Abstract

Hypertension was characterized by persistently high blood pressure in the systemic arteries.  This typed of researched was descriptive retrospective with consecutive sampling used inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis used the Skewness and Kurtosis Normality Test and Chi Square Test with p<0,05.  The results of the studied showed that 42 people was found with a population percentage of 67,7% who was known to had hyperuricemia with hypertension. There was a significant relationship between the incidence of hyperuricemia and the incidence of hypertension with a valued of p=0,003 (p<0,05).  The odds ratio (OR) valued in this study was 8,17, meaning that patients with hyperuricemia had an 8,17 times greater chance of suffering from hypertension compared to patients without hyperuricemia. It was recommended that further research use case control studies or cohort studies to find out which variables are the cause and effect between hyperuricemia and hypertension.

Abstract

Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), containing glycerol or subjected to hydrolysis, constitutes approximately 90-99% of the oil, primarily consisting of monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), with oleic acid comprising up to 80% of the total oil. This study aims to examine the influence of oleic acid in olive oil on reducing systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The intervention spanned 15 days, where the treatment group received EVOO, and the control group received a placebo (water), each administered twice a day at a dosage of 15 ml. Before the intervention, blood pressure was assessed with the Mann-Whitney test, while after intervention, measurements were analyzed using the Independent T-Test. Additional 15 ml Extra Virgin Olive Oil for 15 days results in significant decrease of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure compared to water only.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the comprehension skills of students in the statistics course at the Management Study Program, Universitas Islam Kadiri, Kediri. A survey method was employed to gather diverse information from 30 students in Semester III class A5 enrolled in the statistics course during the academic year 2022/2023. The research was conducted from July to November 2023, utilizing purposive sampling. Data collection involved a test comprising 10 multiple-choice questions, focusing on stages such as reading comprehension, understanding, transformation, process skills, and selecting the correct answers. Qualitative descriptive analysis was applied during and after data collection. The research findings indicate that students' comprehension skills in the statistics course fall into the high category, with 62% of students answering correctly. Common errors occurred in stages such as reading comprehension, understanding, transformation, process skills, and answer selection. Suggestions are given to students to study more diligently, actively participate in learning activities, and overcome difficulties by finding ways to make statistics materials more comprehensible. The Management Study Program is advised to pay special attention to challenging statistics topics to optimize students' learning outcomes.
