Abstract

Fishing capacity can be regarded as a total mobilized capability made byfishing fleet to produce catch. This research analyze trend and fishing capacities ofsmall pelagic fish in off west coast of South Sulawesi. There are 8 significant fishingunit operated in off west coast of South Sulawesi ; these are payang, beach seine, purse seine, drift gill net, encircling gillnet, fixed gill net, boat liftnet, fixed liftnet. Thefish production data cover 6 types of fish, i.e. Indian mackerel, anchovy, sardines, scads, and trevally caught by 8 types fishing unit. Annual fishing effort and CPUEover a period of 30 years (1977-2006) were calculated after a standardizationconsidering variability in capture capability and fisheries development. Analysis wasconducted for identifyng CPUE trend and fishing capacities of small pelagic fish using Peak to Peak Analysis. The study area was divided into three regions, i.e, aroundSpermonde Island (zone A), off Polman and Pinrang district (zone B) and off Majenedan Mamuju district (zone C). CPUE trend in three water zone showed to decreasefor 30 year of period, where decreasing CPUE trend at zone C was higher than otherzones. Fishing capacities in zone A need to be reduced of fishing effort for 6%, whereas in zone B was 5% and zone C was 11%.

Abstract

In determining the estimated volume flow, required an appropriate model toestimate the value of the volume flow of a watershed. It has been a decline in the carrying capacity of the Sub Watershed of Riam Kanan as the catchment area due to critical land cover. This study aims to estimate the flow of volume and its distribution in the Riam Kanan Watershed based on data Landsat7 ETM + Satellite Imagery. The results yield a regression equation Qp = 0.007p + 56.85 regression rate of 89.6%, indicating that land cover can lead directly to changes in flow volume in the sub watershed of Riam Kanan By using the data flow volume recorded on board thought the water reservoir (DMA) and data rains cause, the lowest flow volume data obtained in the lowest in Rantau Balai amount of 2.14 m3/sec and the highest in the Rantau Bujur amount of 17.65 m3/sec. As for the areas Bunglai, Tiwingan, Kalaan and Belangian have moderate flow volume ranged from 2.16 m3/sec - 6.59 m3/sec.

Abstract

Bioremediation-Bacillus sp. probiotics with the composition of the beneficial bacteria, as well as working synergistically on aquaculture and environment in the host gastrointestinal tract. In addition, it can improve the quality of the environment can also increase the activity of digestive enzymes shrimp. Ultimately lead to increased growth and minimize the risk of disease of shrimp. The purpose of this study to determine the optimum concentration of applications Bioremediation-Bacillussp. probiotics vannamei shrimp culture in the media. The study was designed in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment concentration of bioremediation-Bacillus sp. probiotics the control (without probiotic), 0.5; 1.0, 1.5 ppmper week, with three replications each. During the study, the test shrimp rearing in glass aquaria with a capacity of 30 L with a density of 4 fish / L and fed the form of powder with 52% protein content as much as 70-100% of total biomass. Watermedium used ± 30 ppt salinity as much as 25 L. The results showed improvement of environmental quality cultivation occurs in the probiotic treatment applications, particularly ammonia levels lower than controls. Digestive enzyme levels of Į-amylase and protease also increased significantly compared to controls. This condition which cause the vannamei shrimp survival and growth were receiving higher than controls of probiotic treatment, while various concentrations of probiotic did not produce differences in response. Application of Bioremediation-Bacillus sp.probiotics can be concluded with a concentration of 0.5 ppm per week in culturemedia can improve the quality of the environment cultivation and the activity ofdigestive enzymes Į-amylase and protease, thus increasing the survival and growthof vannamei shrimp.

Abstract

This research was aimed a finding the part of Piper betle Linn which had thebiggest resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria and to know the minimal concentrate which could obstruct the growth of A. hydrophila bacteria and to know effective concentrate toxicity of P. betle Linn to Pangasius hypophthalmus. Therandom sampling used proportionate stratified random sampling. In toxicity test, it had be done 4 treatment, which was given to fish, those were : A = fish was injected with 25 % concentrate of extract P. betle Linn leaves, B = fish was injected with 75% concentrate of extract P. betle Linn leaves, C = positive control (fish was injected with sterile aquadest), and D = negative control (fish wasn’t injected) and 3 trial.Sensivity result of A. hydrophila bacteria to P. betle Linn showed that the axtract of Piper betle Linn leaves-methanol had bigger activity than others. Depended on MICtest of the leaves P. betle Linn-methanol extract showed result that the extract had25% minimal bloked concentrate to A. hydrophila bacteria. The result of toxicity testof P. betle Linn 75% and 25% leaves was no mortality 50% of P. hypophthalmus.Water quality parameter during experiment like dissolving oxygen, pH, ammonia,CO2, and temperature were still in reasonable range for Pangasius hypophthalmus.
