Abstract

There is reluctance by some scholars today to reinterpret the Qur'an, because it is guided by a number of strict conditions proposed by classical scholars. On the other hand, in this millennial era we can find a number of people who interpret the Qur'an, even though they do not have a qualified scientific capacity. This makes the Koran the first to be a clue, but instead applies the opposite due to the carelessness of the interpreter. Responding to this phenomenon, it is important to study further about what conditions must be met by the interpreter in this millennium, both from the mental aspect (personality) and from scientific capacity. This research was conducted using comparative methods and data analysis with theory Socrates dialectic. A number of findings from this study included: first, differences in the determination of the conditions that must be fulfilled by the mufassir, among ulama actually constitute a form of ijtihad and the prudence of previous scholars, and are not an absolute requirement that cannot be contested, and can change according to the conditions. Secondly, there are six mental conditions that have to be universally interpreted, namely: true aqeedah, clean from lust, good intentions and true goals, obedience and practice of knowledge, holding fast to the sunnah, exerting energy to learn or equipping yourself with science, while the memorization of the Qur'an is a temporal and flexible requirement. Third, the scientific qualifications of the universal interpreter should master a number of the following scientific disciplines, namely: the science of Arabic, ulum al-Qur'an, ulum al-hadis. In addition, supporting knowledge is needed such as medical science related to verses concerning the medical field, astronomy related to astrology verses, and other sciences, all of which are local, temporal and flexible.

As a sign of the primacy of science in Islam is the nature of science is one of the obligatory properties of Allah SWT. Therefore, all prophets and messengers are sent to teach knowledge to the people they are developing. Science is an important knowledge that people need to answer all the problems of life. By having knowledge, the prosperous world life as well as the happier hereafter will be realized. That's what science is for. Speaking of knowledge, in the Qur'an scattered the word science and all kinds of derivatives. Man, according to the Qur'an has the potential to gain knowledge and develop it with the permission of Allah. Therefore, scattered verses that commanded humans to take various ways to make that happen. Over and over again the Qur'an shows how high the position of the knowledgeable. According to the Qur'anic view - as the first revelation implies - science consists of two kinds. First, science acquired without human effort, is called 'ilm ladunni, as informed among others by the Qur'an. With science then all problems will be solved. With knowledge people will be able to behave better, people will be able to tolerate with others despite different principles.

Abstract

This paper aimed to explore the development of the meaning of the term jihad in the Qur'an using Toshihiko Izutsu's semantic approach, namely looking for basic meaning, relational meaning, and giving rise to a concept. This research included library research by collecting data on the term jihad in the verses of the Qur'an. The analysis of the verses was done using linguistic analysis. The results showed that the term jihad is not only understood with something radical, but can be understood as a form of earnestness in goodness with the conditions being faced either individually or in groups, with the form of deeds, speech, property, and thoughts. This research also proved that there is a context of jihad outside of war, such as jihad against lust, jihad against evil, jihad in the family, jihad in property, and jihad of knowledge or against ignorance. Synonyms of the term jihad in the Qur'an include: using the terms kadaḥa and naṣaba which mean hard work, earnestness. That way, jihad can be used in all aspects of life such as jihad in the education, government, economy and trade sectors.

Abstract

The use of the digital Qur'an is growing rapidly in the midst of society. The emergence of the digital Qur'an makes it easier for people to access the Qur'an by simply opening it from their mobile phone. In this study, we will analyze the rasm and sources of interpretation used by one of the digital applications, namely the Qur'an (free). The aim is to describe the characteristics of this application. This research is a type of library research. The method used is a qualitative method. This study will compare the rasm in the application of the Qur'an (free) with some authoritative data regarding the Ottoman theory of race and those related to standardization theory prevailing in Indonesia. The results of this study are the application of the Qur'an (free) following the Ottoman Empire. Abstract

Patriarchal culture is still developing in our society, where women are constructed as weak creatures and are behind men. This culture is inseparable from religious doctrines, which also lead to the discourse of restricting women’s movement; in this case, the labeling of salihah is a strong enough factor that women outside the home deviate from Islamic law. Yuvid.TV conveys one of the constructions that marginalize women on its YouTube channel. Therefore, the questionn answered in this study was how to construct salihah women through Yufid.TV's interpretation of QS. An-Nisā’[4]: 34 considering that Yufid.TV in several of its shows also discussed salihah women. Then this study examined how relevant this interpretation to the contemporary context. By using Karl Mannheim's sociology of knowledge approach and descriptive-critical analysis, this study showed that Yufid.TV's understanding in interpreting QS. An-Nisā’[4]: 34 tends to be textual and seems indifferent to the social conditions of the surrounding community. So that this pious construction reflects on the patriarchal mindset, namely the effort to make women as secondary beings whose duties are limited to domestic affairs only. In fact, in the contemporary social context, the discourse of women's equality has been widely expressed. Where many women have succeeded in proving that their existence is worthy of consideration

Abstract

This article described the Tafhi>mul Qur'an interpretation method written by Sayyed Abu A'la Al-Maududi from Pakistan. Efforts to interpret the Qur'an if examined from its history began in tandem with the activities of the Rasullullah's da'wah activities that conveyed the teachings of Islam that were revealed in the form of revelation. However, after the death of Rasullullah, the companions and generations after him were required to do ijtihad to understand the verses of the Qur'an. The goal is none other than so that the Qur'an as a guide to life can be applied in everyday life, as well as so that the Qur'an is able to answer the problems of the people. For this reason, along with the passage of time and regional differences, interpretation has distinctive characteristics and differences in interpretation. Even interpretation efforts continue until now. One of the interpretations that appeared in the 20th century was written by Sayyid Abu A’la al-Maududi with the title Tafhīmul Qur'ān. This article is a qualitative research that is a descriptive-analytic library research. The results of this study revealed that the tafsir method used in tafsir Tafhīmul Qur'ān was the tahlili and ijmali method, which explains from various aspects delivered in ijmali. In terms of interpretation sources, this tafsir can be categorised as tafsir bil ma'tsur and bil ra'yi with al-adabi ijtima'i and 'ilmi style.

Abstract

This paper provides a detailed analysis of the Qur'an's teachings on environmental protection. First, the Qur'an provides an overview of the creation of the universe through its verses. The verses also define numerous natural terms, such as living things, plants, soil, and water, among others. Second, the Qur'an explains that human intervention is necessary to maintain the balance of nature. Therefore, the Qur'an emphasizes that humans are responsible for maintaining, caring for, and preserving their living environment. Even the Qur'an provides a stern warning to humans who harm the environment. The Qur'an provides several concepts of environmental sustainability, including gratitude for the gift of natural resources, respect for nature, and stewardship of the natural environment. The way these ecological verses are explained demonstrates that the Qur'an is highly relevant and even contextual to the issue of environmental degradation. To protect and preserve nature, it is necessary to conduct a study of interpretation using an ecological paradigm
