Abstract

The existence of Allah and His greatness can be known through two ways; first, through the path of revelation to His Messenger, This method, for example, happened to the Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel and the concrete form is the verses of the Koran which are then referred to as verses of qauliyah. Second, through the path of thinking, pondering, and understanding phenomena that occur in the universe. From this phenomenon then humans realize that behind the beauty, features, greatness and so forth implied the existence of God Almighty, so that everything other than God can be called the universe, then this phenomenon is known as the Kauniyah verse. These two signs of God’s greatness are the theme of the study in this article, which is referred to in the Qur’an which commands many people to understand the meaning and interpretation contained in the Qur’an itself, besides calling on people to think and understand phenomena that occur in the universe which later became the interpretation of the verses of science that strengthened the existence of the Qur’an. Some circles have tried earnestly to uncover the scientific cues contained in the verses of kauniyah through their interpretations. However, the existence of scientific interpretations still reap the pros and cons among interpreters, so that some can accept it as a new development in the progress of interpretation of the Qur’an and some others still reject it with various arguments.

Abstract

This artilce elaborates the meaning of millah Ibrahim, which is, the Sh ar i’a(law) that has been revealed by the Allmighty to the Prophet Ibrahim, then, to be taught to His companions (ummah) and to be hold fast by His offsprings. the Ibrahim tawheedteaching is the meaning of millah Ibrahimthat has been mentioned in the Qur’an, so that all the samawireligions have the same basic teaching, called tawheed, however each of their prophets teach a different Shar i’a(law) between one and another. Such thing is reasonable, for each prophet is sent in different time, and the Sh ar i’ashould be adjusted according the condition of its ummah. It is no wonder wether the followers among the samawireligions conduct different religious activities one another. But, it can be confirmed that there is any previous messenger teaching which is still available for the recent time. From this, inevitability appears that in some Islamic legal system (Sh ar i’a/law) consists of previous one, which in this case is millah Ibrahim.

Abstract

Conclution of the research states that ecopedagogy is a public educational movements of human responsibility in environmental conservation. It’s conducted by combining all environmental conservation paradigms, analyzing its deficiency and advantages, thus, associating it with Qur’anic environmental themes. Some of the paradigms is analyzed in the effort to increase ecological concern are: anthropocentric, biocentric, ecocentric, zoocentric, ecophenomenology, androcentric, conservation and ecofeminism. These paradigms all get reinforced arguments from the Qur’an which outline that all living things and all their phonemes have relations with each other and need to be made in such harmony. But the Qur’an also emphasizes the other side that must be considered as a form of environmental balance and ethics. So by using the ecopedagogy method that combines eight methods in nature conservation, the best public education method has been carried out in order to embody nature conservation. The methodology used in this study is a qualitative method that is integrated with the thematic method (mawdhu’î), while the data used in this study were obtained through library research with three stages of research, namely the stages of description, comparison and analysis, which ultimately obtained conclusions in accordance with the formulation and research objectives.

Abstract

This article discusses the study of Human Rights discourse on all kinds of physical and psychological violence resulting from gender bias practices towards the role and position of women in a family that is legally not allowed based on the international declaration on Human Rights, because the violation ignores the basic rights of individuals. Domestic violence, as one of the examples of gender bias, is legally banned due to subordination, marginalization and stereotype against men or women in the context of domestic (household) contexts. Therefore, the division of gender roles refers to the rights and obligations of husbands under the normative religious doctrine and intolerant socio-cultural understanding can be categorized as violating human rights law. In the Islamic sense of Human Rights it is actually whether new or foreign, because the discourse about human rights in Islamic advancement is earlier compared to other concepts or teachings, thus Islam comes inherently bringing the teaching of human rights. Islamic teachings on human rights can be found in the main sources of Islamic teachings i.e., al-Qur’an and Hadith which are the source of normative teachings, also found in the practice of the life of Muslims.

Abstract

Toni John as quoted by Federspiel in the introduction of the Popular Indonesian Literature The Qur’anbook states that Indonesian Islamic Thought since the 16th century was very great and produced many articles about Traditional Islamic Sciences. Hamzah Fansuri, Ar-Raniri and Syamsudin from Pasai were important scientists at that time, the latest works written by Ar-Raniri had expanded beyond Southeast Asia. This scientific culture was then followed by his students and generations after him to this day. In terms of its writing method, the interpretation of the Koran written by Indonesian Muslim intellectuals varies. Diversity can be seen in terms of language, letter usage, language style and writing method. The variety of languages used is Dutch, Arabic, Javanese, Malay-Jawi and Indonesian. The diversity of letters is seen from the use of Malay and Latin Arabic letters. In terms of methods, some use the tahliliy (analytical) method, maudhu’i (thematic) or a combination of both. This article discusses the study of various types of interpretive research in Indonesia that do not yet fully have connections on many sides. The author views that the type of interpretation in Indonesia can be divided into two forms of classification. First, in terms of writing interpretations which are classified into two things, namely using scientific and non-scientific writing standards. Second, in terms of interpretation research, which is divided into three research models, namely: Descriptive, explorative and developmental.

This paper discusses the techniques of interpretation in interpretation. In general the technique of interpretation can be divided into various types. First, textual interpretation techniques that refer to the meanings found in the Qur’an and al-Sunnah, sayings (qaul) of friends and tabiin. Second, linguistic interpretation techniques are traced through Arabic speech and dialect as the language of the Qur’an, both in talaqqi (face to face) and non-talaqqi (by way of learning linguistics and Arabic dictionaries). Third, the technique of systematic interpretation, which is done by determining a theme collected from the verses contained in the Qur’an. This method is known as the maudhu’i technique which is systemic and directed. Fourth, the technique of socio-historical interpretation, stressing techniques methodology in the historical detail revealed the Qur’an which relates to cultural, social, and historical language from revelations revealed to the Arabs as a social object.

Abstract

This article criticizes Masdar Faried Masudi’s viewed that the implementation of the pilgrimage should not be done only once, ie 9 to 13 Dzulhijjah, but can be implemented for several times within a three-month span. The view is based on the many difficulties (masyaqqah) and several tragedies that occur during the Haj season because Muslims around the world run wukuf and throw jumrah at the same time and time. The argument proposed by Masdar is the timing of the three-month pilgrimage time and the coincidence of the implementation of the pilgrimage of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) which coincided with the 9th Dzulhijjah. After the author conducted an analysis of the hadiths of the Prophet about the pilgrimage, the Prophet’s statement that Hajj was the Arafah, not a coincidence but was one of the provision of Hajj, so that anyone who performs Hajj must be present at Arafah, otherwise the Haj is not valid. Attendance on Arafah also became consessus of agreement among the scholars. Second, the three-month period is indeed an area of ijtihad. Meanwhile the views of the scholars on the specificity of the Hajj on September 9-13, in addition to the direct practice of the Prophet, are also the takhsis (specifity) of the context of the pilgrimage towards the general perspective of Qur’an, thus having a reasoned consideration rational and theological that become stronger than just a scholar’s ijtihad (independent exertion of jurist in finding solutions)

Abstract

Many talks on the interpretation of chapter al-Maidah verse 51 have seized the writer’s attention to rethink the meaning of the language and the context of the verse. In this article the author tries to see the textual, contextual meaning, taking into account its historical socio-psychological elements to be brought into the thematic interpretation, so that the meaning is neutral and universal. It is because the concept of leadership must combine the values of trasendental and humanist, thus opening a new paradigm of contextual understanding of sentences that can color the monotheistic vision as a peaceful Islamic face, which upholds humanist values, which see man as a creed of rahmatan lil alamin. In the constitutional review of the chapter al-Maidah verse 51, the writer sees no relation to the verse with the principal, but the psycho-social history approach implies the necessity of ethics for a leader who must have the nature of trust, to be fair and obedient to religion. So the success of a leader is not only on the side of his leadership, but how much of a good influence it can give to society and its environment.

Abstract

This article questions about the modern interpretation approach, namely interpretation. Among the interpretations commonly used in the interpretation of the Koran are textual interpretations, linguistic interpretations, systematic interpretations, socio-historical interpretations, theological interpretations, cultural interpretations, and logical interpretations. All of these interpretation techniques differ from interpretation methodology tools in the form of methods and approaches. Interpretation places more emphasis on the interpretation process through the method of analysis and interpretation of the data which is based on interpretation. This article also describes as much detail as possible about 3 interpretations, namely theological, cultural, and logical interpretations as a design of modern interpretations that refer to scientific research methods. This proves that, the activity of interpreting the Koran is an activity that is scientifically and empirically accountable like applied sciences that require scientific reasoning.

Abstract

There are many verses that seemed to be unidirectional within Al-Quran which have implications for varied understanding and tend to be contradictory. An example is a verse about the creation of nature about the duration of “day”. But with the understanding of the verse, to get the meaning of the verse it is necessary to have a particular approach in understanding it, namely by linguistic approaching. A linguistic approach can be carried out if an uneven analysis of verses with other verses in one or the same letter is not possible. So, if it is still possible to find a verse that is correlated with that verse, then a linguistic approach is not needed. Basically a language approach in the study of interpretation, only one of several approaches, each of which has advantages or disadvantages.
