Abstract

The transformation of the Umrah industry is an implication of the Saudi Vision 2030 policy, which encourages the modernization of digital-based service systems and an increase in the number of pilgrims globally. These changes require Umrah travel agencies to adapt through technological innovation to maintain competitiveness amidst increasingly fierce competition. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital transformation as a competitive strategy at PT Madinah Iman Wisata and identify its impact on operational efficiency and service quality for pilgrims. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of company activities. Research informants consisted of management, operational staff, and pilgrims who use the service. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions using triangulation techniques to maintain the validity of the findings. The results show that the digital transformation implemented by PT Madinah Iman Wisata includes the digitization of the registration and payment system, the use of digital media as a marketing tool, and the integration of services with the Umrah technology platform. This implementation has been proven to improve operational efficiency, accelerate the service process, and increase transparency and ease of access for pilgrims. Furthermore, digital transformation plays a role in strengthening differentiation strategies by improving service quality and customer experience. Another impact is increased levels of pilgrim satisfaction and trust, which ultimately contribute to customer loyalty. This research finding confirms that digital transformation serves not only as an operational support tool but also as a key strategy for creating sustainable competitive advantage. Therefore, Umrah travel agencies need to strategically integrate digital technology to address the ever-evolving industry dynamics.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Sahabat Zayed Golek Garwo program as a modern ta'aruf media at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Surakarta. This program is present as a response to the decline in marriage rates in Indonesia and facilitates the community in finding a life partner in today's era. The method used in this study is qualitative with a descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the Sahabat Zayed Golek Garwo program has been running very effectively through digital technology updates in managing participant data and the use of social media as a means of socialization and promotion. This success is driven by the level of public trust in the program in collaboration with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, maintaining the privacy and security of participants, social media as a means of attracting public interest, and adequate facilities at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Nevertheless, regular inspection and strengthening of the workflow mechanism are important aspects in optimizing the program in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges faced by Islamic propagation institutions indigital transformation, map relevant dimensions of adaptive leadership, and formulate changenavigation strategies to respond to the digital propagation paradigm shift. The methods usedare literature review and qualitative analysis of the phenomenon of digital disruption inreligious institutions in Indonesia. The primary theory underlying this study is RonaldHeifetz's concept of adaptive leadership, which emphasizes an organization's ability to facecomplex challenges that require changes in values and work patterns. The results indicate thatIslamic propagation institutions face structural and cultural barriers (digital stuttering) as wellas an erosion of authority due to the emergence of informal competitors such as influencerpreachers. The impact of this research is the formulation of three core competencies ofadaptive leadership: the ability to sense-make use of technology, the courage to experimentwith missionary strategies, and managing organizational stress during the transition period. Toaddress these challenges, Islamic missionary institutions need to build data-driven ecosystems, restructure their organizations into agile, creative teams, and harmonize the substantive valuesof Islamic missionary work with attractive digital packaging to remain relevant in thecontemporary era.

Abstract

This research aims to find out more about the history and transformation of da'wah institutionsin Southeast Asia in the midst of regional dynamics that occur. This research uses a literature studyresearch method by reviewing books, literature, notes, and various documents related to the problemto be solved. The results of this study show that da'wah in Southeast Asia has grown since its inceptionthrough a peaceful, adaptive, and social-interaction-based process, especially through trade routes, networks of scholars, and acculturation of local culture. This historical process became the foundationfor the formation of a diverse Muslim community and gave birth to da'wah institutions that wereinitially cultural and community-based into modern organizations that are more structured, professional, and integrated with various sectors of life. The da'wah method has also shifted from aconventional approach to the use of digital technology that allows for a wider and cross-border reach. In addition, the role of da'wah has expanded from a religious function to an agent of socialtransformation that includes the fields of education, economy, and community development. However, this study only relied on library sources such as journal articles, books, magazines, andrelated documents, this led to a lack of empirical data

Abstract

This study examines why pilgrims remain loyal to KBIH Al-Miftah, which is affiliated with Pondok Pesantren Miftahul Ulum Panyepen, Pamekasan, despite its technical services not always meeting modern standards. Such loyalty cannot be explained through transactional service quality approaches; therefore, this research employs social exchange theory as its analytical framework. The study adopts a qualitative method with a single-case design. Data were collected from eleven informants through semi-structured in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis and subsequently analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings reveal that pilgrims’ loyalty is grounded in non-material rewards such as inner peace, belief in divine blessing, and symbolic closeness to the kyai—forms of reward that commercial institutions cannot provide. Trust based on the pesantren’s reputation, the cultural norm of reverence toward kyai authority, and reciprocity manifested in recommendation behavior collectively sustain loyalty. This study contributes to the extension of social exchange theory within the study of religious institution management, particularly in pesantren-based contexts.

Abstract

This study examines GIS-based spatial mapping as an instrument of da'wah management to identify religious service gaps in Kampung Cipulus RW 09, a transitional rural community in Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia (487 residents; 3 RTs; 100% Muslim). GPS field surveys and participatory social mapping documented all da'wah resources, analysed in QGIS 3.22 using four spatial methods: kernel density estimation, buffer analysis, network analysis, and Moran's Index autocorrelation. Findings show a single mosque serves all 487 residents; 285 participants (58.5%) join pengajian, yet instructor quality remains inadequate and no formal TPA or pesantren exists. Moran's I = 0.38 (p < 0.05) confirms service inequality is spatially clustered—not random—reflecting structural gaps rooted in the kampung's agrarian-to-industrial transition. GIS-based mapping offers da'wah managers an evidence-based, replicable framework for resource planning in transitional Muslim communities.

Abstract

We often see and hear in the media such as on television and sometimes even witness firsthand in our own communities, preachers or mubaligh who deliver their sermons filled with hatred, slandering those in power, denigrating or declaring other ethnic groups or races as infidels, and whose sermons even incite provocation, division, and hostility. In fact, quite a few preachers or religious educators have had to face legal consequences and ultimately ended up behind bars or in prison. This study aims to examine the legal protections available to preachers or religious educators when delivering their sermons. This is a literature review using primary legal sources. The primary legal sources include the Criminal Code (KUHP), Law No. 1 of 2024, and Law No. 40 of 2008, while the secondary legal sources consist of books, journals, articles, and dictionaries related to the topic. The data were analyzed using descriptive methods and content analysis. The results of the study indicate that there is no specific protection for mubaligh or preachers in delivering their sermons; all are equal before the law and have the right to express their opinions. However, if their opinions contradict the law such as in cases of hate speech they may be subject to sanctions in accordance with the principles of the rule of law and the provisions of applicable laws and regulations.

Abstract

This study examines the transformation of the philosophy and concept of Islamic leadership from the perspective of da’wah management in the modern leadership era. Rapid developments in digital technology, globalization, organizational complexity, and changing societal characteristics have encouraged the need for adaptive leadership without neglecting Islamic values. This research employs a qualitative-conceptual approach through library research by analyzing the Qur’an, Hadith, scholarly literature on Islamic leadership, da’wah management studies, and contemporary leadership theories. The findings reveal that the philosophical foundations of Islamic leadership, namely amanah, siddiq, tabligh, and fathanah, remain relevant in addressing contemporary organizational challenges. These values undergo transformation through digital, collaborative, adaptive, and transformational leadership approaches. The proposed conceptual model demonstrates that integrating Islamic leadership values with modern leadership practices contributes to organizational effectiveness, da’wah innovation, public trust, and organizational sustainability within contemporary da’wah institutions. Keywords: Islamic Leadership; Da’wah Management; Leadership Transformation; Digital Leadership; Organizational Sustainability.
