Abstract

Violence and terrorism that occurred in various countries both in the West and in the East, especially Indonesia is widely claimed as a form of resistance to the West. Unfortunately this action is mostly done by a number of Muslims and understand the act as a manifestation of jihad. These acts of violence often appear sporadically that casualties are not only the target of action, but sometimes civilians and Muslims, not only in political, economic and thought but also in the fundamental aspect of the crisis of self-understanding. This can be seen from the concept of jihad sometimes understood as the concept of war (qital) solely against the disbelievers. Whereas the meaning of war is only one of the special meanings of jihad that is used in a limited way beyond the universal meanings that are universal. From the search for qital and elaboration verses of relevant studies it is known that war in the Qur’an is a form of defensive effort to defend and defend against aggression, eliminate slander and freedom of religion and to free the oppressed people of the persecution. Despite limited availability, war is a test of faith as jihad in general which must always be in the corridor fi sabilillah.

Abstract

The interpretation of verses on gender and feminism in the Koran can be contextualized in accordance with the Koran’s ethical values. but in practice there are several gender approaches in the study of the Koran, thus Muslims tend to see feminism as something that comes from outside that must be responded to. In this case there are 3 groups; Anti-Feminism, arguing that the system of relations between men and women in society is in accordance with the teachings of Islam. Gender and feminism come from the west and are expected to damage the standard Islamic teachings.Pro feminism, which argued that women in general were in a discriminatory patriarchal society system that needs to be reconstructed. All teachings of feminism are congenial with Islamic values. The West is seen as a symbol of progress (modernity), so what comes from the west is considered good. The three groups that Accepting and Rejecting Selectively, this group tent objectify certain matters as what comes from the was can not be considered bad by default, so good things need to be taken. Even gender and feminism have experienced a plurality of streams, so that what is congenial with Islam is accepted and contrary with Islam is rejected. Therefore, it is necessary to reform the interpretation about gender relations that are textual and can be more contextual and harmonious with the ideal values of the holy Koran that are just, egalitarian, and humane.

Abstract

This article discusses the development of writing academic interpretations at PTKIN, specifically the interpretation dissertation written at the Postgraduate School of Syarif Hidayatullah UIN and Sunan Kalijaga UIN Postgraduate Program, using the sociology of knowledge approach. The results of this study indicate that the development of academic interpretations at PTKIN shows a significant increase in symptoms along with the changing social order of contemporary society with all forms of complexity and following the dynamics of the development of contemporary science, both in the East and in the West. Regarding social reality, academic interpretation seeks to find solutions to various social problems that occur in the community. This generally shows a shift in the paradigm of interpretation from normative to emancipatory. Regarding the reality of the development of contemporary science, academic interpretation seems responsive and dialectical. This shows an attitude of openness to the dynamics of the development of contemporary science. Overall, it can be concluded that the academic interpretation in PTKIN no longer revolves around the theocentric-ideological or ideological-opportunistic reasoning area, but has shifted to the anthropocentric-dialectical region.

Abstract

The phenomenon of the Qur’anic sciences has fostered the spirit of scientists to continue to explore the miraculous side of the Qur’an in all its dimensions, both from the review of biology, physics, geology, astronomy, discipline and other fields of study. new disciplines are: at-Tafsir al-Ilmy at-Tajribi. The interesting scientific study of the Qur’an is also the theme of the Qur’an and communication, about this side Sayid Qhutub (1980) once explained: “Regarding differences in languages and skin colors, differences in character ( character or character, and morality, differences in talents and potentials, then all of that is diversity (Variety/Tanawwu‘) which cannot cause discord and division, but it requires mutual cooperation towards the resurrection of all burdens and require fulfillment for all purposes “. Among the results of conclusions that can be learned through the Qur’an and communication studies are that the ways of communicating taught by the Qur’an t urned out to be diverse, both in the style of language used, also in the delivery situation, respectively. each has an ideal and proportional place. Like communication with Qaulan Ma’rufa, Qaulan Sadida, Qaulan Karima, Qaulan baligho, Qaulan Layyina, Qaulan Maysuura, and Qaulan Tsaqila. In the view of the experts the interpretation of all the expressions of these words has different dimensions of meaning and understanding between one another.

Abstract

The book of Turjuman al-Mustafidis considered as the first commentary written in full 30 Juz in Malay. Researchers who have conducted the study gave different opinions about the source of writing this book. This paper is an attempt to further trace the originality of the book Turjuman al-Mustafidand determine the position of Abdul Ra’uf Singkel and Baba Daud al-Rumi in writing. The research step that the writer did consisted of two parts. First, comparing the testimony of David al-Rumi in the colophon of the book with systematic and verse interpretation methods. Secondly, studying the position of women in the book Turjuman al-Mustafidby comparative methods using the commentary book al-Baidhawi and al-Jalalain suspected of being the source of this commentary. The result is, the writer concludes that the book Turjuman al-Mustafid is the adaptation work (explanation of the commentary) Abdul Ra’uf from the book of Tafsir al-Jalalain, while other parts of theFaidahand Qisshahare in addition to David al-Rumi.

Abstract

This article discusses the interpretation of the exegesis book of Lelenyapaneun, emphasizing regional characteristics, responding to the situation in the society and the traditional picture and the unique nature of Sunda. So the pattern of interpretation became a social literature (adabi Ijtimai), method tahlily (analysis) that combine the traditional method and the use of reason (ra'yu). As a subtitle of regional interpretation, Mohammad E. Hasim has succeeded in displaying regional sides that are in line with the needs of the people, answers to current issues and preparations for the future. Despite the localities, this interpretation can only be read by people who understand Sundanese, but from the perspective of writing, insight and contextuality of the local, this interpretation has succeeded in describing the progress of scientific treasures in pasundan.

Abstract

Interpretations and philosophies are two different types of scholarship, but when the philosophy of science is used to understand the Qur'an, it will give birth to a pattern of interpretation called falsafi tafsir. In this paper will be revealed the development of a philosophical interpretation, which begins during the Abbasid caliphate, with the movement of translating the works of Greek philosophy into Arabic. In its development the philosophical interpretation of the pros and cons, al-Ghalazi for example denies the interpretation that uses the philosophical approach, and philosophical interpretations contrary to religion. Among the mufassir who use this falsafi pattern are al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, and the Ikhwan as-Shafa. They sought to interpret the Qur'an by using philosophical theories. The efforts made by the mufassir are to reconcile between religion and philosophy.

Abstract

This article tries to present an idea of interpretation with a social approach, therefore every problem present may have the same essence, but it may also be a problem that comes then a new issue that demands for immediate response according to the religious understanding derived from the al text -Qur'an. The result is that it is necessary for a mufassir to present a text interpretation capable of addressing current and future social problems. Mufassir should know the various situations and conditions surrounding the dynamics of developing social issues, so that a mufasir (interpreter) can bring the right answer according to the needs of the times as the function of the Qur'an always has the conformity with time and place (i.e., the time of eating).

Abstract

This article talks about the interpretation of al-Ibrîz by Bisri Mustofa written in Javanese. The regional interpretation was written with the aim of being able to add to the khidmah of the author and the good deeds he did for Muslims, especially Javanese-speaking Muslims. In addition to being presented with mild, easy to digest, this interpretation provides concrete examples that occur in society, so that their contextuality is expressed through several concrete examples. Interpretation of al-Ibrîz is categorized as a normal interpretation, considering its descriptions which are mostly global in nature, although in some places a number of interpretations are found that are quite long.

Abstract

This article examines various views both sufi, theologically and philosophically about the meaning of heaven. The three views differ in defining them due to differences in scientific background among the three. After examining many views, the author finally came to the conclusion that the meaning of heaven was not only related to life in the hereafter as a reward for good for those who believe and do good deeds. In the author's view, heaven can also be interpreted as life on earth that is beautiful, safe, comfortable and peaceful as a reflection / reflection of essential heaven on the Day of Judgment. This author's conclusion arises by relating the general nature of God's love in the world (ar-Rahman) and the special nature of God's love in the hereafter (ar-Raheem).
