Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of e-learning using social media facebook to practice critical thinking skills, the research subjects were 20 students of the first semester of school year 2014-2015 study program PGSD University of NU Surabaya (UNUSA), using a study design one group pre test-post test design. The data obtained were analyzed descriptive statistics. Aplication SAP can be implemented very well with the average percentage of 88.4% keterlaksanaan SAP. Critical thinking skills of students had increased the value of the pre-test and post test with the average for the indicator making skills hypotheses 65 to 86; indicators skills to analyze 55 to 83; indicators skills make conclusions 50 to 89. The response of students to the learning process of e-learning using social media FB showed that 100% of students enjoy participating in the learning process of e-learning, student learning assessment pleased with e-learning using social media FB 100%.  Based on the results, it can be concluded that that implementation of e-learning using social media FB can train students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Untuk menyusun rancangan aplikasi online registration system yang terintegrasi dengan SIAKAD, dilakukan berbagai kegiatan yang dikelola oleh Unit Laboratorium dan Praktikum di Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan IAIN Surakarta. Penelitian ini mengadopsi model dari Borg (2007). Adapun prosedur pengembanganya dimulai dari analisis kebutuhan, Perencanaan, Pengembangan Form Product, Pengujian Lapangan Awal, Revisi Produk Utama, dan Pengajian Lapangan Utama. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Fakultas Ilmu Tarbiyah dan Keguruan IAIN Surakarta. Untuk analisis data digunakan 2 cara yaitu teknik induksi pada tahap need analysis, dan interactive model milik Miles dan Huberman untuk data hasil wawancara dan uji ahli. Keabsahan data sendiri dilakukan melalui triangulasi sumber dan metode. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa (1) On line Registration adalah model aplikasi pendaftaran yang lebih efektif untuk mahasiswa dan Unit Laboratrium dan Praktikum FITK IAIN  Surakarta, (2) Online Registration System yang menjadi salah satu fitur baru dalam SIAKAD diproyeksikan sebagai salah satu fitur yang akan mempermudah layanan pada mahasiswa terkait pendaftaran sebagai calon peserta praktikan, dan (3) Disamping itu melalui layanan SIAKAD mahasiswa juga akan lebih mudah dan efektif dalam mencari informasi terbaru dari seluruh civitas akademika di lingkungan FITK khususnya yang terkait dengan kegiatan di Unit Laboratorium dan Praktikum.Design of an Academic Information System (SIAKAD) with an Integrated Online Registration System at the Laboratory and Practicum Unit at the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training IAIN SurakartaAbstractTo develop an online registration system that is integrated with SIAKAD, various activities are managed by the Laboratory and Practical Unit at IAIN Surakarta Faculty of Teacher Training. This study adopted a model from Borg (2007). The development procedure starts from the needs analysis, Planning, Product Form Development, Initial Field Testing, Main Product Revision, and Main Field Study. The research was conducted at the IAIN Surakarta Faculty of Teacher Training. The data analysis used two ways, namely induction techniques in the stage of need analysis, and interactive models belonging to Miles and Huberman for interview data and expert tests. The validity of the data is done through source triangulation and methods. The results of data analysis indicate that (1) Online registration is a more effective registration application model for students admitted in Laboratory and Practicum Unit, (2) Online Registration System projected as one of the features that will facilitate services for students related to registration as prospective participants, and (3) it is easier and more effective for students to find the latest information from all academics in the faculty environment especially those related to activities in the Laboratory and Practicum Units.

Abstract

[Title: Making Chitosan From Shrimp Cup As Gold (Au) Adsorben]. This study aims to make chitosan from shrimp shell as golden adsorbent. Stages of chitosan preparation include demineralization stage using 1,5M HCL, deproteination stage using 3.5% NaOH to obtain chitin powder, then followed by chitin deacetylation stage using 60% NaOH to produce an anime that is chitosan. Subsequently, the chitosan obtained was characterized, analyzed functional group with FTIR and determined its adsorption capacity against Au metal ion, Au content in the sample before and after adsorption was measured using AAS. The results showed chitosan characterization as follows: rendeman 45.83%, have powder texture, white colour, odourless, have moisture content 1.55%, perfectly soluble in glacial acetic acid 2% and purple positive with ninhydrin solution showed chitin has turned into chitosan. Based on calculations from the results of the resulting chitosan FTIR data has a degree of deacetylation 71.17%. From the result of analysis by using AAS that chitosan obtained able to adsorb Au metal from concentration 8.55 ppm decrease until 5,09 ppm with adsorption percentage equal to 40.46%.

Abstract

The research is aimed to find out the influence of Problem Based Learning toward students’ learning motivation and concept understanding at the VIII grade students of SMPN 2 Tanjung. The type of this research is Quasi-Experiment in which the researcher uses pretest-postest control group design. The population of this research is the whole VIII Grade students of SMPN 2 Tanjung which consists of 124 students. Simple random sampling was used to take the sample from the number of population. Two classes of the VIII Grade students were taken as the sample of the research. The two classes are VIIIB and VIIIC classes that each class consists of 30 students. Collecting the data needed in the study, the researcher uses test as the main instrument to collect the data needed in this study. The collected data of the research in analyzed by using statistical analysis method, t-test in particular. The result of data analysis shows that the t-test for students’ learning motivation is 2.318 and the value of t-table is 2,002 meanwhile the result of t-test for students’ concept understanding is 4.152 and the value of t-table is 2.002 at the level of significance 5%. It means that the result of t-test is higher than the value of t-table. It can be interpreted that the alternative hypothesis ( ha ) is accepted and the null hypthesis (ho) is rejected. Finally, the study concluded that there is significant influence of Problem Based Learning towards students’ learning motivation and concept understanding at the VIII Grade students’ of SMPN 2 Tanjung.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inquiry learning models on the students’ metacognition awareness in senior high school. Metacognition awareness in this study consists of eight components, namely (1) declarative knowledge, (2) procedural knowledge, (3) conditional knowledge, (4) planning, (5) information management system, (6) monitoring, (7) evaluation, and (8) debugging. This research is a quasi-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study were 25 students of science in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 3 Lombok Tengah chosen using the saturated sample technique. Metacognition Awerness Inventory (MAI) is used to collect metacognition awareness data of students who are analyzed using paired t-test and Wilcoxon test samples. The results showed that students' metacognition awareness for all indicators was stated to increase (p <0.05) after learning using inquiry learning models. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning model influences the metacognition awareness of secondary school students.

Abstract

Studies on Sentul fruit have identified the presence of phenolic compounds in the flesh and have not yet analyzed the total phenolic content. This encourages research to conduct further analysis of the total phenol of Sentul fruit, this is to optimize the value of its benefits, especially in the health sector so that its use can be increased as phytopharmacology drugs. Extensive laboratory studies were carried out with sample preparation and qualitative analysis of total phenol. Determination of the total phenol content contained in the sample extract was carried out based on the Folin-Ciocalteu method. In the end, in this study we can conclude that the total phenolic content of the crude extract of ripe Sentul fruit pulp showed positive results in various sample treatments. Further results are explained in this article.

Abstract

The development of learning media is very important to support teaching and learning in the classroom because abstract concepts in physics are difficult to understand. This study aims to Develop Animation Media using Macromedia Flash Application On Static Electric Material. This research uses the development of ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collected by Questionnaire. Questionnaire is used to measure program indicators relating to the content of learning media, program display, and program technical quality. Questionnaire uses a four-point response from Likert scale, where the response alternative is excellent (4 points), good (3 point), less good (2 point) and bad (1 point)

Abstract

The lack of skill in grade VIII students is very worrying. Learning activities are still teacher-centered, donated by conventional methods, and methods that are not appropriate so that students are not active during the learning and impact on the low achievement of learning. Therefore, to solve the problem in this research used the application of science learning model of community technology to improve learning achievement. This study aims to improve student achievement. This classroom action research was conducted in 2 cycles; data collected using observation sheets, 'process skill' tests and evaluation tests. Data has been quantitatively analyzed. The subjects of this study are all classes VIII-A at SMP Negeri 6 east praya, amounting to 28 students. The results showed that the average of learning outcomes in cycle I was 34, 9 with 10, 7% classical completeness. In cycle II has increased average to 67, 5 with classical completeness 85, 7%. Skills of students' science processes increase from cycle I to II. This research can be concluded that in the application of learning model of 'community technology science' has been able to improve students' science process skill.

Abstract

[Title: The Implementation of Mindscaping Method in Physics Learning as an Effort to Improve Student Learning Outcomes]. This study aims to improve the activities and outcomes of student physics learning by applying the mindscaping method. This type of research is classroom action research conducted in three cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, evaluation and reflection. Student learning activity data is obtained by observation while student learning outcomes data are obtained by giving objective tests at the end of each cycle. The application of the mindscaping method in this study is said to be successful if 85% of students achieve learning outcomes greater or equal to 65, while student learning activities are at least active categories. The results of the study showed an increase in student learning activities each cycle, namely in the first cycle the category was quite active to be very active in the second cycle and in the third cycle. Student learning outcomes can be seen from the classical completeness value which has increased in each cycle, each has a value of 76% in the first cycle, 80% in the second cycle, and 92% in the third cycle. Thus it can be concluded that the application of the mindscaping method has succeeded in increasing the activities and results of student physics learning.
