Abstract

The objectives of this research are (1) to implement Project Based Learning (PjBL) in improving students' learning outcomes and creativity on the topic of Hydroponics, (2) to determine the impact of PjBL implementation on improving students' learning outcomes, (3) to determine the impact of PjBL implementation on enhancing students' creativity, and (4) to determine students' responses to the Project Based Learning model in improving learning outcomes and creativity. The research method used a quantitative approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study comprised all 11th-grade students of the Multimedia and Motorcycle Engineering programs at SMK Pejuang Negeri Haurgeulis Indramayu, consisting of 2 classes. The research sample was 32 students from the 11th-grade Multimedia program. The sample was determined by selecting one class as the experimental class using purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, and questionnaires. The analysis techniques used were descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of this study concluded that: (1) The implementation of learning using the PjBL model showed that teachers were able to carry out learning effectively, marked by the implementation of the PjBL model with an average percentage of 85%, where observer 1 had 10% unimplemented and observer 2 had 15% unimplemented. (2) The pre-test learning outcomes above the minimum passing grade (KKM) were 31.23%, while the post-test learning outcomes above the KKM were 87.5%. Thus, it can be concluded that there was a 56.25% increase from pre-test to post-test, which is categorized as moderate. (3) The use of the PjBL model in hydroponics projects was very positive for developing students' creativity, as reflected in the average creativity score of 82%, which is categorized as good. (4) The learning process of hydroponics projects using PjBL received positive responses from students, indicated by a percentage of 94.4%.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and scientific literacy are known to be low because the learning process does not involve students so that students are les active in participating in learning. This research was conducted with the aim of improving students critical thinking skillss and scientific literacy on the concept of envinomental pollution. The research method used in this study was quasi experimental with a two group pretest posttest design. Sampling was done by using random sampling technique. The research sample was students of class X MIA MAN 2 Tasikmalaya City. The instrument used in this study was as critical thinking ability description test sheet as many as 13 queation, LKPD to measure scientific litteracy, and a student response questionaire sheet to learning. The data analysis technique used was t test with a significantion of the level of 0.05. The conclusion of this study is the effect of discovery learning learning models on students' critical thinking skills and scientific literacy on the concept of environmental pollution Bio Educatio Vol. 7 No. 2 April 2022 | 2 (experimental study in class X MAN 2 Tasikmalaya City in 2021/2022). The results of the study show that the Discovery learning model can improve students' critical thinking skills as indicated by the average gain value. This is supported by the response of students who gave a percentage score of 94% which indicates that the response of students to learning is very positive and really likes learning using the discovery learning model on the concept of environmental pollution.

Abstract

Positive attitude is very important to accelerate student capability to achieve the purpose of learning in learning activity. One way to increase scientific attitude of the student is by doing practical activity.  Bacteria identification is one way to support it.  The usage of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) to stain the bacteria has done as an alternative. The aim of the study is to determine the usage of dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) extract staining method in practical of bacteria identification to increase scientific attitude.  This is a quantitative descriptive study.  Population include student of biology teacher candidates of Tadris IPA Biology department of IAIN Syekh Nurjati Cirebon.  Random samlping was done using one class that consist of 28 student.  Scientific attitude scale instrument was used to collect data in forms of observation paper and questionnaires. Te results showed that the overall practical process wass very good with average point of 95.06 and was overall able to increase scientific attitude based on objectivity indicator. Observation result shows the value of 79.46% and 86.16% based on questinaires. These indicated a very good result. Dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) extract can be used as staining alternative to identify bacteria forms in kefir milk, yoghurt and pasteurized milk.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an overview of the product characteristics of the development of Local Material practicum tools in elementary schools, which can help improve students' mastery of concepts and learning activities in learning how to live humans, animals and plants in elementary schools. The emergence of this goal was motivated by the lack of practicum tools in elementary schools, so that it became an obstacle when they wanted to do practicum. This study used a research and development (R&D) approach covering the stages of curriculum analysis and observation, product design, design validation, design improvement, small-scale trials, and usage trials. The usage trial used Quasi-experiments. The research participants were fifth-graders at SDN Indrajaya 01, 02, 03, and 04, a four-school elementary complex in Indrajaya, Salem District, Brebes Regency. The results showed that the use of Local Material practicum tools can help improve students' mastery of concepts and learning activities. The product is suitable for use where, according to student responses, after a small-scale trial is carried out, it receives a score of 3.04 on the Eligible criteria and the teacher's assessment with an average score of 3.22 on the Eligible criteria. The effective product improves conceptual understanding, with tcount = 2.77 > from ttable 1.69 at a significant level of 5%. Effective products increase student activity with a score of 88.80 in the experimental class and 76.69 in the control class. The results showed that the product development of Local Material practicum tools can help improve students' mastery of concepts and learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in scientific literacy and scientific attitude of students through practicum learning with vee diagrams on ecosystem material. The method used in this research is a quasi-experimental with "static group pretest-posttest design". The research subjects were students of class VII in one of the junior high schools in Cirebon Regency. The sample is 65 students. The results showed that the implementation of practicum learning with the vee diagram was almost entirely carried out in accordance with the practicum stages. Based on the average difference test, the results showed that there was no significant (significant) difference between the average scientific literacy of students in the control class and the experimental class. The data processing techniques used are normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing (t test). Based on the results of the analysis using Kolmogorov- Smirnova that practical learning with vee diagrams can improve students' scientific literacy on ecosystem materials. The results showed that there was an increase in students' scientific literacy, especially in the aspect of competence in identifying scientific problems by 85%. In the aspect of science attitudes, practicum with vee diagrams is able to improve students' scientific attitudes on indicators of responsibility for resources and the environment. Most students expressed a positive response to the application of practicum learning with the help of vee diagrams on ecosystem material.

Abstract

This meta-analysis and bibliographic study aims to compare the effectiveness of biological and chemical control methods against Spodoptera frugiperda, using the mortality rate percentage as the primary parameter. Data were pooled from studies indexed in Scopus from 2019 to 2024. Biological agents include species like Telenomus remus, Bacillus thuringiensis, and Trichogramma spp., while chemical agents include substances like emamectin benzoate, chlorpyrifos, and lambda-cyhalothrin. The research spans across multiple continents, highlighting significant contributions from China, Mexico, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Ghana, Thailand, Cameroon, and Malawi, indicating a global effort to manage this pest. ANCOVA was employed to compare the efficacy of these control methods, controlling for covariates such as initial infestation levels and environmental conditions. The analysis confirmed the normality (sig. 0.51) and homogeneity of the data variances(sig.0.79), and linear relationships between covariates and the dependent variable were established. The final comparison revealed no significant difference between the effectiveness of biological and chemical agents in controlling Spodoptera frugiperda(sig. 0.279) This comprehensive assessment enhances the reliability and validity of the findings, providing insights for policymakers and agricultural practitioners to develop more effective pest management strategies and allocate resources efficiently.

Abstract

Penyebaran spesies Kaliandra sp Di Taman Nasional Gunung Ciremai dipengaruhi oleh iklim mikro Kawasan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis iklim mikro yaitu suhu dan kelembaban udara di Kawasan Taman Nasional Gunung Ciremai lebih tepatnya pada tegakan hutan yang didominasi oleh Spesies Kaliandra sp. metode yang digunakan adalah Purposive Sampling berdasarkan interval ketinggian 50 m dari ketinggian tempat 1.100-1.300 mdpl yang pada setiap interval ketinggian terdapat 20 titik pengamatan suhu dan kelembaban udara yang dilakukan dari pagi hari, siang hari, dan sore hari  yang dakumulasikan pada setiap bulan. Kemudian analisis data yang digunakan adalah dengan uji regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui pengaruh ketinggian dengan suhu rata-rata dan kelembaban udara rata-rata di tegakan Kaliandra sp. Hasil pada penelitian ini adalah selama lima bulan, suhu rata-rata harian menunjukkan perbedaan antara 1.100 dan 1.150, sedangkan ketinggian lainnya tidak berubah secara signifikan dan cenderung turun. Sedangkan pada tiga bulan pertama kelembaban rata-rata harian meningkat, tetapi cenderung turun pada bulan Oktober. Hasil analisis regresi linier berganda diperoleh persamaan regresi Y= 26,07 – 0,853 Suhu Rata-rata – 7,07 Kelembaban Rata-rata menjelaskan bahwa variabel dari iklim mikro memiliki korelasi yang negatif dalam mempengaruhi ketinggian tempat di tegakan Kaliandra sp., setiap peningkatan ketinggian tempat berdampak terhadap penurunan suhu dan kelembaban.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas tentang efektivitas berbagai metode pengendalian biologis terhadap hama dan penyakit pada tanaman padi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR), dengan menganalisis beberapa artikel yang terkait tentang pengendalian biologis hama dan penyakit pada tanaman padi. Penelitian ini mencakup penggunaan berbagai agen hayati seperti cendawan, ekstrak dari tanaman dan bakteri untuk mengendalikan hama dan penyakit pada tanaman padi. Contohnya, ekstrak biji dan daun sirsak digunakan untuk mengendalikan walang sangit, dan cendawan endofit untuk penyakit blast. Selain itu, larutan Beauveria bassiana dan konsorsium bakteri efektif dalam mengendalikan hama walang sangit dan ulat grayak, dan hama putih palsu, sementara Trichoderma dan Bacillus spp efektif untuk penyakit bercak coklat. Penggunaan agen hayati ini tidak hanya meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman tetapi juga mengurangi intensitas serangan hama dan penyakit, sehingga mendukung produktivitas pertanian padi yang berkelanjutan dan ramah lingkungan.

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep pengendalian hayati pada materi interaksi mahluk hidup dengan lingkungannya pada siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 1 Gempol Kabupaten Cirebon di pengaruhi oleh metode pembelajaran yang masih menggunakan metode konvensional, Model ini menitikberatkan tenaga pendidik sebagai pusat  dalam kegiatan belajar dan mengajar (Anidlah et al, 2021). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tentang tingkat pemahaman konsep oleh siswa terhadap pengendalian  hayati dalam materi interaksi mahluk hidup dengan lingkungannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode menyebarkan angket atau kuesioner menggunakan media aplikasi Whatsapp secara online. Dan data yang didapatkan dengan teknik pengumpulan Purposive Sampling    kepada 83 siswa kelas VII Semester 2 SMP Negeri Gempol Kabupaten Cirebon kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode CRI. CRI (Certainty of Response Index). Hasil penelitian ini didapatkan sebagian besar siswa mengalami ketidaktahuan konsep pengendalian hayati dengan persentase terbesar sekitar 61,61% sedangkan siswa yang memahami konsep hanya sekitar 16,39%. Kemudian 12,05% paham konsep akan tetapi mereka tidak yakin terhadap jawaban yang diberikan, dan sisanya sekitar 9,96% miskonsepsi.
