Abstract

The prevalence of heart failure in Indonesia based on a doctor's diagnosis is estimated at 1.5% or around 29,550 people. Congestive heart failure is caused by interference and blockage of blood flow in the heart so that it will cause signs and symptoms of heart failure in the systemic circulation and pulmonary circulation such as pain, shortness of breath. The problem that often occurs in patients with congestive heart failure is shortness of breath, so non-pharmacological management is needed, one of which is semi-Fowler's position. To find out the results of applying semi-Fowler's position to congestive heart failure patients. The application was carried out using a case study descriptive method to 2 respondents with a diagnosis of Congestive Heart Failure carried out 3 days for 1x a day for 15 minutes. Based on the results of the implementation that has been done, there is an increase in oxygen saturation in congestive heart failure patients by 3-4%. Giving a semi-fowler position can be used as a non-pharmacological technique or independent intervention in patients with congestive heart failure.

Abstract

Stunting toddlers is a chronic nutritional problem caused by many factors, such as socioeconomic conditions, maternal nutrition during pregnancy, illness in infants, and a lack of nutritional intake in infants. West Kalimantan has a high prevalence of stunting compared to the national prevalence of 36.5%. The purpose of this study was to determine the determinants associated with the incidence of stunting in West Kalimantan. This type of research uses a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional study design. The population is 2,064 people, and the sample in this study is 335 respondents by random sampling. The statistical test used was chi-squared with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that there was no relationship between PMT (p-value of 1.000), history of breastfeeding (p-value of 0.052), history of immunization (p-value of 0.640), history of infection (p-value of 0.474), and access to health services with stunting events (p-value of 0.902) in West Kalimantan. Suggestions for the government and health agencies: it is expected to increase awareness, dissemination, and information to the public regarding incomplete immunization history with a risk factor of 1.704 and a history of non-exclusive breastfeeding with a 1.326 times greater risk of influencing stunting.

Abstract

Sectio caesarea is a surgical procedure to deliver a fetus by opening the abdominal wall and uterus. In Indonesia, the birth rate using the caesarean section method is quite high, reaching 17.6%. Childbirth with Sectio Caesaria will cause the mother to feel discomfort, one of which is pain originating from the abdominal incision. One of the treatments is using non-pharmacological techniques, namely the finger grip relaxation technique to reduce the level of pain in Post Sectio Caesarea patients. Providing finger-hold relaxation techniques can have a relaxing effect on the body and mind, naturally resulting in the release of endorphin hormones, these hormones are natural analgesics or painkillers from within the body which can reduce the intensity or scale of pain. To determine the results of applying the finger grip relaxation technique to reduce pain in post sectio Caesarea patients in the Adas Manis Room at Pandan Arang Hospital, Boyolali. This research is descriptive research using a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 2 respondents who were post sectio caesarea patients, the application was carried out for 3 days with a frequency of application once a day within 15 minutes. Based on the results of the application after being given the finger grip relaxation technique once a day for 3 days, there was a decrease in the pain scale from a moderate pain scale to a mild pain scale. The finger grip relaxation technique can be used as an effective non-pharmacological technique to reduce pain in Post Sectio Caesarea patients.

Sectio Caesarea (SC) delivery is a surgical process to deliver the fetus through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterine wall. Caesarean section delivery is a surgical procedure that can cause pain. Pain during caesarean section will cause unpleasant feelings. Treatment that is often used to reduce pain after caesarean section is by providing pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. Pharmacological measures, such as administering analgesics, are able to control pain, both moderate pain and severe pain and one of the non-pharmacological treatments to reduce the intensity of the stomach in post-caesarean section patients is by administering lavender aromatherapy to reduce the intensity of pain. The aim of this study was to determine the results of applying lavender aromatherapy to pain intensity in post caesarean section patients in the Adas Manis Room, Pandan Arang Hospital, Boyolali. This research is descriptive research using a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 2 post caesarean section patients. The application of lavender aroma therapy in this study was carried out in accordance with the SOP for lavender aroma therapy, the application was carried out for 3 days with a frequency of application once a day within 10 minutes. The instrument for measuring pain intensity uses the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). After being given lavender aromatherapy once a day for 3 days, there was a decrease in the pain scale from moderate pain scale to mild pain scale in both respondents. Lavender aromatherapy can be used as a non-pharmacological technique or independent intervention to reduce pain intensity in post-cesarean section patients.

Abstract

Public Health Centre facilities are integral to the healthcare system, playing a vital role in safeguarding public health at the primary level. These facilities, beyond delivering medical services, generate substantial quantities of medical waste due to various healthcare procedures. The management of medical waste in these centers presents challenges, notably the need for interim storage before third-party collection. Additionally, monthly solid medical waste transportation from all District health centers poses concerns about potential waste accumulation. This study falls into the category of descriptive research, aiming to provide an illustrative snapshot of current solid medical waste management. A survey at Public Health Centre X found that each polyclinic produces an average of 0.49 kg of solid medical waste daily, totaling 76.4 kg per month. Notably, all samples during packaging, transportation, and storage phases failed to meet specified criteria. Similarly, during sorting, the majority (83%) did not meet standards, with only one sample (16.3%) complying. This underscores the pressing need for staff training in medical waste procedures. To elevate medical waste management standards, health centers must integrate policies and regulations into their daily operations. Additionally, improving current facilities, infrastructure, and procedures is paramount to address this issue effectively. In conclusion, Public Health Centre facilities, vital for primary healthcare, grapple with medical waste management challenges. This study underscores the importance of immediate action in staff training and policy integration while investing in facility enhancements to achieve optimal medical waste management.
