Abstract

The impact of drought, in addition to reduced availability and supply of water, also decreased food production, and land / forest fires. Drought provides an opportunity for serious forest fires to occur in various forest areas in Indonesia. Because of this, the drought index analysis was carried out in the Indragiri watershed in Riau Province. The drought index is analyzed using the Run Theory method. Limitations of observation station data in the Indragiri watershed, satellite data is used which is managed by The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) from 1984 to 2013. The Run Theory method can be used to spatially analyze drought that occurs in drought that occurs in Indragiri watershed. Based on the results of the analysis of the drought index, the highest percentage of drought index occurred in 1984 with a value of 87.49% (normal classification), while the lowest percentage of drought index occurred in 1994 with a value of 61.68% (very dry classification).

Abstract

Sudirman Street intersection is part of the main road in the city of Pekanbaru where the activity in this road area is quite besar.ruas this road is a transportation path that is used by the community if they want to head office and school in Pekanbaru city. Thus, it is often delayed because the volume of vehicles passing through the intersection especially from the west (Jalan Tuanku Tambusai) is quite dense, resulting in slowing and accelerating vehicles that veer at intersections and can cause conflicts from other vehicles that cross the intersection. Prior to the first research, measurements were taken to collect the width of the approach data on the intersection. The data taken were all vehicles passing through the intersection of either the left, straight, or right turn, and the length of the queue. The research was conducted for three days on Saturday (05/30/2011), Monday (02/05/2011), with the morning observation hour (06.00-08.00) WIB, noon (12:00 to 14:00 pm ), afternoon at (16.00-18.00). The data is then processed by Method MKJI 1997. Based on the evaluation that has been done, the length of queue and degree of saturation at the intersection is very high. To overcome this, three alternative designs are green time design, road geometry design, and road geometry design along with green time design. The result of the calculation after 3 alternatives shows that the degree of saturation in each approach has met the acceptable value of 0.75. The right handling solution done today is with the green time design alternative.

Abstract

The pico-hydro power plant is a power plant with a water source as the driving force for the generator. The use of pico hydro has not been popularized in the community so that its utilization has not been maximized. The use of pico-hydro independently can encourage the acceleration of development of underdeveloped areas, because by utilizing pico-hydro it will create a community with independent power plants. This is an alternative way to produce renewable electricity sources because it does not use fuel. The most important components in the manufacture of this machine are the use of pumps, turbines and generators. The working principle of the Pico Hydro Power Plant (PLTPH) is very simple. That is by utilizing the water discharge per second that is in the flow of rivers, irrigation or waterfalls. The flow will be flowed to drive the turbine and will be continued to drive the generator. The expected capacity of this PLTPH prototype is 250 watts (dc). With a power capacity of 250 watts, it is expected to help the community in finding renewable power sources.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the chemical and physical quality of drilled well water at Medan Aviation Polytechnic. Such as the quality of turbidity, color, Dissolved Solids (TDS), taste, odor, iron (Fe), hardness, nitrate, chromium valence, Lead (Pb), organic matter and pH. This study analyzed the water consumed and compared it with the Regulation of the Minister of Health No. 492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010, covering microbiological, chemical, and physical requirements. The trial results are also compared with the water quality standard values that have been set by the government, PEMENKES No 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990 concerning Clean Water Quality Requirements. Testing physical and chemical quality of water includes testing elements using a thermometer and testing for color using,sense of sight. The samples used in this study were four samples, namely wells A, B, C and sample D. The drilled well water that has been tested will be used used for daily needs including drinking needs in the cadet dormitories, housing lecturers and employees in campus area. The results showed that turbidity parameter was 2.68 NTU to 4.59 NTU, the color parameter was 4.59 TCU to 5.3 TCU, the TDS parameter was 64.3 to 121.4 mg/l, hardness parameter was 82.32 to 101.9 mg/l, Valence Chromium parameter 0.005 to 0.017 mg/l, Lead parameter 0.02158 to 0.04166 mg/l, Nitrate parameter 1.1 to 1, 5 mg/l, pH parameters 6.9 to 7.2, Fe parameters 0.10581 up to 0.21050 mg/l, organic matter parameters 2.211 to 3.160. So based on the physical parameters and chemical parameters, the borehole water at Medan Aviation Polytechnic meets the requirements set by the government for consumption.

Abstract

The AICAR building is part of the waste water system located in Lubuk Gaung - Dumai. Analysis and design of this AICAR uses reinforced concrete material for its structural material. Planning uses the extreme conditions of the water load / hydrostatic load variable. The selection of water load modeling becomes the key word in the analysis and design of the building mentioned above. The hydrostatic load causes the distance pattern from the pile to be limited to a minimum pile distance of 2.57 m x 3.44 m. The reinforcement on the wall has a denser distance than the floor plate reinforcement.

Abstract

The Kabanjahe-Kutacane road section is the main route connecting regencies and cities in the province of North Sumatra, as well as connecting between provinces on the island of Sumatra. This road segment is often traversed by heavy vehicles loaded with basic necessities, so there is the potential for frequent traffic violations such as vehicle loads that are more than what is permitted. This study was conducted to determine the impact of road damage that occurs if the vehicle load is excessive and to determine the value of the degree of road damage from overloaded roads and to find the remaining life (reaming life) of road pavements with excessive loads on the road. This research was conducted using data collection methods, both data from direct surveys to the location of roads or journals related to road damage, analyzed by qualitative methods which emphasize on facts on the ground and take advantage of existing theories as supporting material. The results of the analysis show that vehicle loads that have exceeded the heaviest axle load (MST) can affect the strength of the pavement layer thereby reducing the technical design life of the road from 5 years to 4,551 years. Overloading of goods transport vehicles not only reduces the design life of the road but can also cause damage to the asphalt such as potholes, crocodile cracks and distortion. From the results of the analysis, several suggestions can be given for prevention and improvement in the future, namely taking strict action against violations of goods transport vehicles that exceed the Heaviest Axis Load (MST), namely sanctions for decreasing and sanctions for not crossing roads or warnings to companies and fines to companies. directly.

Abstract

National Housing (Perumnas) Simalingkar Medan is a residential area that is quite dense with residents around 8,628 households. Until now, the garbage produced by households has not been managed properly, this can be seen from the large amount of garbage that has accumulated in several corners of settlements, in the banks and sideways / riverbanks even in the watershed in the settlements.Waste management at Perumnas Simalingkar Medan still uses a conventional treatment system, which starts from the collection process from a container or household garbage collection place, then transports it to a temporary collection point (TPS) which is also called the transfer depot in the settlement on Sawit Raya road, then transported to the final processing site (TPA) in the village of Namo Bintang. It has been designed a counter that can be used to count household waste and be used as a planting medium that can be marketed by plant entrepreneurs.

Abstract

In planning the lower structure data is needed regarding the characteristics of the soil and the structural loads acting on it. The research location is on a bridge located in Sidikalang, Dairi Regency, North Sumatra, which is called the Lae Marsaban Bridge on the Sumbul Pegagan Section - Parikki - Pangiringan Link. 117 STA. 143 + 000 in Dairi District. Examination of soil type is carried out visually to determine the value of carrying capacity of the soil. According to observations at the location that the condition of the soil was very hard and dense. Based on the results of a review of the Lae Marsaban Bridge Project, its carrying capacity has met the requirements based on the results of the sondir carried out. The foundation used is a sump foundation with a diameter of 2.5 meters and a depth of 8.4 meters, where the depth of hard soil is at 8.4 m. According to researchers, the implementation of the bridge is considered too excessive in terms of economic aspects. For this reason, more detailed and comprehensive research follow-up is needed.

Abstract

Basically the construction of a highway is the process of opening a traffic room that overcomes various geographical obstacles. In road design, the geometry of the road must be set in such a way that the road in question can provide optimal service to traffic according to its function. Roads that are used as locations are several roads located in the area of North Sumatra, Deli Serdang Regency and Karo Regency, namely Three (3) STAs, such as (STA 49 + 400 Bend Amoy I), (STA 50 + 500 Bend Amoy II), ( STA 58 + 300 Pelawi Bend). Data identification results, STA 49 + 400 Amoy I bend using spiral-spiral (SS) type, STA STA 50 + 500 Amoy II bend using spiral-spiral (SS) bend type, and STA 58 + 300 Pelawi bend using spiral bend type -spiral (SS) too. Therefore all three points of the STA must get special treatment to reduce the possibility of an accident.

PT. X as a company engaged in the printing and publishing industry. In carrying out its business activities the company has implemented a production quality control system.
