Abstract

This study analyzes the role of export policies and environmental conservation in poverty reduction in Indonesia within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The main focus is directed towards palm oil exports as a proxy for export policy and the area of reforestation as a proxy for environmental conservation efforts, with the number of poor people as the dependent variable. This study uses time series data from 2000–2023 and a linear-log regression approach. The research finds that an increase in palm oil export volume significantly reduces the number of poor people, affirming the role of the strategic export sector in supporting overall economic growth. On the contrary, reforestation shows a positive relationship with the number of poor people, indicating that conservation policies have not yet fully responded to the social and community welfare dimensions. The R² test result of 82.12% indicates that the model has a strong explanatory power. This research recommends a synergy between economic and environmental policies in an integrated manner so that poverty alleviation efforts align with ecosystem protection and local community empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of government spending in the education, health, and infrastructure sectors on the human development index in Aceh province. This study uses a combination of cross-section data with time series in 23 regencies/cities in Aceh Province during 2018-2024. The data analysis method used is Panel Data Regression with the help of eviews 10. The results of this study prove that Government Spending in the Education Sector and Health Sector have a positive and significant effect on the human development index, while Government Spending in the Infrastructure Sector has a negative and significant effect on the human development index. The magnitude of the influence of Government Spending in the Education, Health and Infrastructure Sectors on the Human Development Index is 28.12 and the remaining 71.88 is influenced by other variables outside this model. It is recommended that the Regency/City governments in Aceh Province can realize government spending in the Education, Health and Infrastructure Sectors properly, so that the economy in Aceh is stable and people's welfare increases.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how the Environmental Quality Index, Human Development Index, and Inflation affect Economic Growth at the provincial level in Indonesia. This study uses panel secondary data from 34 provinces in Indonesia for the period 2020 to 2024, obtained from official publications of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF). To achieve the research objectives, a panel data regression analysis method was used with a Fixed Effect Model (FEM) approach processed using the Eviews-12 program. The results of the study show that partially, the variables of the Environmental Quality Index, Human Development Index, and Inflation have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, respectively. Simultaneously, these three variables also have a positive and significant effect on economic growth in Indonesia. These findings confirm that efforts to improve environmental quality, accelerate human development, and maintain inflation stability have an important role in encouraging sustainable economic growth at the regional level.

Abstract

This research investigates how education levels, Special Autonomy Funds, and economic growth influence poverty in the districts and cities of Aceh Province. The study uses panel data from 2019 to 2024, obtained from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK), and applies panel regression analysis. Among the models tested, the Random Effects Model (REM) was identified as the most suitable approach. The results reveal that education expenditure and special autonomy funds significantly reduce poverty, whereas economic growth shows a positive but statistically insignificant effect. Combined analysis indicates that education levels, special autonomy funds, and economic growth together have a significant positive impact on poverty levels in Aceh’s districts and cities. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Aceh government enhance investments in education and improve education quality through effective use of special autonomy funds. Such measures are expected to foster economic growth and contribute to the reduction of poverty across the province

Abstract

Village funds, social assistance funds, and capital expenditure are important instruments in regional development that play a role in poverty alleviation efforts. This study aims to analyze the effects of village funds, social assistance funds, and capital expenditure on the poverty rate in Aceh Province. The data used in this study are panel data covering the period from 2017 to 2024. The data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of Aceh Province and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance. The analytical method employed is panel data regression, with the Random Effects Model (REM) selected as the most appropriate model. The results show that village funds have a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate in Aceh Province. Social assistance funds also have a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate. Meanwhile, capital expenditure has a positive and significant effect on the poverty rate in Aceh Province. Based on these findings, it is recommended that provincial and district/city governments in Aceh manage village funds, social assistance funds, and capital expenditure more effectively to reduce poverty in the region.
