This qualitative research is classified as a case study that aims to describe and analyze the principal's solution strategy for online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic at SDN SumputSidoarjo. The data were collected through observation, interviews with three people, namely the principal, secretary and treasurer of SDN SumputSidoarjo, and also documentary studies. Data analysis was carried out through the process of condensing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study showed that the Principal applied a solution strategy in the form of developing the potential of teachers through training for HR, providing online extracurricular services for students, preparing adequate learning tools for learning and optimizing the use of BOS(School Operational Funds). The obstacles faced in implementing the principal's strategies and solutions for learning during the Covid 19 pandemic were the human resource factors, heterogeneity of student guardians, limited funds and communication. In response to this, the Principal has taken a policy to develop HR competencies, relax financial financing and open a two-way communication forum between parents and schools.

The Covid-19 pandemic has made changes in all fields, including education. Everyone in the field of education is required to do online learning. There are many obstacles in online learning, one of which is the decline of the academic quality of students. The purpose of this study is to find out the best practices of leadership implemented by the Principal of SD MuhammadiyahKarangkajen 4 Yogyakarta in improving the academic quality of students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The researchers used qualitative method and the data of the research were collectedthrough observation and interviews with school principal and the teachers. The results of this study showed that the principal opened a learning consultation service in schools. Beside the school continued implementing the health protocols recommended by the government and several requirements such as teachers and students must be in good health, not from outside the city, and no family has been affected by COVID-19. The existence of study consultations at schoolmade thestudents more enthusiastic in learning, more responsible in doing their tasks, their academic scores increase.

This study aimed to assess, explore and describe management strategies to improve students’ HOTS in English practice. Research was focused on planning, implementing, and evaluating in improving English learning. This study used descriptive qualitative research, the subjects were owners of the event organizer, students, and volunteer. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that planning was written in the guidebook and arranged based on need analysis that has been done. Implementation was tuning in planning project, HOTS implementation activities in junior high schools were more concerned on students' confidence level in English communication and the application of HOTS in the real world. Meanwhile, the application of HOTS in Senior high school was more emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving. The evaluation was divided into two parts, the evaluation of participants was to measure the achievement level of learning and evaluation of activities was measuring for the improvement of the event.

One of the components that must be considered in improving the quality of education is the school management component. Some of the issues include school management components such as the competence of school principals, management of facilities and infrastructure, management of teachers and education personnel, financial management, curriculum management and management of student interests and talents. This study aims to determine the level of teacher understanding of the components of school management which consists of 14 statements as well as a real portrait of the condition of school management at the elementary level. The method used is descriptive quantitative. The data were obtained using questionnaire and interview techniques. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, then triangulation was carried out on respondents and schools with the lowest scores. The sample used was 6 Islamic education teachers and 6 non-Islamic education teachers at the elementary level. The results showed that the understanding of the PAI teacher group was 3.3 greater than the non-Islamic Education teacher group of 2.8. The existing condition of school management for both Islamic Education and Non-Islamic Education teachers got the same scores of 3.3. Some of the lowest school management indicators were found, such as clean living habits in the school environment and sources of funding other than BOS funds (School Operational Fund). From these findings, the researcher has a recommendation to incorporate programs that have minimal achievements into the school’s vision and mission.

The OBE approach has already been practised in educational institutions in Malaysia, whether in primary, secondary, or higher education. The use of the OBE approach has become an alternative to traditional educational methodology, which prepares the students before entering the working world and to face the challenges of life after completing their studies. This study was conducted to measure the influence of the OBE approach on the Islamic Studies I course OBE achievement. 30 students who have taken the Islamic Studies I course in polytechnics have participated in this study. A set of questionnaires was used to obtain quantitative data and the data were analysed using SPSS 17. 0. The findings show that the contribution of self-regulated learning strategies towards the grade of Islamic Studies I was 13. 9%. Strategies frequently used by the respondents include; studying with friends, repeating and organizing. However, repeating has mostly contributed to the grade and followed by studying with friends. It is because students need to memorize verses and recitation of the daily prayers for the practical test. Islamic Studies I also involves group assignments which leads to the study groups approach. In conclusion, self-learning strategies have minimally contributed to achieving OBE.

Literacy-based independent learning planning is important to be applied in the science learning process. The principal as the manager of SMP Negeri 12 Sijunjung was very enthusiastic in welcoming the concept of independent learning. Teachers and observers of education at SMP Negeri 12 Sijunjung hope that the concept of independent learning that will be applied by the school will bring positive changes to the development of the quality of education at that school because this will help provide students with the skills needed in the 21st century. The results showed that, planning in the literacy-based independent learning program in science learning at SMP Negeri 12 Sijunjung was conducted by holding deliberations with various related elements. Planning lessons was carried out in the classroom, and outside, planning in learning was cnducted by carrying out a literacy movement that has 2 goals, namely general goals and specific goals. Planning constraints in the literacy-based independent learning program in science learning at SMP Negeri 12 Sijunjung consists of 3 obstacles, namely: 1). Lack of human resources who can understand literacy programs properly and correctly; 2) time for literacy activities at school; and 3) the school library is only limited to the school library, and the library collection only provides school books, very few other additional books.

Leadership plays an important role in realizing the vision and mission of educational institutions. Various models of suitable leadership styles can be adopted and applied by a school principal at the educational institution he leads. During the Covid-19 pandemic, a leader needs to apply the right leadership style. The transformational leadership style in high school (SMA) is quite ideal to be applied during the Covid pandemic. Transformational leadership has a close meaning with charismatic and vision, because by definition it focuses on change and transformation. Transformational leadership has four characteristics known as the 4Is, namely Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation, and Individual Consideration. Transformational leadership style has a significant and positive influence to bring about change. This leadership style is one of the leadership styles that can be implemented in high school during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Principals are leaders in educational institutions who have an influence on the achievement of the school's vision and mission. The regional situation that continues to change due to the Covid-19 pandemic requires leadership who is able to read the opportunities and challenges when the crisis is not over. Leadership with a situational approach is one form of solution in implementing the ever-changing educational process. Situational approach models which include contingency leadership, three-dimensional leadership and situational leadership models, are the right choice to be implemented in high school. Because the condition of the area that changes easily from the green, yellow and red zones demands changes in the learning process. With situational leadership any problems and changes in regional conditions can be overcome.

The leadership style of a principal certainly affects the progress of the school, including graduates, teacher performance and so on. The purpose of this study was to find out what leadership style is used by the principal at MTsM Sulit Air through teacher responses. The research method used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted using interview, observation and documentation studies. The research subjects were teachers at MTsM Sulit Air. The leadership style of the head of MTsM Sulit Air that stands out is a transformative and democratic leadership style. This can be seen from the results of the study which can be concluded that the principal is responsible in every task, is ready to accept the risks of what he does, accepts criticism, consults when there are problems and many other principals' attitudes that support the principal's transformative leadership style and also democratic.

The graduates quality is an indicator of the school success in carrying out its function to improve the quality of graduates at schools. To improve graduates quality, the principal plays an important role in applying his/her roles, functions and strategies. This study aims to examine the strategies used by the principal in improving graduates quality in SMA Negeri 1 Batusangkar. The methodology used in this research is qualitative descriptive method in form of case study. Case study research aims to reveal a case that occured in a certain place at a certain time. The result of this study indicated that there are three main strategies applied by the principal in improving graduates quality both in quality and quantity. These strategies are through the superior program owned by the school, the strategy of developing work program for principal deputies of each field (curriculum, students-realtions, public relations, and facilities), and the strategy for developing the quality of human resources, including students. The recommendations and suggestions from this research for the future is the principal can cooperate optimally with those involved in the school to be able to develop strategies, models, teachniques, methods and approaches to improve graduates quality.
