TOBA (Journal of Tourism, Hospitality, and Destination) merupakan wadah publikasi naskah ilmiah dengan tema utama berkaitan dengan tourism, hospitality and destination yang diterbitkan 4 (empat) kali dalam setahun, yaitu pada bulan Februari, Mei, Agustus dan November. Naskah yang dipublikasikan merupakan hasil temuan, penelitian, rekomendasi, praktik lapangan, maupun sharing pengalaman dari akademisi, mahasiswa, praktisi dan stakeholder lainnya untuk kemajuan kepariwisataan Indonesia. Abstract

The stories that traditional societies believe in that have developed and spread over the generations have given birth to the concept of collective memory and belief. These memories and beliefs manifest into myths. In many traditions of indonesian society, myth is born from mite, a story that involves the supernatural power, namely the power of the Gods. In Sundanese culture, mites often tell the story of the Gods who descended to earth with a certain mission. This study discusses the Sanghyang Kenit mite which used to be considered a sacred story. Mite Sanghyang Kenit is discussed in a dual perspective, namely as a story of the past and as a cultural artifact that manifests as a tourist destination. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative with the object of the story as data. In addition, SWOT matrices (strenghts); (weaknesses); (opportunities); and (threats) are used to analyze Sanghyang Kenit as a tourist destination in terms of uniqueness, authenticity, and scarcity. The results showed that Sanghyang Kenit mite can be a natural tourist attraction in Rajamandala Kulon village, West Bandung regency, namely by proving the existence of continuity between mites and potential tourist attractions.

Abstract

Wisata Jawa Timur Park (JTP-3)  adalah wisata edukasi pertama di Indonesia dalam menyajikan ratusan patung lilin dari para tokoh dan artis dunia dan replika tempat favorit dari berbagai Negara. Lokasi JTP-3 di Jl. Ir. Soekarno No.144, Junrejo, Batu, Jawa Timur. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan analisis Strengths-Weaknesses-Opportunities-Threats (SWOT) dengan tahapan yaitu Internal Factor Evaluation Matrix (Matrik IFE), Eksternal Faktor Evaluation Matrix (Matrik EFE), Internal and external Matrix (Matrik IE), dan Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (Matrik QSPM). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa posisi JTP-3 berada pada kuadran I yaitu posisi yang sangat menguntungkan. JTP-3 memiliki peluang dan kekuatan sehingga dapat memanfaatkan peluang yang ada. Strategi yang harus diterapkan adalah mendukung kebijakan pertumbuhan yang agresif (growth oriented strategy). Peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan untuk menerapan manajemen pengetahuan yang difokuskan pada peningkatan kompetensi per individu sehingga jika terjadi pengurangan pegawai tidak akan menjadi masalah. Untuk meningkatkan perekonomian dan kesejahteraan masyarakat, diperlukan komitmen bersama seluruh pemangku kepentingan dan masyarakat untuk dapat memperoleh manfaat secara optimal melalui pendekatan ilmiah, sosial, politik, ekologi dan ekonomi.

Abstract

Tourism has an important role in building the Indonesian economy, where the improvement of the country's economy will be able to introduce a sense of love for the homeland and introduce the arts, culture, nation and natural beauty of Indonesia. The purpose of the study was to determine and describe the increasing interest of domestic tourists towards tourist destinations in Boalemo Regency. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews and documentation. So the data analysis technique used is Miles and Hubberman conducted by interviews, documentation and other research instruments. The results of the research and discussion are 1) Services are very important which must be improved by the Tourism Office and tourism managers. By fulfilling expectations that can increase and give more attention to existing visitors. 2) Facilities are very important considering that they greatly affect tourist visits to existing tourist destinations. Such as the needs of sellers or other supporting facilities. 3) The environment is very important to pay attention to because the environment greatly influences the interest of local tourists to visit local tourist destinations in Boalemo Regency. 4) Security and comfort affect the interest of tourist visits because they will affect the conditions and comfort of tourism at tourist sites

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of tourist attraction and service facilities on tourist satisfaction in Pamah View tourism, Langkat district. The population in this study were all people who came to travel to Pamah View, Langkat district. In this study, data were collected through a questionnaire method for 95 respondents who were obtained using random sampling technique. The type of data in this study is quantitative data analysis, quantitative analysis includes validity and reliability tests, classical assumption test, hypothesis testing through F test and t test and analysis of the coefficient of determination (R2). The data analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis using the SPSS Version 21 application. The results show that Attractiveness (X1) and Service Facilities (X2) simultaneously significantly influence tourist satisfaction in Pamah View tourism, Langkat district. Therefore, it is necessary to renew the form of tourism so that it has an attraction for tourists and also improves service facilities must be packaged and run properly in increasing tourist satisfaction in Pamah View tourism, Langkat district.

Abstract

The tourism development of Bantul Regency is planned based on the Bantul Regency Regional Regulation Number 11 of 2020 concerning Amendments to the Bantul Regency's Regional Regulation Number 18 of 2015 concerning the 2015-2025 Regional Tourism Development Master Plan. The rapid development of tourism in the South Coast Region of Bantul Regency is certainly very helpful in increasing regional original income and can also improve the community's economy. One of the important things in tourism development and development is the management system of a tourism destination. Based on the Regional Regulation of Bantul Regency Number 18 of 2015 concerning the Master Plan of Regional Tourism Development for 2015-2025, Bantul Regency has 5 (five) Regional Tourism Destinations (DPD), one of which is DPD Segoro Kidul which has tourism potential that can be developed. With this potential, there must be good management so that the existing tourist attraction components can be used as tourism support. Components of tourist attraction and management of tourist attractions by using the concept of a tourist attraction component (4A) which includes attraction (tourist attractions), accessibilities (access), aminities (facilities), and ancillary service (institutional). The method used in this study uses a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by direct interviews, observation, and documentation. Identification of the management of tourist destinations in DPD Segoro Kidul with three stages, namely reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that component 4A has been realized in this area to be used as tourism products and supporting facilities in tourism processing in DPD Segoro Kidul. Coastal tourism destinations are still the leading product in this area, accessibility and amenities are also one of the factors that affect connectivity between tourism destinations, and stakeholder involvement is still an important actor in the management of a tourist destination

Abstract

Tour guides are one of the key players in the tourism industry as intermediaries between travel agents and tourists. They have a responsibility to explain the culture and all information involving the destination. This research aims to study the service quality of tour guides on tourist satisfaction. Empirical data were gathered from a large-scale online survey with 58 national and international tourists from Malaysia and Indonesia. The result shows that tour guides’ service quality has a positive relationship with tourist satisfaction

Abstract

Tawangmangu as a tourist destination still has an attraction for local tourists. The diversity of tourist objects, uniqueness, good image and quality of service are important factors that encourage tourists to come to Tawangmangu. The result of the X1 (demographic segment) value is 0.889, X2 (psychographic segment) is 1.614, X3 (behavioral segment) is 6.789, while the tt value in this study is 1.897. It can be said that the behavioral segment in the form of benefits that are used by sensations can be a place to relieve fatigue (healing) on holidays at affordable prices, the level of visitor loyalty is very significant because of the sample profile visiting> 3 visits to the Tawangmanggu Destination, then the independent variable (demographic segment) , psychographic segment, behavioral segment) together contributed to the dependent variable (the decision to visit Tawangmanggu) by 43.9% and the remaining 56.1% was influenced by other variables not included in this study. The other variables are probably the variables contained in the marketing mix related to promotion, price, and other variables in the elements of tourism activities, namely: something to see, something to do, something to buy. Tourists who come are dominated by productive tourists, junior high / high school education, diverse jobs, middle to upper income, and visiting destinations for recreation, enjoying various regional crowds, culinary and enjoying the unique scenery of Tawangmangu with family. Tourists generally have high loyalty as visitors. Geographical factors in the form of cold temperatures, accessibility and facilities significantly influence the decision to visit

Abstract

This study aims to explain the EFFECT OF “COLORFUL MEDAN” BRANDING AND MICE EVENTS ON INTEREST TO VISIT THE CITY OF MEDAN. This type of research uses explanatory research, and data is obtained from distributing questionnaires to 106 domestic tourists who travel to MICE events in Medan City. This study uses descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results showed that the Colorful Medan branding variable and the MICE event had a direct effect on the interest of tourists to visit again. Based on the results of the study, it is better for the Medan City Government and MICE industry players to work together in maintaining and socializing Medan's colorful branding by increasing the promotion of all types of objects and tourist attractions in Medan City. This research is limited to the variables of city branding, MICE events and intention to visit again. Hopefully, through this research, MICE branding and tourism in Medan City can be further developed to the fullest.Keywords: City Branding, MICE Event, Interest to Visit Again.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan slang bahasa inggris di lingkungan kampus Universitas Imelda Medan. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah mahasiwa S1 Prodi Pariwisata semester dua Universitas Imelda Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik simak bebas libat cakap dan teknik catat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam penggunaan slang bahasa inggris pada mahasiswa S1 Prodi Pariwisata terdapat empat bentuk penggunaan bahasa slang dalam bahasa inggris , yaitu singkatan, salah ucap yang lucu, bentuk-bentuk yang dipendekkan, dan interjeksi yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa tersebut dalam percakapan mereka. Penggunaan bahasa slang tersebut lebih dominan dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menciptakan suasana santai dan kesan akrab dalam pergaulan mereka.

Abstract

Abstract The tourism destination in Bandung city is aimed inclusively at all groups of tourists, but in practice, there is limited accessibility experienced by tourists with disabilities which results in reduced ease, security, and comfort in conducting tourist activities in Bandung city. On this basis, this study aims to explain the problem of accessibility for tourists with disabilities in Bandung city and what solutions are offered to overcome these problems. The research method used is the descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. The results revealed that the tourist area in Bandung city can not be said to be accessible for tourists with disabilities. This can be seen from the lack of existing infrastructure in the attractions area and the lack of other supporting infrastructure aimed at supporting tourism activities carried out by tourists with disabilities. Efforts should be made to realize tourism that is accessible to tourists with disabilities by realizing the shared commitment by Bandung city government and tourism management bodies to create policy instruments that clearly and detailly regulate tourism development that is accommodating to the needs of tourists with disabilities. The policy should substantively regulate the provision of tourism facilities for tourists with disabilities in Bandung city.
