Abstract

Submission of diplomas and grade transcripts is an important process in the management of education in tertiary institutions. However, at the Garut Institute of Technology (ITG), the process of submitting diplomas and grade transcripts is still conventional, resulting in obstacles such as long queues and difficulty accessing students who are outside the campus. To overcome these problems, this study aims to design and develop an efficient and integrated management information system for filing new diplomas and grade transcripts. The method used in this study is the Extreme Programming (XP) method. Software development is carried out by utilizing web technology and features such as validation, submission monitoring, email notifications, and submission logs. Students can apply for diplomas and transcripts online through the platform provided, fill out the online submission form, and upload the required documents. Related units, such as BAAK, Libraries, BAK, CDC, LP3B, and Study Programs, can carry out validation and verification processes online. Students can also monitor the progress of their submissions through the monitoring feature and receive notifications via email.

Abstract

In the current era of the industrial revolution, the need for human resources is increasingly stringent for skills that are in line with the latest technological developments. As an education provider, the Garut Institute of Technology strives to provide quality education to prepare alumni to be able to compete in the world of work. To get feedback from alumni, you need a way to get that information. Tracer study is an activity carried out by educational institutions to obtain information regarding the success of the educational process carried out by alumni. Apart from that, using the tracer study data can be used as evaluation material for educational institutions to improve learning and existing services. The Garut Institute of Technology, as a private university in Garut, which graduates hundreds of students each year, has carried out tracer study activities using the existing system. Based on the results of interviews conducted, there are system limitations in terms of monitoring in the form of the distribution of alumni who are already working and require a consultation feature which aims to be able to carry out online consultations regarding careers. The aim of this research is to build a web-based tracer study and build a tracer study system so that it can monitor alumni distribution and provide career-related consultations. This research uses the Agile methodology with the Scrum framework with the stages of requirements, product backlog, sprint planning, sprint, sprint review and sprint retrospective. By using system design modeling using Unified Modeling Language (UML). The results of this research are a system that can be used to determine the distribution of alumni and to provide feedback regarding the education received.

Abstract

A sales and ordering data management application is very necessary in improving performance in a company. SKMart still applies conventional methods or uses manual methods in ledgers, which is in accordance with the results of interviews with the owner that using manual methods causes the process of managing sales and ordering data, searching for data and calculating transaction data to take quite a long time, even when data loss. The aim of this research is to design a web-based sales and ordering data management application that can make it easier for shop owners to manage data, record item data and recap each transaction. With a web-based sales and ordering data management application, it is able to make it easier for users (admins) to obtain the data needed so that the process of managing sales and ordering data that occurs at SKMart stores becomes efficient. Regarding improving this application, this research uses a methodology called RUP, the stages of which are inception, elaboration, contraction and transition. Then use Unified Modeling Language modeling. The result of this research is a web-based sales and ordering data management application, which is able to facilitate the management of information data needed by users (admins) to manage goods sales data, goods ordering data, transaction data.

Abstract

Email is one of the most common ways to communicate and exchange information inside and outside the office. The manager of the Garut Post office always holds meetings and visits outside the city so that the manager is not always in his office. At the Garut Post office there are several employees based on their level, such as permanent employees and interns. In making payroll, permanent employees do not need to communicate with the manager because it is already listed at the Garut Post office. However, interns must communicate with their manager, so this is often done by sending email messages. Based on the results of interviews conducted with the manager of the Garut Post office, according to him, messages via email are not always safe in sending personal and confidential information. According to a study, 85% of all cyber attacks that occur on companies are caused by phishing attacks via email. Phishing attacks are the most common technique used by hackers to steal sensitive information from email users. The Garut Post Office needs to have a Website-Based Application for Securing Email Messages in Images Using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and Least Significant Bit (LSB), so that it can increase the level of security and privacy in sending and receiving email messages for Interns and Managers. The methodology is the Extrime Programming (XP) methodology, to encrypt email messages using AES for security, as well as inserting the encrypted message into an image using the LSB method so that it is not visible. In addition, this research wants to integrate this technique into the website interface, test its security effectiveness, and contribute to the field of information security.

Abstract

Wedding Organizer (WO) is an event organization service provider that works directly to assist prospective brides and grooms in planning their wedding event at a predetermined time and cost. Problems that often occur include when clients or prospective brides and grooms decide on wedding packages. The package selection process often takes quite a long time because it requires in-depth discussions. Apart from that, the payment process is also a concern because currently clients can only pay via transfer by sending proof of payment, which takes time to be verified by the admin. The aim of this research is to apply payment gateway technology to a web-based wedding organizer application that can provide information about wedding package services and make orders easily and quickly. The methodology used in this research is Agile with the Scrum Framework through the stages Requirements, Product Backlog, Sprint Planning, Sprint, Sprint Review. and Sprint Retrospective. For system modeling in this research, Unified Modeling Language (UML) is used with 2 diagrams, namely Use Case Diagram and Class Diagram. The result of this research is a web-based wedding organizer application that can make payments in real time by implementing one of the payment gateways, namely Midtrans, making it easier for admins to process payment verification and also so that clients can make transactions easily and quickly.

Abstract

One of the most sought after information currently is tourist attractions in an area. In the last year, Bandung Regency has had new tourist destinations which are emerging rapidly. To manage this tourist location, Bandung district has an information system, but this system still has limitations. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a tourism information system that is more detailed and can provide convenience for the Bandung Regency Culture and Tourism Office in managing and presenting tourism information. The aim of this research is to design and build a Tourism Geographic Information System in Bandung Regency. The development methodology used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP). The result of this research is a Tourism Geographic Information System which features information on tourist destinations including ticket prices, vehicle access and routes to tourist locations. Apart from that, this system also includes information on accommodation and restaurants around tourist destinations. Thus, this Tourism Geographic Information System can be used as a reference source of information on tourist destinations, especially for tourists in Bandung Regency.

Abstract

Diseases in freshwater fish can be grouped into several types, namely diseases caused by bacteria and viruses. This greatly affects the survival of fish, deaths in large numbers result in huge losses for fish farmers because it can cause yields that are not optimal. This research aims to design a web-based expert system for freshwater fish disease diagnosis using the Forward Chaining inference method. The design method used is the Rational Unified Process (RUP). This expert system aims to diagnose freshwater fish diseases. This expert system was developed by involving knowledge from fish experts and a knowledge base that includes freshwater fish symptoms and diseases. The result of this research is a web-based application that uses the Forward Chaining inference method to determine freshwater fish diseases based on the input symptoms. This application involves designing use case diagrams, class diagrams, activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, menu structures and interfaces. Alpha testing has resulted in an accurate system for producing drug administration recommendations based on a knowledge base that has been defined by fish experts. This research concludes that the use of the Forward Chaining inference method in an expert system for diagnosing freshwater fish diseases provides efficient and accurate results in providing recommendations for drug administration. With the existence of an expert system for diagnosing freshwater fish diseases that involves knowledge base sources from fish experts, fish farmers can be more effective in dealing with the symptoms and diseases suffered by fish. This is expected to support a sustainable increase in crop yields.

Abstract

As an information technology-based tertiary institution, STIKOM Uyelindo Kupang in carrying out all its business processes has implemented various information systems, including the process of admitting new students. In accordance with the standards for the new student admission process, prospective new students must be selected based on the results of academic ability tests. The test is carried out by utilizing an information system to simplify the selection process. This system has been used since 2020 and has made the selection process of prospective new students easier for the campus, but from the perspective of the prospective new students themselves, the level of its usefulness is not yet known so an evaluation is needed to find out this. The evaluation carried out was a usability evaluation based on the USE Questionnaire by applying mean analysis. Data collection involved 267 respondents from system users who were new students in the 2020/2021 to 2022/2023 academic year. The results of the validity test of 30 questionnaire statement items obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) is smaller than the α value (0.05) so that all statement items are declared valid, while the Cronbach's alpha value obtained as a result of the reliability test is 0.721, which means it is included in the high reliability category. In addition, for measuring usability, the grand mean value for the usability dimension was 4.62, the ease of use dimension was 4.65, the ease of learning dimension was 4.78, the satisfaction dimension ) is 4.57 and the grand mean value is 4.65 so it is included in the very high category. These results illustrate the positive perception of respondents towards the academic ability test system for prospective new students, where the system is considered very useful and therefore very suitable for use.

Abstract

Guest visits to various government agencies are a common activity. The South Sumatra Provincial Health Service also experienced something similar, where this visit involved various activities such as meetings, hearings, consultations, reporting, and so on. However, with the high frequency of guest visits, various challenges arise, such as employees not being able to determine visit schedules and guests being unable to predict the level of crowds, making it difficult to find a parking space. Several hospitals, such as RSIA Hermina Palembang and Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang, have implemented a guest visit management system. These systems focus on making patient registration and outpatient administration easier so that there is no more queuing. However, the difference in the problem between the South Sumatra Provincial Health Service and RSIA Hermina and Palembang Muhammadiyah Hospital is the focus on proper scheduling of employees and avoiding accumulation of parking spaces for guests. The right method to overcome this problem is to apply the Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology, which consists of three stages, namely Requirement Planning, Design, and Implementation. This method involves data collection and analysis which includes literature study, observation, interviews, and filling out questionnaires before designing the system. By using this methodology, we will produce a system that can provide information about the correct guest appointment schedule and avoid accumulation of parking lots by limiting the number of guests arriving at the same time.

Abstract

The Indonesian Smart College Card Scholarship or KIP-K is one of the many scholarships provided by the government to continue their education to a higher level for students who excel but are constrained by costs. One of the universities in Garut that provides new student admissions through this scholarship route is the Garut Institute of Technology. Every year, the Garut Institute of Technology always experiences an increase in the number of KIP-K scholarship applicants, however this is not commensurate with the number of quotas obtained so a selection process must be carried out so that the scholarship can be right on target. The selection process itself is carried out manually without the help of a special system that can help select more precisely and efficiently. The aim of this research is to build a web-based prediction system application by applying the K-Nearest Neighbors classification model to help select prospective KIP-K scholarship recipients at the Garut Institute of Technology based on test scores, economic conditions, academic and non-academic achievements of each participant. The classification model is applied in the system as a process of classifying the eligibility of prospective recipients so that the selection process is more focused on participants who are categorized as eligible. The system was built using the waterfall approach method so that system development is more structured. This research produces an application in the form of a web-based prediction system that can help classify eligibility and select prospective KIP-K scholarship recipients at the Garut Institute of Technology with a system accuracy level in predicting participant eligibility of 91.86%.
