Abstract

The socio-economic background of the Mecca period in the Qur'an influenced the attitudes, thoughts, and souls of Arab society at that time. The function of property as a basis for horizontal action is applied in various ways and purposes. This article concludes that worldly-oriented wealth can cause people's minds and souls to lose their minds and morals. Excessive attitude towards wealth accompanied by worries of poverty can affect the attitude of ignoring other people and even God. The Qur'an describes the previous people who were destroyed in their morals because the function of property was not used properly. Assets can be used for macroeconomic management in solving crises and for the benefit of community welfare in the Mecca period.

Abstract

This study concludes that overcoming corruption with a non-theological conventional approach is deadlocked, which is caused by a moral crisis, identity, and social situation, and group propaganda that prioritizes corruption prevention strategies with an approach to improving legislation rather than theological approach. The conventional, non-theological approach has so far turned out to be ineffective, because it is only superficial (saṭḥiyyun wa ẓāhiriyyun), not a deep solution, that is, a solution that reaches deep into the substance of the problem, namely theological or religious approach. The perspective of the Qur'an in dealing with corruption is found through three strategies, namely: detective, preventive, and repressive. Detective and preventive strategies are pursued in three ways: strengthening faith, strengthening the heart, and strengthening morality. Meanwhile, the repressive strategy is pursued in four ways: strengthening supervisory institutions (al-ḥisbah), strengthening juridical law and the judiciary, strengthening communities, and strengthening aspects of religiosity. Meanwhile, the detective, preventive, and repressive strategies as a whole are taken through strengthening theological values. The method used in this study is a qualitative method, based on library research, verses of the Qur'an, publications in the form of research results, journals, seminars, and articles. While the interpretation method used is the thematic interpretation method (tafsīr mawḍū’ī), both when analyzing problems from a theological point of view and when using verses of the Qur'an

Abstract

The importance of reintroducing the holy book of the Qur'an to the public, especially among academics who are engaged in the field of the Qur'an. This paper provides important information regarding the explanation of the Qur'an about itself, so that it is hoped that with this description you can get to know the Qur'an closer and more intimately. The method used in writing this journal refers to the provisions of the thematic interpretation method, which is trying to collect verses containing the vocabulary of the Qur'an and trying to reveal the messages it contains. The goal is that Muslims can understand well the content of the verses of the Qur'an which contain information about the Qur'an itself. Allegedly while there are still many Muslims who do not know the Qur'an comprehensively in general, only among academics who are engaged in the field of the Qur'an, who may already know it, but in general there are still many who do not know. It is very important to dig out the names of the Qur'ān bi al-Qur'ān (the names of the Qur'an with the Qur'an).

Abstract

This article will explain the development of the style of interpretation of the Koran from the classical period to the modern period. The authors use the literature research model (literature study) by reading books on interpretations from scholars and commentaries of scholars. Broadly speaking, the Classical period has many agreed-upon models of interpretation based on tradition and many uses of Islamic sources also support the linguistic aspect. While in the modern period emerged against the Old traditions ranging from the use of israiliyat tradition, the authority of the prophet, linguistic to the combination of the tradition of Western positivism thinking that illustrates various interpretations in the modern period with the exchange of mystical concepts and primitive concepts, also helped realize the discussions that support religion drocal.

Abstract

Mulla Sadra's cosmological philosophy combined with the Qur'an which is rich in spiritual values ​​can be used as a basis for building a new environmental ethic. Some of the basic principles of Mulla adrā's cosmological philosophy include: first, everything that exists, including Allah and His creation, has various hierarchies and strata of existence, which have basic and important similarities. God and His creation have an indivisible unity. Being (creation) is absolutely dependent on its Creator. Second, just as the universe with all its levels is a sign (āyah) for Allah Ta'ala, so is the Qur'an. The universe is a Big Book (Kitab Takwini), while the Qur'an is a Small Book (Kitab Tadwini). Third, as God's most perfect creation, humans have a central position and role in the hierarchy of levels of nature's existence, namely giving meaning to the reality of that existence. As the caliph of Allah, humans must do their best to maintain the balance of nature and interact fairly/correctly with other creatures (majud-majud).

Abstract

Nusantara, since long time ago, has not only an overwhelming narutal resources, but also a high class human resources. Many Indonesian muslim scholars has an important role in the Arabian penninsula. They were well-known not only by their activities but also written relics. Their bodies must have been buried, but their work has always been read untill now. One the monumental work is in a kind of Tafsir in the begining of 17 century, many Tafsir literatures were started to come out written by Indonesian muslims scholars just like Faidh ar-Rahman by Kiyai Soleh Darat that tended to more brave in making a breakthrough which never exist before. It was an effort to translate the Qur’an into any language other than Arabic, in this case, translating it into Indonesian by using latin language. In muslims point of view, it was an unlawful / bid’ah activity, for Qur’anic translation effort was usually translated in to local languages using Arabic letter, called Pegon. His bravery certainly based on qualified background and transmission of knowledge. This article tries to prove the sanad pathway tracked from many sources and it certainly about the contextality of Faid al-Rahman with the condition of Javanese community at that time

Abstract

Nusantara Tafsir is a must be maintained treasures, as always. It’s source of historical record of the country. Tafsir al-Azhar is one of the most important literatures from Nusantara scholars’ works that should be put into an analytical studies in order to gain its meaningful values. This research explains background, style, Hamka biography and some related isues of the tafsir. This article uses critical-descriptive approach which concludes that besides so many locality found in statement, event, example, and so on; melayu language is dominantly used in this Tafsir; more ever, modern sufism is quite a lot there in, so that its interpretation is in humanity style (adabi ijtima’i). What Hamka has interpreted, out of what has been mention above, is a problem solver to his society, so it seem to be a life event or live history at that time and after.

Abstract

Qur’anic social ethic studies with a thematic exegesis approach (maudu’i) toward Surah An-Nahl/ 16: 90 seen as containing a complete social ethic. It consists of three aspects: al-‘Adl(justice), al-Ihsan (freferable), and itta’izil qurba (giving charity to family member). These are a obligation that must be applied in human social life. In the contrary, there are three prohibition: al-fahsya’ (heinous act), al-munkar (bad deed), and al-baghyu (unjust act). In its actualization and application, the three social ethics in many aspects emphasizes the principle of human equality brotherhood, knowing and helping each other. Moreever, social ethic character is the Qur’an which involves belief and dimension of worldly life and hereafter, it needs community life involvement in order to applies sence of togetherness, solidarity, and reduces social inequality and stratification.

Abstract

This paper explains two things. Firts, understanding about hermeneutics as a Qur’anic textual commentary method. Second, the usage of heurmenetics method by Muhammad al-Ghazali. Descriptive alalysis and library research method used in this paper. It can not be denied that hermeneutics often used by contemporary Islamic shcolars for it contains novelty in order that the Qur’an can easly be understand and has a response to the times. In his commentary, Muhammad al-Ghazali emphasizes messege understanding of Qur’anic verses in accordance to the time of sending down on one side and understanding of asbab al-nuzul as a background that can be attracted to recent reality. Al-Ghazali also empasizes original Qur’anic word and sentence understanding and the growth of social humanities science utilization. Both are al-Ghazali typical tought.

Abstract

The era of globalization which is expected to be the era of the formation of a community of ”groups”, apparently leaves many problems, including: First, the clash of civilizations between large human groups. Secondly, it creates uneven competition between large groups and small groups. Facing this reality, Muslims are required to be moderate. The question is how is the concept of moderation in accordance with the values of the Qur’an? Using a thematic interpretation method, this paper concludes that Muslim moderation must be able to integrate two different patterns of relationships; pattern of relationship with God and pattern of relationship with humans. Moderate cannot be interpreted as a hard attitude, or a very free understanding without limits. A true moderate attitude is able to bring about world peace, without violence and the goodness of the afterlife.
