Rausyan Fikr: Jurnal Ilmu Studi Ushuluddin dan Filsafat is an academic peer-reviewed journal that publishes the current articles and result of research of the scholars and student who are deeply concerned with theology and philosophy issues. Abstract

This article proposes terms or terms that become benchmarks and entrances in finding similarities in intent with work ethic, either through words, phrases, clauses or sentences that have meaning with work ethic. Through this media, terms related to work ethic in the Qur'an will be found. The purpose of this study is to reveal the meaning of work ethic and its terms in the Qur'an. This research uses descriptive qualitative method through the design of the thematic study research type. The technique of data collection is done by literature study. The results of the study found terms in the Qur'an that contain the same meaning with work ethic, including: the terms al-'amal (al-salih), al-ibtiga', al-kasb, al-itqan, al-ihsan, al-birr, al-ta'awun, al-jihad, istibaq al-khairat, ita al-mal, tazyin al-hubb al -syahawat min al-qanatir al-muqantarah, al-wafa' bi al 'uqud, and miras al-ard.

Abstract

The debate about the attributes of Allah (sifat-sifat Allah) among the mutakallimmin has become an important issue that is discussed because the issue is directly related to monotheism. The debate is caused by the method of thinking used beings different from one group to another. This paper aims to discuss the debate between Abu Hasan al-Asyari, Ibn Taimiyah and the Muktazilah. This paper is a literature review by analyzing the concept of al-sifaat in the core books of Abu Hasan al-As'ari, Ibn Tamiya, and Muktazilah and comparing the views of these figures with a focus on similarities and differences as well as the causal factors that surround them. This paper confirms that Abu Hasan al-Asyari as a representation of the Ash'ariyah group and Ibn Tamiya as a representation of the Salaf emphasizes that Allah has a predetermined al-sifaat both through the Qur'an and Sunnah, without doing interpretation (ta’wil) and tasybih. In contrast to the Muktazilah who rejects the affirmation (itsbat) of the sifaat of Allah, because the determination (itsbat) for them will have implications for taaddud al-qudama (many substances that are qadim).

Abstract

Islamic Boarding School as an educational institution makes a great contribution in the field of religion. Education in Islamic Boarding School considers that man is privileged with the ability to think to understand the universe, himself, and the signs of God's majesty. Erich fromm’s view man is actually an organism (living thing) in him there is a process of energy or passions that encourages satisfaction in the around world. If viewed in the perspective of Islamic Boarding School education, santri as a human being who is in an existential dilemma who is experiencing confusion and trying to find a way to overcome the existential problem. More spiritually Islamic Boarding School education is needed and has a role in this problem. Erich Fromm in his Dialectical Humanistic theory gives a view that the man who is in existence has basic needs and character. The purpose of this study is to examine the thinking of erich fromm as a paradigm of human existence that never ceases to be dialectic in the world of reality of its life. The methodology in this research is a library research method, which examines literature sources regarding the thoughts of figures and research objects contained in books, journals, or articles. The results of this study illustrate that humans in this case who pursue islamic boarding school education should be given a guide to be critical in terms of learning or in matters concerning humanity. Because in the view of Dialectical Humanist Theory erich fromm is actually a critical attitude towards human problems, which is to try to relax things that look out of line (opposite) and find solutions. Through education, learners or students will be able to recognize themselves and those around them by understanding their uniqueness.

Abstract

This article focuses on revealing how gender ralation are recorded in the semiotics of Arabic literature through Roland Barthes' semiotics as its perspective. Roland Barthes is a thinker who has great attention to the study of semiotics, including in this context, by seeing a text as a sign system. The constructive relationship that is built between the sign, the signifier, and the signified as described by Roland Barthes in his semiotic thinking requires the reader to be active in dialectic with writers who write literary works so that the denotative meaning of an Arabic literary work can metamorphose into a connotative meaning. In its practical framework, Arabic literary works in various forms such as poetry, prose, and others are full of depictions of women and their social roles that must be approached with semiotic studies so that moral messages are found oriented to gender equality for men and women. In this process, a reader should not be fixated on the denotative meaning of a literary text that is very full of ethical and aesthetic values, but what must be done is that the reader must be active in transforming the denotative meaning into a connotative meaning that continues to have a dialectic with the surrounding cultural context or with the context culture of writers.

Abstract

The hermeneutic approach was rejected by some Muslim scholars because it came from the West, but some other scholars actually tried to lend the theory in understanding the Qur'an and hadith. Not only because of the contribution to Islamic studies, but this approach has very strong roots in Islam itself. This paper shows the possibility of applying hermeneutic methods, especially Hans-Georg Gadamer's circle hermeneutics in understanding religious texts. This paper also explores the contemporary Muslim perspective and the classical position of hermeneutic approach. This data shows that circular hermeneutics is a new term in Islamic thought but has existed since early times such as the time of the prophets, companions and successors known as ta`wil. This shows that there are several hermeneutic theories that can be applied in understanding the Qur'an and hadith. Classical sciences, such as ulumul Qur'an, ulumul hadith and ushul fiqh can be strengthened by a hermeneutic approach towards a more comprehensive and contextual understanding.

Abstract

Using hermeneutics as a method of contextual interpretation has begun to be massive in Indonesia, although its compatibility is still debatable. The double movement hermeneutics initiated by Fazlur Rahman is one of the methods widely adopted by Indonesian Muslim scholars in their research. This study tries to investigate the extent to which Fazlur Rahman's theory of double movement influences the development of contextual interpretation theory in Indonesia. This article uses the library research method by operationalizing the historical theory of Kuntowijoyo's thought in order to understand the development of thought more comprehensively. This study concludes that Rahman's double movement hermeneutics provides the basis for the emergence of contextual interpretation theories in Indonesia, such as The Ma'nā cum Maghzā theory and The Tafsīr Maqāshidī theory. The last two theories combine hermeneutics with the Ulūmul Qur'ān and Maqāsid Syarī’ah to formulate a contextual interpretation in Indonesia.

Abstract

Tafsir Falsafi (philosophical exegesis) is one of of the Islamic intellectual resource that have occupied the intellectualism of Muslim thinkers since the early period. However, the epistemological side of the interpretation model was problematic, as it creates controversy among the readers. Today, the controversy is still frequently found from some thinkers of the Quranic studies. This paper discusses Muhammad Husain al-Zahabi’s thoughts on philosophical interpretation. Utilized a library research, this paper uses content analysis method to analyze al-Zahabi's thoughts. This paper emphasizes that in al-Zahabi's works, especially in his book, al-Tafsir wa al-Mufassirun, he rejected philosophical interpretations which only make products of Greek philosophical thought as the main tools Quranic interpretation. Offered by Muslim philosophers such as al-Farabi, Ibn Sina and the Ikhwanus Shafa, It was considered by al-Zahabi to be very dangerous for the Muslims faith. In addition, their offer of interpretation model is considered far from the truth value of religion (Islam). However, this assessment actually confirms the stagnation of philosophical interpretation in the constellation of Islamic thought so that it has an impact on the weak implementation of the Qur'anic curiosity.

Abstract

The issue of apostasy in Indonesia is still controversial and widely discussed by the public. Leaving the Islamic religion or moving from one religion to another is closely related to religious law and freedom of religion. Today, cases of apostasy are rife among artists for various reasons. Thus, a question arises, does their status make fun of religion? Or blasphemy against religion? Or part of human rights? This paper seriously reviews the case of changing religions using the Ushul Fiqh approach, especially the work of Al-Mustashfa al-Ghazali. This type of research is library research, and looks at phenomena and facts that occur among artists as figures and idols for Indonesian people. From the analysis conducted, this paper concludes that; first, apostates move from Islam and return to disbelief; secondly theologically that killing apostates is not the right solution and is not in accordance with Islamic norms as a religion of rahmatan lil 'alamin. Third, the verses and hadiths do not indicate any killings, except in the context of the verses whereby the perpetrators of apostasy had the aim/intention to be enemies of Islam. Fourth, artists who apostate must be subject to sanctions according to the rules and regulations that apply in Indonesia

Abstract

Women's leadership in the political realm in the Islamic community is often an issue and even a problem phenomenon that seems difficult to resolve. The existence of pros and cons related to the opinion of women's leadership in the political sphere also affects discussions and issues of public space for Muslims. It is not surprising then that many thinkers of Islamic studies have provided opinions or views related to women's leadership in the political realm, including in this case Ibn Asyur. Ibn Asyur has his own views related to women's leadership in the political realm. Ibn Asyur's thought was not born just like that but was born through the methodology and construction of thought from various aspects. This article discusses related to (1) how is the leadership of women in politics according to Ibn Asyur's thought? and (2) how is the analysis of Ibn Asyur's method in the thinking of women's leadership in the political sphere? The research objectives in this article are (1) to describe women's leadership in politics according to Ibn Asyur's thought; and (2) analyzing Ibn Asyur's method of thinking about women's leadership in the political realm. The conclusion of this research is that in the context of political leadership, women are placed according to their nature. Women may be involved in political matters has limitations. Considering that by nature, women cannot be equated with men, especially in physical terms.

Abstract

Diversity or diversity is a gift and provision of Allah SWT. for his people to know each other, understand, install and bind. However, the fact is often the trigger for division by mutual hostility and hatred between one another. This research examines in depth about diversity and unity in the perspective of the Qur'an through the narrations of classical and contemporary mufassir. This study uses a thematic-contextual interpretation method that is descriptive in nature. The results of this study indicate that the diversity of religions or beliefs, culture, language, skin color is part of the sunnatullah that must be addressed wisely. The Spirit of the Qur'an emphasizes that the basic principle that must be used as a guide in dealing with this diversity is to precipitate noble values, including mutual respect (at-tasâmuh), mutual assistance (at-ta'âwun), and mutual improvement (at-tasâmuh) mutual love (at-tarahum). This fact refutes the accusations against the Qur’an which considers it a book of hatred and is full of calls for violence.
