler PIK-R Kompas dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepercayaan diri anggota dan pengurus PIK-R Kompas mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan setelah mengikuti kegiatan ekstrakurikuler PIK-R Kompas. Berdasarkan data dari 180 responden, sebelum mengikuti kegiatan sebagian besar anggota dan pengurus PIK-R berada pada kategori rendah (87,22%), sedangkan setelah mengikuti kegiatan mayoritas berada pada kategori sangat baik (61,11%) dan baik (35,00%). Peningkatan tersebut terjadi melalui keterlibatan aktif anggota dan pengurus dalam berbagai kegiatan seperti diklat, LDK, reorganisasi, melakukan sosialisasi, latihan rutin, pelatihan public speaking, membuat flower fest dan genfresh yang dilaksanakan selama tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Seluruh rangkaian kegiatan tersebut mampu mengubah sikap remaja dari pasif menjadi lebih berani berbicara, berani menyampaikan pendapat, berani berinteraksi dengan orang baru dan berani beradaptasi dengan lingkungan baru. Proses pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman memungkinkan anggota dan pengurus PIK-R belajar secara langsung, melakukan refleksi, membangun pemahaman baru dan mempraktikkannya kembali. Dengan demikian, ekstrakurikuler PIK-R Kompas terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri dan kemampuan sosial remaja.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' argumentation skills through the application of the debate simulation method in Pancasila Education classes for grade XI-B at SMAN 7 Surabaya. The study used a classroom action research approach with Kemmis & McTaggart's reflective spiral model, which was implemented in three cycles over two months. The research subjects were 30-35 students in class XI-B, with data collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the interactive analysis method of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the application of the debate simulation method successfully improved students' argumentation skills significantly. In Cycle I, students adapted to the debate method and began to show the courage to express their opinions. In Cycle II, using a simple argument structure worksheet, students were able to construct a more coherent argumentation logic. In Cycle III, students had achieved a comprehensive level of argumentation, based on data and accompanied by objective rebuttals. In addition to improving argumentation skills, this method also developed 21st-century competencies, increased self-confidence, fostered democratic attitudes, and trained students in collaboration.
